Alexis Bledel made a surprise return to The Handmaid's Tale for the series finale, ICYMI
Spoilers for The Handmaid's Tale series finale ahead!!
Under his eye no more. The Handmaid's Tale came to an end this week with an explosive series finale, aptly titled 'The Handmaid's Tale.' The series finale was full of last minute twists and turns, including the surprise return of fan favorite Emily or Ofglen. After two seasons away, Alexis Bledel returned for the Handmaid's Tale series finale, giving fans a much-needed update on her character and helping bring June's story to a close.
"It was an immediate yes," Alexis told The Hollywood Reporter of her return to the dystopian series. "It felt right to bring closure to Emily's journey and offer the audience a sense of completion." The actor left the series after four seasons of playing Emily, a Handmaid who helps June, played by Elisabeth Moss, join the rebellion in Gilead. Her character was written off in season 5, when it was explained that Emily had decided to continue fighting in Gilead. Many, including Emily's partner, believed her to be dead.
But in the series finale, Emily runs into June in a now liberated Boston and reveals she's been working as a Martha for a sympathetic Commander while continuing the resistance. She also confirms that she's been in contact with her partner and son, tying up a loose end fans have been wondering about since season 5. Alexis appears again in a dream sequence alongside co-stars Madeline Brewer, Nina Kiri, Amanda Brugel, Samira Wiley, and Bahia Watson, where June imagines the Handmaids meeting under different circumstances, if Gilead never existed, singing karaoke without a care in the world.
"I hope viewers take away to keep hope alive when things seem impossible," Alexis told THR of Emily's reappearance. "Even if it seems like seeds you plant couldn't possibly grow, plant seeds of hope anyway. You never know; they might find a way."
Elisabeth, who directed the episode, was especially excited to reunite with her co-star. "My first official scene day one [on set] was with Alexis," she told THR. "So it meant a lot to get to work with her again." Showrunner Bruce Miller echoed that sentiment, saying, "It was wonderful to see her and Lizzie get right back into it after all that time. It's like watching the fucking Yankees bullpen every day with these guys. They're so good."
The Handmaid's Tale is available to stream on Channel4.com.

Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani hit historic home runs as Dodgers defeat Yankees
Two of baseball's biggest stars lined up against each other on Friday and produced a blockbuster, historic game. First Aaron Judge and then Shohei Ohtani homered at their respective first at bats of the game, making history as the first reigning MVPs to hit a home run in the opening inning of the same game. That opening salvo promised a thrilling game, one worthy of its billing as a rematch of last season's World Series. And like in the Fall Classic, the Los Angeles Dodgers came back to defeat the New York Yankees, overturning a three-run deficit at the bottom of the sixth to take an 8-5 win at Dodger Stadium. 'It was a really good start to the game, it was a back and forth between two really good teams and I'm glad we came out at the top,' Ohtani said afterward through interpreter Will Ireton. The Japanese superstar has already scored 60 runs this season, reaching that milestone faster than any other MLB player in the modern era, according to OptaSTATS. 'I feel like he was copying me,' Judge joked afterward, telling reporters about Ohtani's home run just after his own. 'He's impressive. He's one of the best players in the game for a reason; what he can do in the box, on the basepaths, once he gets back on the mound, it's special.' Though Ohtani's homer tied the game, the Yankees displayed their impressively deep offensive line-up with Austin Wells, Trent Grisham, and Paul Goldschmidt all contributing home runs of their own to make it 5-2 after the fifth inning. There was still time for Ohtani to add a second homer to his tally, and he smashed one out to right center field at the bottom of the sixth, sparking a four-run inning that changed the complexion of the game. That homer, Ohtani's league-leading 22nd of the season, marked the first of five consecutive Dodgers hits, loading the bases and making it a high scoring inning. 'With Shohei, he would probably say it's just like any other game,' Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told reporters afterward. 'But I do think that when you see the reigning MVP on the other side, and going out there and performing, that brings out even more of a competitor in Shohei. And obviously, it brought up a lot of excitement from the fans.' A two-run single from outfielder Andy Pages in seventh inning gave the Dodgers a 8-5 lead, a margin they never relinquished. The two teams next face each other on Saturday.

Dodgers beat Yankees in World Series rematch with comeback win powered by Shohei Ohtani's two homers
The Los Angeles Dodgers beat the New York Yankees in a World Series rematch 8-5 on Friday night at Dodger Stadium in a game that felt like the last time the two teams played against one another. The last time the Yankees and Dodgers shared a field was at Yankee Stadium, when New York blew a 5-0 lead in Game 5 of the World Series – losing the championship in catastrophic fashion. On Friday night, the Yankees once again blew a lead, albeit not as badly as in the now-infamous Game 5. The game started with fireworks, as both Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani hit home runs in the first inning to make it 1-1. Judge and Ohtani became the first reigning MVPs to homer in the first inning of the same game. In the top of the second inning, the Yankees continued to mash off of Dodgers starting pitcher Tony Gonsolin. Catcher Austin Wells hit a solo home run, and center fielder Trent Grisham added a two-run shot in the second to give the Yankees a 4-1 lead. The Dodgers also scored a run in the second inning, but Yankees first baseman Paul Goldschmidt hit a solo home run to make it 5-2 to restore the three-run lead. That would be the last run the Yankees would score on Friday night. Ohtani hit a second home run off Yankees starter Max Fried in the sixth inning and kicked off a four-run inning for the Dodgers. Teoscar Hernández and Will Smith singled before Freddie Freeman's RBI double chased Fried from the game. Jonathan Loáisiga replaced Fried and allowed a game-tying RBI single from Dodgers center fielder Andy Pages. Hill then relieved Loaisiga and walked Michael Conforto with the bases loaded to give the Dodgers a 6-5 lead. The Dodgers tacked on two more in the seventh. Will Smith singled, Freeman doubled, and both scored on Pages' two-run single off Yankees reliever Yerry De Los Santos. The Yankees (35-21) and Dodgers (35-22) will play the second game of their three-game series on Saturday at 7:15 p.m. ET on FOX. INDIANA JONES AND THE LAST CRUSADE is Coming Back To Theaters For Father's Day — GeekTyrant
"The man with the hat is back. And this time he's bringing his dad." Grab your dad, your leather satchel, and a fedora because Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade is heading back to theaters for Father's Day, which is awesome, because I'll finally get to watch this movie on the big screen again! Fathom Events is giving fans the opportunity to relive one of cinema's greatest father-son adventures on the big screen. The 1989 classic returns June 14, 15, and 18 as part of their Big Screen Classics series. This is my favorite Indiana Jones movie. The chemistry between Harrison Ford and Sean Connery still hits. Despite only being twelve years apart in real life, their dynamic as Indy and his cranky, bookish dad somehow worked like magic. This movie delivered so many unforgettable moments: the motorcycle escape, the Venice catacombs, the literal leap of faith, and of course, Indy shouting 'DON'T CALL ME JUNIOR!' It's action-packed, hilarious, surprisingly emotional, and a good reminder that punching Nazis will never go out of style. This seems like a fun opportunity to take your dad to the movies. Even if my own kids don't take me, I'm still going to go see it! I'm up for going solo to soak in some nostalgia with a bucket of popcorn and that John Williams score echoing through the theater. When it comes to Father's Day plans, you could buy a tie for your dad… or you could take him to watch a classic father and son adventure film!
