ATS Arrested Varanasi Man On Charge Of Spying For Pakistan
The Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad (UP ATS) has arrested Tufail, son of Maqsood Alam, from Uttar Pradesh's Varanasi on charges of allegedly spying for Pakistan.
The arrest was made following credible intelligence indicating his involvement in spying for Pakistan and sharing sensitive information related to India's internal security.
According to ATS, Tufail was found to be in contact with multiple individuals based in Pakistan. Upon surveillance by the ATS, it was revealed that He used to share videos of Maulana Shah Rizvi, leader of Pakistan's banned terrorist organisation, Tehreek-e-Labbaik, in WhatsApp groups.

The Anti-Terrorism Squad also informed that he shared messages calling for 'Ghazwa-e-Hind', the revenge of Babri Masjid and implementing Shariat in India.
Earlier, UP ATS arrested Shahzad from UP's Moradabad on charges of allegedly spying for Pakistan's intelligence agency, ISI. He is a resident of Rampur. Shahzad had been visiting Pakistan for several years and was involved in smuggling cosmetics, clothes, spices, and other goods across the India-Pakistan border under the guise of trade.
According to the UP ATS, Shahzad maintained close ties with ISI agents and provided them with confidential information related to India's security. He allegedly facilitated the travel of people from Rampur and other parts of Uttar Pradesh to Pakistan to work for ISI under the guise of smuggling. Notably, the visas for these individuals were arranged by the ISI itself.

JU vandalism: Univ files plaint against guard

Two booked for hate speech on social media
Mangaluru: Kadaba police have registered separate cases against two individuals for hate speech and provocative social media messages. A case was registered at Kadaba police station against Naveen Neriya, who delivered a hate speech against police in Kadaba. Police said that the accused, while delivering hate speech against the police, also provoked the gathering. As there are possibilities of a threat to law and order, a case was registered against him at Kadaba police station under Section 353(2) of the BNS, and an investigation is under way. Further legal action will be taken, police said. Meanwhile, Puttur police have registered a case against Ganesh Prasad, who shared a message threatening the administration. In connection with an externment notice issued to Ganesh Prasad, residing in Kabaka village, Puttur, is accused of deliberately spreading false information to the public via WhatsApp and threatening the local administration with fear and criminal intimidation. With the court's permission, a case was registered against the accused, with Puttur town police, under sections 353(1), (b), 351(3) of the BNS. An investigation is under way, with further legal action to be taken,police said. Urwa police in Mangaluru have registered a case against Puneeth Kerehalli for uploading a video with provocative message. Police said that Kerehalli attempted to disrupt societal peace and order by creating reels aimed at certain areas in Bengaluru to incite communal tension between two communities.

Bareilly admn enforces strict guidelines for Eid-ul-Azha to maintain harmony
Bareilly: The Bareilly district administration has enforced stringent guidelines to maintain law and order and uphold communal harmony during Eid-ul-Azha on Friday. District magistrate Avneesh Singh issued instructions prohibiting animal sacrifice in public spaces and warned that posting photos or videos of such acts on social media would result in strict legal consequences. "Sanitation teams from municipal corporations and local urban bodies have been deployed with area-specific responsibilities. Their work will be closely monitored to ensure cleanliness throughout the festival," Singh said. Authorities also announced that Eid prayers would be permitted only at designated Eidgahs or prayer grounds. "Offering prayers on roads or in public places will not be allowed under any circumstances," the DM added. To curb the spread of misinformation and inflammatory content, cyber cell units and police will actively monitor social media platforms. Officials have been instructed to take immediate action against any provocative posts, rumors, or communal targeting. Meanwhile, Sambhal district magistrate Dr Rajendra Pensiya issued a similar directive permitting animal sacrifice only at 19 designated locations. Sacrifice in open or public areas is strictly banned, with violators subject to legal action. Farmaan Hasan Khan, national secretary of the Muslim organisation Jamaat Raza-e-Mustafa, appealed to community members to fully adhere to the administration's advisory. "We urge everyone to carry out sacrifices in enclosed areas, maintain hygiene, and avoid sharing any images or videos online," he told TOI.
