'Fall from boat' on Loch Lomond as search underway for Scots ex-hotel boss

Divers are searching for the founder of a popular hotel after he fell from a boat on Loch Lomond.
Alan Colquhoun, 83, is believed to have been with members of his family when he fell overboard on Thursday afternoon.
Police and Coastguard have also been involved in the search for Mr Colquhoun, the dad-of-three who is the former owner of The Lodge on Loch Lomond Hotel.
A source said the area has been swarming with police and search teams since the alarm was raised.
They said: 'Divers have been out constantly every day since Thursday. There's police everywhere.
'They've never left the loch since the man went missing.
'It seems like they've been all over the place constantly since Thursday but still haven't been able to find him.
'A helicopter was also flying above the loch at one point.
'We haven't heard much about it but the search is still very much ongoing.
'We've also heard they're meant to be bringing in some kind of submarine in the morning to try and locate the man if he hasn't been found by then.'

The four-star Lodge on the Loch Lomond Hotel was built by Mr Colquhoun and his wife Elizabeth on the site of a derelict farm and opened on his 50th birthday in 1992.
It is now owned and run by his son Niall and his wife Ann.
The hotel was still open for business yesterday despite the ongoing search.
A member of staff who answered the phone at the hotel refused to comment when called by the Record.
The Colquhoun family is believed to have gone out on the loch on a boat from Freedom Boat Club at nearby Ardlui Marina.
A spokesman there said: 'We can't comment as an investigation is still ongoing.
'Nobody has been found yet.'
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: 'Around 12.35pm on Thursday, 26 June, we received a report of an 83-year-old man entering the water in Loch Lomond near Isle of Inchlonaig.
'Police and partner agencies attended and extensive searches are ongoing.
'Local officers have been assisted by our Dive and Marine Unit and Air Support Unit.
'Officers are continuing to keep the man's family updated.'

Man accused of armed robbery at Scots Premier store appears in court
Greg Parker appeared at Livingston Sheriff Court today. A man has appeared in court after an alleged armed robbery at a Scots store. Greg Parker was detained by officers after the incident at the Premier Bathville store in Armadale, West Lothian. Man who raped and sexually assaulted victims for eight years as a teenager is jailed
The attacks by Riley Kirk took place over three years, beginning when he was just 14 years old. A young man who carried out a series of serious sexual offences across Falkirk and West Lothian as a teenager has been sentenced to eight years behind bars. Riley Kirk was handed the prison term at the High Court in Edinburgh on Monday June 30, and also been placed on the Sex Offenders Register. The 20-year-old was found guilty at the same court last month, on May 26, after a trial heard harrowing details of attacks spanning more than three years from October 2019 to January 2023. His crimes included rape and sexual assault, beginning when he was just 14 years old, with multiple victims involved. Speaking after sentencing, Detective Constable Marc Lunn said: 'Riley Kirk is now facing the consequences of his abhorrent actions. 'This result was only possible thanks to the bravery of the victims who came forward. I commend them for the immense strength they have shown throughout the investigation and court proceedings. 'Our thoughts remain with them, and I hope this sentencing brings them some sense of justice and peace. 'I want to reassure our communities that Police Scotland is fully committed to investigating all reports of sexual crime. "Anyone affected by offences of this nature should feel confident in coming forward — you will be listened to, supported, and treated with the utmost care and professionalism.' The star, whose real name was James Lee Williams, died aged 32 earlier this year. Police were called to an address in Chorlton-by-Backford, near Chester, on January 5 following reports of a sudden death. The coroner said that, on the balance of probabilities, it is likely that James died on Friday evening and was not found and pronounced dead until the Sunday. Delivering her verdict, she added: 'I am satisfied that James Lee Williams' death was a misadventure. He took ketamine but he did not intend to end his own life.' Speaking at Cheshire Coroner's Court today, Janine Gobold was alerted when their friends got in touch to ask if she had seen them. Deciding she would use her key to check on the TV favourite, she told the inquest about the devastating find after entering the property with her son. She said in court: "I went into the kitchen and Ryan went into the living room, we were calling his name and there was no answer. All the lights were on. As we got to the top of the stairs, Ryan went one way and I turned right. James ' bedroom is there and there is a door to the ensuite. "I looked at James' bed which was all ruffled, I initially thought Panda [Mr Williams' dog] had ragged the quilt on the bed. 'And then I walked past James' bed and into the bathroom and saw James in the bath, he just looked like he was sleeping." 'I ran over to them and put my hand under their head to stop their face going into the water. I screamed for Ryan, telling them they needed to call for an ambulance and to get some help. I kept hold of James because I didn't want their face in the water, I kept talking to them. Ryan came in the room and he was saying 'mum, I can't come in.' 'So I gently lay James back to take the call from the 999, she asked me some questions and asked me to try and get the patient out of the bath. I tried to take the weight of his body, I told Ryan to go and get my partner Mike. I said he needed to phone Bobby and that we needed help. As reported in the Mirror, the performer was laid to rest at a church in Bodelwyddan in Denbighshire, North Wales - where they are originally from. Their family confirmed that they had died from a cardiac arrest caused by the effects of taking Ketamine. DS Thomas Philpotts, who was the senior investigating officer in the case of James' death, describes entering the bathroom. He suspected he had been dead for some time. The officer wanted to establish if there were any suspicious circumstances or any third party involvement. He began a search of the house. He says while searching James' bedroom there was a small bag that appeared to have previously contained drugs. In the bathroom, James' phone was on the floor next to the bath and there was a bin with several more packets that were suspected to have had drugs in. He suspects they were used before James had got into the bath, over a period of time. He says: 'Everything I was told led me to believe that James had been in the bath since Friday night.' He says his hypothesis was that it was likely that James had died from a medical episode, possibly brought on by drug use, or had possibly drowned in the bath. He says he was satisfied there were no suspicious circumstances or third party involvement.
