Is Chappell Roan playing Glastonbury? Singer is hot favourite for Patchwork secret slot - along with these 7 other acts
This week will see 135,000 people pack into Worthy Farm for perhaps the biggest musical event of the year - the Glastonbury Festival .
They'll see headliners The 1975, Olivia Rodrigo and Neil Young, along with hundreds of other acts across over 100 stages.
But looking at the schedule on the official website, music fans will see numerous timeslots with 'TBA' next to them - with no indication of who will be playing. It could be a global megastar, or some busker from down the road on an acoustic guitar. Such is the joy of the festival.
There are some big gaps to be filled - most intriguingly third on the Pyramid Stage on Saturday, where there is plenty of interest about who exactly 'Patchwork' are.
Numerous names have been suggested, but with just a few days to go, eight names seem to be the most likely.
Here's who they are, and how likely it is that they'll play, according to Casino Beats.
1 . Chappell Roan - 1/2
Chappell Roan is now the red hot favourite to be 'Patchwork' -with her odds dropping from 30/1 to 1/2. She's also playing a pair of gigs in Edinburgh this August as part of the Summer Sessions series. | AFP via Getty Images Photo Sales
2 . Haim - 4/1
The three sisters of Haim have a new album out and are in the UK with free time on Glastonbury weekend. The fact that there's a book called 'Patchwork' written by a German author called Sylvia HAIM means some people reckoned they've solved the riddle of the mysterious band of the same name appearing third on the bill on the Saturday. Having been favourites they have now drifted out to 4/1. | Getty Images for LOUIS VUITTON x Photo Sales
3 . Pulp - 7/1
Another band with an acclaimed new album out and who are currently touring (but have a gap at Glastonbury-time) are Sheffield indie stars Pulp. They've headlined twice in the past, including stepping in at short notice when The Stone Roses pulled out, and would be a popular booking. They are priced at 7/1 third favourites, despite repeatedly denying they are playing (protesting too much maybe?). | Getty Images Photo Sales
4 . Mumford & Sons - 12/1
Mumford & Sons released fifth studio album 'Rushmore' earlier this year and are getting back to playing live - recently headlining Radio 1's Big Weekend. They topped the bill on the Pyramid Stage in 2013. It would seem to be a good time for them to return - ahead of a fallow year in 2026. They are priced at 12/1. | Getty Images for Warner Bros. Guardian Live heads to Glastonbury: Bimini, Steven Frayne and The Libertines take centre stage
We get it – not everyone can brave the mud, queues and early morning tent saunas. But that doesn't mean you can't be part of the action. This year, Guardian Live is setting up camp in the Theatre & Circus area at Glastonbury Festival with a series of exclusive interviews at The Astrolabe. Every day from Friday to Sunday at 12 noon, you'll find us asking the questions that matter, and maybe a few that don't, to some of the most fascinating figures gracing the Worthy Farm fields. First up on Friday is none other than the musician, DJ, activist and drag performer – Bimini. Known for their breakout turn on RuPaul's Drag Race UK, their punky political edge and boundary-breaking style have since taken the fashion world, music scene and literary landscape by storm. Now, they're turning their sharp wit and glittering charm to Glastonbury for a candid chat. Want to know Bimini's favourite festival lewk? You know what to do, send us your questions here. Saturday sees a magical twist, as Steven Frayne – the artist formerly known as Dynamo – joins us to pull back the curtain on life behind the illusions. From levitating in front of Christ the Redeemer to dodging traffic on the Thames, Frayne has redefined modern magic for a new generation. Submit your questions here and we'll make them appear in the interview as if by magic. We're closing out the weekend with a bang – or possibly a jangly riff – as Libertines co-frontmen Peter Doherty and Carl Barât join us for a rare live interview together. Expect tales of indie anthems, chaotic tours, poetic turns and, perhaps, the odd surprise. Got a burning question about Up the Bracket, band bromance or Britpop beefs? Leave your comment on the article and make your voice heard. We'll be capturing the highlights from these sessions and sharing them online soon after, complete with your questions. So go ahead and don't just be a spectator. Be a part of the show. Ask something weird. Ask something wonderful. Just ask.

Glastonbury Festival: Day one in pictures
Under cloudy skies thousands of people descended on Glastonbury Festival earlier as music lovers spent the day carrying, pushing and pulling a weeks worth of possessions across the green grass and mud tracks of the founder Michael Eavis also put in a rare appearance much to the joy of those entering the site. Once at their chosen camping grounds it was time to relax and prepare for what's to come. Smiles all round: festival-goers happily lug their belongings across the farm as they head to where they plan to pitch their tent for the next five nights. A wheelie great idea: One man turned heads as he brought his festival gear onto the farm in a modified wheelie bin. A balancing act: People head into the festival with all of their belongings on their back. Happy campers: All smiles ahead of a weekend of great music. Opening ceremony: For the first time since 1990, the Festival will officially open with a Theatre and Circus act on the Pyramid Stage at 22:00 BST. Selfie stop at Carhenge: Got to remember these moments. Keeping it cool: Quality mother-and-daughter-time spent over an ice cream. Barking mad: The scrap metal dog returns to Carhenge for another year. Crowds unwind and relax before the music officially begins on Friday.

British pop superstar makes huge comeback with new single out TOMORROW – the same day as his secret set at Glastonbury
LEWIS CAPALDI will make a sensational return to music tomorrow – with the singer dropping his comeback single. The release, Lewis ' first since he put out Strangers and A Cure For Minds Unwell in January last year, coincides with his secret set on the Pyramid Stage at Glasto. 9 9 As the gates to Worthy Farm opened to let the first of this year's revellers through yesterday, a source said: 'Lewis took a decent chunk of time away and now he's ready for his fans to hear what he has been working on. 'Tomorrow is a huge day for him. He will be releasing a brand new single and it is his Pyramid Stage performance. He is in a great place and feels ready to come back into the spotlight.' Lewis' last performance at Glastonbury on that very stage in 2023 ended in tears, with the Someone You Loved star breaking down before cutting the set short. I was standing shoulder-to-shoulder with fans who, like me, were in tears at watching Lew struggling. Afterwards, Lewis told us the performance made him realise he needed to 'spend much more time getting my mental and physical health in order'. He retreated from the spotlight but last year started working on new tunes, going into the studio with British singer-songwriter Dan D'Lion, where he was snapped strumming on an acoustic guitar. Then one of my pals overheard him in Gerry's bar in London last October excitedly talking about new music coming this year. Insiders said the new record came together quickly. It will follow his two No1 albums, 2019's debut Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent, and Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent, which came out in 2023. In March, I caught up with his pal Yungblud, who told me he thought Lewis was back to his best, telling me: 'I have heard his new music and it sounds great.' And it's not just the music which is on point, as Lewis returned to the stage for a secret show at Tom Walker's Calm charity gig in Edinburgh last month. Lewis Capaldi's highly-anticipated comeback -- and who will be Charli XCX's Apple girl? | Showbiz Fix Lewis came on stage after Tom had finished performing and played a six-song set in the Assembly Halls. The show went down a treat and Lew absolutely nailed his six-song setlist. Those close to Lewis' told me he is more than ready to return to the spotlight. 'Lewis is raring to go,' my insider added. 'Naturally there will always be nerves but he feels confident and assured. 'He is firing on all cylinders and there's no doubt this single will go straight to No1, which will give Lewis a massive boost.' We're rooting for you Lewis, and we can't wait to see you back down in Somerset. Gene and Lennon's family ties YOU won't need three guesses to work out who these two suit-wearing nepo babies are the sons of. Models Gene and Lennon Gallagher were snapped looking just like their dad Liam during the Saint Laurent show at Paris Men's Fashion Week. There's eight days to go until Liam and their uncle Noel reunite in Cardiff for Oasis ' reunion tour, and I've no doubt they will be in the crowd cheering them on. And I won't be surprised if Gene and Lennon hotfoot it from the French capital to Glastonbury, as I've seen them letting loose at the festival before. If their resemblance to Liam extends to his behaviour, I'm sure they will be getting up to plenty of antics on Worthy Farm. Libertine's in album push THE LIBERTINES are pushing ahead with their next album following the success of All Quiet On The Eastern Esplanade, which went straight to No1 last year. The band, Pete Doherty, Carl Barat, John Hassall and Gary Powell, left a gap of ten years between their third and fourth. 9 And in an exclusive chat ahead of their performance on Glastonbury's Pyramid Stage on Sunday afternoon, drummer Gary promised they won't be leaving it as long before bringing out a fifth album. 'There's always plans, it's whether we get to it,' Gary said.'We were on a two-record deal. 'So there was supposed to be at least another record not long after the release of the one in 2015. 'Nearly ten years later, we finally got to it. We're in the midst of touring at the moment, we're still finishing off the touring cycle of this last album.' Gary also dismissed suggestions The Libertines are still 'ramshackle' on stage. He said with a laugh: 'It takes a lot of work to be as ramshackle as we are. Most bands will try and be ramshackle, whilst being extremely ramshackle. We actually work really hard at being ramshackle. 'I wouldn't be in anything other than a well-rehearsed band.' Pete's performance with The Libertines at Glastonbury follows the death of his Babyshambles bandmate Patrick Walden last week aged 46. Beyonce blue la la BEYONCE is continuing the Cowboy Carter trend, even when she's not on stage. She wore this sexy blue denim jumpsuit and a hat while out in Paris, joined by her husband Jay-Z. They were at the Louis Vuitton show as part of Men's Fashion Week. As well as getting the best seats in the house, Louis Vuitton Men's creative director Pharrell Williams gave her a bag straight off the runway. Jay has been on the road with Bey for months now and proved he is her No1 fan earlier in the day, when he was seen wearing a T-shirt with her picture on it. I doubt my fella would be so pleased if I came home in a top featuring his mug. Rita does a decent proposal RITA ORA has spoken of her proposal to Taika Waititi, after she broke tradition by getting down on one knee. She said on Davina McCall's Begin Again podcast: 'I just did the whole thing. We were in a hotel room in Palm Springs, like a really nice, fancy one filled up with balloons and cake, which is my favourite thing in the world. 9 'I got the bands made, I didn't want anything too flashy. He's like, 'What the hell is it? Valentine's Day?' I was like, 'Oh no, if you're gonna say no, I'm gonna have to take my clothes off'. 'Anyway, I got down on one knee, and Taika absolutely loved it.' Rita also talked about her friendship with Beyonce and said: 'Being signed to Jay Z, she is my biggest inspiration. She took it upon herself to really look after me, and I still see her. 'She's always been so, so nice and proud, and checking in on my family and friends I've had since childhood, remembering their names. I mean, it's crazy.' Vamps US reunion THE VAMPS have reunited to make their first album for five years. The group have been on hiatus while members pursued solo careers. But now guitarist James Brittain-McVey has revealed they are flying to the US to start work on a new project. On Instagram, he wrote: 'It felt about time to jump on a plane and start writing again! 'I have been looking forward to this moment for years. Being with the boys feels like home. Bring on the next album.' West End Hercules is strong on laughs and classic tunes THE 1997 animated movie is one of Disney's best, so the stakes were high. But I'm pleased to report this West End adaption of Hercules, at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane, does the film justice . . . and then some. 9 From start to finish, the show is surprisingly funny, with jokes landing perfectly from Mount Olympus all the way back down to Earth. The all-female gospel singing muses steal the show with their vocals and camp sass. Hades and Meg are also perfectly cast. Along with Phil, they are given a more adult costume, bringing them further into real life. My only gripe is that in doing so, some of the classic Disney magic is lost. Hades' famous flame hair has been replaced with silver locks, while half-goat, half-man Phil is now all man. But the cast make the characters their own and crowd pleasers come from the original film's score. While the new songs may not be instant classics, I'm pretty sure this show will Go The Distance.
