Founded in 2021 in Eindhoven, LiveDrop develops proprietary technology for fast, secure, and fully offline data transfer using optical encoding. As a software-based solution that runs on standard hardware – such as laptops, smartphones, and cameras – LiveDrop's technology can be seamlessly integrated into mission systems and existing software environments. This enables secure, unidirectional data exchange without the need for wireless or network-based communication, which is critical in defense and national security operations.
The company's twelve-person team focuses primarily on the Defense & Security sector, with additional potential applications in Cybersecurity, Healthcare, and secure end-user devices. LiveDrop's dual-use strategy ensures relevance across both military and civilian markets, contributing to safer data handling in sensitive environments.
Patrick Moreu, CEO of LiveDrop, commented:
"The fact that this round was oversubscribed, and that both existing and new shareholders reaffirmed their commitment, is a powerful validation of our direction. The involvement of Secfund, Value Creation Capital, Kadmos Capital, and Wi-Fi pioneer Cees Links confirms the strength of our dual-use strategy and opens doors to broader deployment in NATO countries and beyond.'
With the proceeds from this seed round, LiveDrop aims to further scale its technology across defense, government, and civilian sectors, supporting its ambition for accelerated international deployment and deeper integration into secure data ecosystems. The strong backing from both national and international investors not only provides capital but also valuable strategic guidance, market access, and industry expertise.

Grocery watchdog investigates Amazon over late payment to suppliers
The UK grocery watchdog has launched an investigation into Amazon's treatment of suppliers. The Groceries Code Adjudicator (GCA) said it is looking at whether the US-based online retail giant breached rules over payments. The regulator said this will particularly look at delays in paying its suppliers, deductions in commercial negotiations with suppliers and how it manages supplier concerns over these deductions. It comes almost a year after the GCA told Amazon it must take 'swift and comprehensive action' to improve its compliance with industry rules designed to protect suppliers. The GCA oversees Britain's 14 largest grocery retailers – including Tesco, Sainsbury's and Marks & Spencer – to make sure they treat suppliers fairly. It restricts firms from making changes to supply contracts at short notice and also requires retailers to give an appropriate period of notice if they no longer want to use a supplier, and provide reasons for ending the contract. Rules also prohibit late delays in payments from retailers to their suppliers. Adjudicator Mark White said: 'Delays in payment can significantly harm suppliers. 'The alleged delays could expose Amazon suppliers to excessive risk and unexpected costs, potentially affecting their ability to invest and innovate. 'I decided to launch this targeted investigation based on the range of evidence I have seen from multiple sources.' He called on suppliers and to provide evidence about their experiences dealing with Amazon. The GCA added that its has received information about 'other issues at Amazon', but provided no further detail about this. Rail system 'could transform public transport'
A light rail system currently being developed in Coventry could transform public transport in the future, officials claimed. Coventry's Very Light Rail (VLR) system has been described by the city council as like a tram but more flexible and affordable as well as being an alternative to cars. A 220m (241yd) test track has been giving free rides for the past month and West Midlands mayor Richard Parker said the trial showed the system could "revolutionise" public transport worldwide. Local Transport Minister Simon Lightwood saw the VLR on a visit and said it could "drive growth, create high-skilled jobs and breathe new life" into towns and cities. Parker said it could "revolutionise public transport for millions worldwide". This news was gathered by the Local Democracy Reporting Service, which covers councils and other public service organisations. TalkTalk plots break-up of telecoms and broadband group
TalkTalk, the telecoms and broadband group founded by Sir Charles Dunstone, is preparing to hire City advisers to oversee a break-up of the company. Sky News has learnt that investment banks were asked to pitch this week for a mandate to oversee a potential sale of TalkTalk's two remaining businesses: its consumer arm and PXC, its wholesale and network division. City sources said on Friday that Barclays and Morgan Stanley were among the banks in the frame to oversee the strategic review, which has been triggered by separate unsolicited approaches for both parts of the group. Money latest: TalkTalk, which has been grappling with a strained balance sheet for some time, is also in talks to raise a further £100m from a combination of existing investors and asset sales, according to people close to the situation. The company has recently drafted in advisers from Alvarez & Marsal, the professional services firm, to assist its finance function with liquidity management, the people added. TalkTalk has more than 3m broadband customers, with parts of its customer base expected to be sold as part of its efforts to raise money. It completed a £1.2bn refinancing late last year, but has been under pressure from bondholders to raise additional capital.
