Denzel rips Jerry Jones, 'He ain't thinking about us, he's thinking about his pockets!

Despite being the most valuable and recognizable sports franchise in the world, the Dallas Cowboys aren't without their problems. At the heart of those issues is the organizations leadership under owner Jerry Jones. As a business owner, Jones is as successful as anyone in the sports world. His team prints money, but it's not what fans care about.
That point was made abundantly clear when noted Cowboys fan Denzel Washington joined ESPN's First Take to be the latest person in line to hammer Jones on how he runs his team.
Washington, on set with producer Spike Lee to promote his upcoming movie release Highest to Lowest, professed his love for the team. He speaks about being a Cowboys' fan since the 1960s. His frustration over the team's inability to win over the last three decades falls squarely on the shoulders of Jones.
Washington's biggest line that "you (Jones) haven't been to the show, so you wouldn't know what it is to win" resonates extremely loudly for Cowboys fans. To most football observers, Jones is the foremost reason for the franchises failures since the turn of the century, something the Oscar winning actor appears to agree with. The contention that Jones chooses money over winning is something that gets closer to being reality every year.
This is what 30 years without winning anything of note gets Jones and his Cowboys; being mocked and ridiculed by one of the world's most famous people. At some point the embarrassment has to set in. Which, in turn, will lead to changes in how the organization does business, right?
Don't bet on it. If this offseason has taught us anything, its that Jones does not care about what people think, he's not changing, and he believes every time the Cowboys are brought up it brings attention and more importantly, dollars. While that might be Jones' agenda, it's a far cry from what the fans, including famous ones like Washington, are clamoring for.
The money is nice for the Jones family, but its success on the field that matters to most to everyone else. For Dallas Cowboys fans big and small, winning a Super Bowl is what means something, not the money.

Chiefs players ‘teased' Travis Kelce in locker room for 2016 dating show, Derrick Johnson says

There was a time when Travis Kelce's dating life was the subject of entertainment media, even without Taylor Swift. In 2016, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end had his own dating show, 'Catching Kelce,' on which he tried out dating 50 women, one from each state, in an attempt to find a girlfriend. Advertisement The show lasted one season. Kelce's former teammate, Chiefs all-time tackle leader Derrick Johnson, told Fox News Digital how the locker room reacted to Kelce's dating show. 'He tried not to [talk about the show in the locker room] but we kind of teased him at times, because when you're playing for Andy Reid, there's no distractions. You got to do your job and do it at a high level. So we were aware of the show in the locker room. We'd throw different stuff out there. But when it came to football, it was all business,' Johnson said. Kelce turned 27 in October 2016 when the show aired, overlapping with that year's NFL season. Advertisement The tight end was in the midst of his first 1,000-yard receiving season and second-of-10-straight Pro Bowl seasons. And while the teasing for the show came in the locker room, Johnson says the team's veterans also respected the younger Kelce's abilities when it came to dating. 'He had that taken care of. Good or bad, that's the area that he needs no help in,' Johnson said. 5 Travis Kelce led the dating show 'Catching Kelce' in 2016. YouTube/E! The show's first and only season ended with Kelce choosing a contestant from Kentucky, Maya Benberry, as his girlfriend. However, by 2017, Kelce was reported to have begun dating his next girlfriend, model Kayla Nicole. Advertisement Kelce and Nicole reportedly dated for five years up until May 2022. Once Kelce began his relationship with Swift in 2023, Johnson took notice. 5 Kelce was 'teased' about his dating show in the locker room, according to Chiefs all-time tackle leader Derrick Johnson. Fox News 5 Kelce started dating Taylor Swift in 2023. AP 'He outkicked his coverage. Taylor's big time,' Johnson said. 'Kelce's big time as well, football-wise, but she is globally. So they're definitely a power couple.' Johnson left the Chiefs for the rival Raiders for his final season in 2018, but his lasting influence preceded the team's historic dynasty and three Super Bowl wins, with five total trips to the big game, from 2019 to February 2024. Johnson was famously a team leader on defense in the early years of Kelce's career. 'None of us knew who he could really be. He probably didn't know it at all either. And once he got going after his second year, third year, I was like, 'This guy is the man!'' Johnson said.

Trump will be at the Kennedy Center on the same day recipients of the honors are announced

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump will be visiting the Kennedy Center on Wednesday, the same day that the recipients of this year's honors are announced. Trump avoided the Kennedy Center Honors during his first term after artists said they would not attend out of protest. This year, he has taken over as the Kennedy Center's new chairman and fired the board of trustees, which he replaced with loyalists. In a Truth Social post Tuesday, Trump teased a name change for the performing arts center and said it would be restored to its former glory. 'GREAT Nominees for the TRUMP/KENNEDY CENTER, whoops, I mean, KENNEDY CENTER, AWARDS,' Trump wrote. He said work was being done on the site that would be 'bringing it back to the absolute TOP LEVEL of luxury, glamour, and entertainment.' 'It had fallen on hard times, physically, BUT WILL SOON BE MAKING A MAJOR COMEBACK!!!' he wrote. It is unclear how this year's batch of honorees were chosen, though Trump had indicated he wanted a more active role. Historically, a bipartisan advisory committee selects the recipients, who over the years have ranged from George Balanchine and Tom Hanks to Aretha Franklin and Stephen Sondheim. A message sent to the Kennedy Center press office asking how this year's honorees were selected wasn't returned Tuesday. The Kennedy Center did post this on social media, however: 'Coming Soon ... A country music icon, an Englishman, a New York City Rock band, a dance Queen and a multi-billion dollar Actor walk into the Kennedy Center Opera House ...' In the past, Trump has floated the idea of granting Kennedy Center Honors status to singer-songwriter Paul Anka and actor Sylvester Stallone, one of three actors Trump named as Hollywood 'ambassadors' earlier this year. Anka was supposed to perform 'My Way' at Trump's first inaugural and backed out at the last moment. The Kennedy Center honors were established in 1978 and have been handed out to a broad range of artists. Until Trump's first term, presidents of both parties traditionally attended the annual ceremony, even when they disagreed politically with a given recipient. Prominent liberals such as Barbra Streisand and Warren Beatty were honored during the administration of Republican George W. Bush, and a leading conservative, Charlton Heston, was feted during the administration of Democrat BIll Clinton. In 2017, after honoree Norman Lear declared that he would not attend a White House celebration in protest of Trump's proposed cuts to federal arts funding, Trump and first lady Melania Trump decided to skip the Kennedy Center event and remained away throughout his first term. Honorees during that time included such Trump critics as Cher, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Sally Field. Since taking office for a second time, Trump has taken a much more forceful stance on the Kennedy Center and inserted himself into its governance. Besides naming himself chairman and remaking the board, he has also indicated that he would take over decisions regarding programming at the center and vowed to end events featuring performers in drag. The steps have drawn further criticism from some artists. In March, the producers of 'Hamilton' pulled out of staging the Broadway hit musical in 2026, citing Trump's aggressive takeover of the institution's leadership. Other artists who canceled events include actor Issa Rae, singer Rhiannon Giddens and author Louise Penny. House Republicans have introduced an amendment to a spending bill that would rename the Kennedy Center's opera house after first lady Melania Trump. Maria Shriver, a niece of the late President John F. Kennedy, has criticized as 'insane' a separate House proposal to rename the entire center after Trump. Recipients of the Kennedy Center Honors are given a medallion on a rainbow ribbon, a nod to the range of skills that fall under the performing arts. In April, the center changed the lights on the exterior from the long-standing rainbow to a permanent red, white and blue display. ___ Italie reported from New York. Dallas Cowboys Fans Applaud Denzel Washington For Jerry Jones Rant

Dallas Cowboys Fans Applaud Denzel Washington For Jerry Jones Rant originally appeared on The Spun. Legendary actor Denzel Washington doesn't play around when it comes to the Dallas Cowboys. Washington appeared on ESPN's "First Take" this Tuesday to promote his upcoming film, "Highest 2 Lowest." The two-time Academy Award winner also had a discussion about the Cowboys with ESPN personality Stephen A. Smith. His favorite NFL team has received a lot of backlash for the way it has handled contract negotiations with All-Pro pass rusher Micah Parsons. The Cowboys haven't reached the Super Bowl in nearly 30 years. Although he didn't completely blame Jerry Jones for that drought, Washington dished out some blunt advice for the owner of "America's Team" while on ESPN. "He ain't thinking about us. He's thinking about his pocket," Washington said. "There is box office and there is Oscars. Jerry, been a while, huh? Ain't been to the show, you wouldn't know. Ain't been to the show, wouldn't know. Haven't been to the show, wouldn't know what it is to win." NFL fans, especially those residing in Dallas, loved this rant from Washington. They think it perfectly captures what's wrong with the Cowboys. "Facts," a Cowboys fan wrote on X. "Please relay to Jerry & Stephen, the fans want Micah signed, stop waiting so long to pay top players, hire a GM, quit kicking the can at RB, and stop talking football in the media, that's the head coach's job. As Emmitt Smith said, the business isn't aligned with football operations." "Didn't know my goat is a Cowboys fan and he called Jerry a clown on live tv. Greatest aura ever," a second Dallas fan commented. "Denzel calling out Jerry Jones wasn't on my 2025 bingo card. And I'm absolutely here for it," another fan said. "Denzel still got his fastball. Remarkable talent," a social media user wrote. Fans are sure hoping Jones will listen to Washington's advice about how "all money ain't good money." Jones hasn't responded to Washington's remarks yet. If we had to guess, he's not really offended that he got called out by the "Remember the Titans" star. After all, Jones enjoys being in the spotlight.
