British tourist critical after being ‘stabbed and hurled from car' in Thailand
A British tourist is fighting for his life in hospital after being 'stabbed and hurled from a car' in Thailand.
Andrew Joseph Cook, from Manchester, was in a white Toyota Veloz with two other foreigners and a Thai woman when the car pulled into a car park in the city of Pattaya.
The 36-year-old was already injured and covered in blood when the driver hauled him from the backseat before dumping him on the pavement.
There, it is alleged that the driver stabbed Andrew with a knife a number oftimes before the group fled the scene.
His injuries on his chest and stomach were so deep that internal fat poured out.
The left side of his face had also sustained a deep 10cm slash.
The wounds were so deep that blood still flowed through the thick bandage that emergency responders put on.
Footage shows the barely-conscious Andrew lying on the pavement while paramedics tended to him.
Andrew was then rushed to Pattaya Pathomkhun Hospital where he is in intensive care.
Taxi driver Sayan Samanmit was at the scene when the attack happened, but said he was too scared for his life to jump in and help. More Trending
But he was able to take a picture of the assailant's car and plate number.
He said: 'A white Toyota Veloz drove into the parking lot. Two foreign men and one woman got out of the car.
'I heard shouting and then the car sped away. The foreign man was lying on the ground in pain.'

But the vessel was taken by Israeli authorities to Ashdod at around 4.30am local time. At which point, a spokesperson for Israel's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said: "With recent reports of a 'celebrities yacht' heading to Gaza, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs wishes to clarify the following: "The maritime zone off the coast of Gaza is closed to unauthorised vessels under a legal naval blockade, consistent with international law. The yacht is claiming that it is delivering humanitarian aid. In fact, it is a media gimmick for publicity (which includes less than a single truckload of aid) - a 'selfie yacht'. "Humanitarian aid is delivered regularly and effectively via different channels and routes, and is transferred through established distribution mechanisms. Over the past two weeks, more than 1,200 aid trucks have entered Gaza from Israel. The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation has distributed close to 11 million meals directly to civilians in Gaza. "The Gaza maritime zone remains an active conflict area, and Hamas has previously exploited sea routes for terrorist attacks, including the October 7th massacre. Unauthorised attempts to breach the blockade are dangerous, unlawful, and undermine ongoing humanitarian efforts. We call on all actors to act responsibly and to channel humanitarian aid through legitimate, coordinated mechanisms, not through provocation."

Greta Thunberg attempts to reach Gaza despite Israel's chilling threat
Israel's defence chief has vowed to prevent an aid boat carrying Greta Thunberg and other activists from reaching the Gaza Strip. Israel Katz said Israel will not allow anyone to break its blockade of the Palestinian territory. He said: "To the anti- Semitic Greta and her fellow Hamas propagandists, I will say this clearly: You should turn back, because you will not make it to Gaza." Mr Katz added: "I have instructed the IDF to act so the hate flotilla does not reach the shores of Gaza - and to take any means necessary to that end." Two people killed after car drives over huge cliff and crashes into the sea
Two people have died after a car drove over the edge of a cliff. The incident happened on Friday evening at Alum Bay on the Isle of Wight, not far from the famous Isle of Wight Needles. The car was being driven along Alum Bay New Road when it left the road, drove over the edge of the cliff and crashed into the sea below. Police, firefighters, paramedics and coastguards all attended the scene. It is understood a man was 'recovered' from the water, but earlier today Hampshire Police confirmed two people died in the crash. The victims have not yet been formally identified but their next of kin have been told. Dramatic pictures from the scene show the twisted remains of the silver vehicle protruding out from the sea as police examined the vehicle in boats. More Trending A police statement released on Friday said: 'We're currently at the scene of a serious incident in Totland. 'We were called at 7.21pm this evening after a car, which was being driven along Alum Bay New Road, left the road, came off the cliff top and came to rest in the water below.' A one-day yacht race which involved sailing past Alum Bay still went ahead as planned on Saturday. The annual Round the Island Race sees sailors race all the way around the Isle of Wight and regularly attracts more than 1,200 boats.
