All the clues and theories about who Glastonbury's mystery Patchwork band is

Metro confirmed recently Patchwork – billed to perform at this year's Glastonbury Festival – is not a 'geriatric' band from South London of the same name… You're welcome. So the question remains: who the hell is it? For the uninitiated, the Glastonbury 2025 line-up with all the stage times dropped yesterday, three weeks before the Worthy Farm opens its gates for another year for headline shows by The 1975, Neil Young and Olivia Rodrigo. Listed in the primetime slot of 6.15pm on Saturday June 28 on the coveted Pyramid Stage – between global superstar Raye and John Fogerty – is a mysterious band no one has ever heard of called Patchwork. This is Glastonbury organisers' idea of a funny tease, which will end up being a famous band or musician's surprise set. The same happened in 2023 when The Churn Ups turned out to be The Foo Fighters, who rocked out on the Pyramid Stage in what was an undisputed festival highlight. But Patchwork is not just a random word: it's a riddle. This is clear if The Churn Ups moniker was anything to go by; prior to Glastonbury 2023 fans linked it to the Foo Fighters, as lead singer Dave Grohl was in a band called Churn when he was a teenager. An X account also started dropping Foo Fighters references in the lead up to the festival. Now, an X account for Patchwork has also cropped up, so keep your eyes peeled for any hints in the coming weeks. But for now, fans have their own ideas about who Patchwork could be… Some fans think Harry Styles could be Patchwork, because, er, he wore a colourful patchwork cardigan once that everyone became obsessed with. The As It Was hitmaker, 31, sparked a TikTok trend of fans recreating his colourful jumper, which he wore in February 2020 while rehearsing. Tenuous, but possible… Just like the Foo Fighters teased they were behind The Churn Ups mystery in June 2023 on their socials, Candida Doyle from Pulp mysteriously talked about her love of patchwork in a recent interview with Jo Whiley, which seems kinda' random. 'I used to do patchwork when I was on tour and I made a really nice bit of patchwork, that's all I can think of right now,' she said… While it seems Pulp are rumoured most years for a Glastonbury surprise set, this year does seem feasible, as the Common People hitmakers have returned with their eighth studio album, More, scheduled to be released on June 6. Before Patchwork was mentioned, US sisters Haim were rumoured to be heading for a secret set at Glastonbury this year, after BBC Radio star Lauren Laverne hinted as much in her BBC Radio show. With their fourth album I Quit dropping in June after Women in Music Pt. II was released five years ago, it seems like a good time for Haim to descend on Worthy Farm. The band has a long history with the festival, having first played in 2013, before slots in 2014, 2017 and 2022. 'They've got summer shows coming up, one is Dreamland Summer Series in Margate on June 27,' Lauren noted on BBC6 Music, before adding: 'What else is happening that weekend? It's a long way to come to go to Margate, not that Margate isn't great…' Now the Patchwork clue is out, fans have pointed to a book of the same name by a writer called Sylvia Haim. However, it seems a little bit of a stretch as they might not be enough of a big deal to warrant the Patchwork tease. But that doesn't mean they won't fill one of the other secret set slots, simply billed at the moment as TBA. Just as with Haim, actor Timothee Chalamet was rumoured to be performing a secret set of Bob Dylan songs before the Patchwork tease. After he wowed critics with his performance as music icon Bob Dylan in the biopic A Complete Unknown, it was reported he is 'likely' to make a surprise appearance. However, this was not thought to be a Pyramid Stage outing, but one for the Acoustic Stage on the Saturday night. The Sun claimed he will appear alongside Dylan tribute band Not Completely Unknown. While that all seems likely, now Patchwork is teased, fans can't help but think of the Blowin' In The Wind hitmaker's famous patchwork jacket, which featured on the cover of his 1976 album, Desire. To add fuel to rumours, the Dune actor bought this very same patchwork jacket in March for over £20,000… While Oasis have said they will not be performing at Glastonbury this year, it would be a very Oasis thing to turn up for a surprise set anyway, wouldn't it? More Trending 'Despite media speculation, Oasis will not be playing Glastonbury 2025 or any other festivals next year,' the brothers said in October. After Noel and Liam Gallagher's years-long feud ended in a massive Oasis tour announcement last year, it's clear stranger things have happened. Where does Patchwork come into this, you may ask…? Well, they patched things up, didn't they? Yeah, okay. Perhaps wishful thinking has got the better of us. Got a story? Rod Stewart, 80, cancels second concert over health 3 weeks before Glastonbury

Sir Rod Stewart has cancelled another Las Vegas gig on doctors orders, after he announced his first postponement on Monday. The Maggie May rocker, 80, took to Instagram with a heartbroken emoji, and apologised for the news, explaining he was recovering from the flu. 'I'm awfully sorry to have to cancel my show on June 5th at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace,' he said. 'My doctor ordered a bit more rest while I recover from the flu. Thanks for your love and understanding.' On Monday June 2, Sir Rod explained he wasn't 'feeling well' so was postponing his gig that evening until June 10. This news will be worrying to some UK fans, who are looking forward to seeing Sir Rod light up Glastonbury Festival's Pyramid Stage for the coveted legends slot on Sunday, June 29. Alongside legends slot performer Sir Rod, headliners include The 1975, Neil Young and Olivia Rodrigo. Sir Rod has divulged a few details of what Glastonbury goers – as well as viewers on the BBC – can expect from his set, including an on stage reunion with his former Faces bandmate, Rolling Stones star Ronnie Wood. While Sir Rod said he was 'proud' to be returning to the Pyramid Stage 22 years after he headlined the festival, the Do Ya Think I'm Sexy? hitmaker did reveal that the gig will cost him '£300,000'. 'It's going to cost me a fortune to do it – £300,000,' the Maggie May singer told Alan Brazil on talkSPORT Breakfast. 'I've got to bring all my band back from America, of course, Glastonbury don't pay for that.' He then added that the cost didn't bother him as the slot was an 'honour': 'But I don't care if it cost me $1million, I would have done it. This is a great honour. It really is the greatest honour.' Posting on social media, following the announcement, Sir Rod said: 'After all these years, I'm proud and ready and more than able to take the stage again to pleasure and titillate my friends at Glastonbury in June. I'll see you there!' Officially launching in 1998 with Tony Bennett's performance the coveted legends slot, taking place every year on the Sunday afternoon of Glastonbury, is considered as prestigious as a headline slot. This comes after the full Glastonbury line-up with timings dropped yesterday. While lots of ticketholders searched for clashes, they were also stumped by a mystery band on the bill called Patchwork – a fake name by Glastonbury organisers to signal a secret set from a famed artist or band. More Trending While US sisters Haim are heavily rumoured, it's also thought Patchwork could in fact be Pulp, as they drop a new album this week. According to pal and collaborator Jools Holland, Sir Rod will be bringing his model railways to the Worthy Farm festival. 'He can't bring the whole set because it's enormous. But whenever he's on tour, he'll have a station building which he will take with him to a hotel,' Jools told The Daily Mirror. Before adding: 'He could create his own little railway that goes around Glastonbury – a little ride-on thing that went up to the Healing Fields, around the jazz tent and back to the Pyramid Stage.' Este Haim reveals ex-boyfriend brutally dumped her over her diabetes

Haim are finally back with new music and for this era, they've put their relationships under the microscope, revealing some brutal breakups. The sister trio — Este, Alana, and Danielle — have mainly kept their romantic lives private, but bad exes are always great material for songs. While chatting to British GQ about their upcoming album, I Quit, Este revealed that one of her boyfriends shockingly broke up with her over her Type 1 diabetes. 'I had a guy break up with me because I said that there was a possibility that our kid would have diabetes,' the 39-year-old musician shared. To Este's surprise, he gave her a brutal response and said: 'Then why are we here?' to which she replied 'What?!' Este has regularly shared her diabetes journey with fans, and while at Glastonbury in 2022, revealed she had once passed out on the side of the stage. She is now engaged to tech entrepreneur Jonathan Levin, posting a snap of the engagement ring in February with a t-shirt which read 'I'm taken'. Her younger sister, Alana, 33, also shared a more recent dating disaster as a man tried to stand in the way of her career. 'I had a boyfriend that gave me an ultimatum between doing Licorice Pizza and staying with him,' she revealed. 'I obviously made the right choice…' The Wire hitmaker was nominated for best actress at the Golden Globes for her role in the film — definitely the right choice. Meanwhile, Danielle, 36, is 'happier than ever' while single and declared she's 'okay alone'. 'Not only okay, but so happy,' she continued. 'Sorry to be that b***h but I'm like, really having a great time being by myself. And now, unless someone's gonna make me so much more happy, I'm good.' Alana said her sister's 'sparkle' had returned as they prepare to release I Quit later this month. More Trending Haim explained the title is not meant to be a negative, instead, it's about quitting the things that no longer serve you. The trio have already dropped three singles from the new album and are heading on a UK tour later this year. They're also heavily rumoured to fill one of Glastonbury's surprise set slots, possibly the set listed as 'Patchwork', which is the name of a novel by a woman named Sylvia Haim. Who is the mystery Glastonbury Patchwork guest? Fans think they have figured it out

It is one of the most fun parts of the Glastonbury lead up year after year. Trying to work out which major star could surprise us all with a performance on the Pyramid Stage. Each year organisers hold back on revealing every single detail on who we will see facing the stage, and 2025 is no different. But this year festival fans seem convinced that they have worked out who the mystery 'Patchwork' guest is on the 2025 line-up. The mystery guest plans to perform on the Pyramid Stage from 6pm to 7pm on the Saturday, and so far a number of big name stars and bands have been thrust into the pool of names being debated. Oasis, Mumford And Sons, Sam Fender, Harry Styles, and Lewis Capaldi have all been mentioned, and fans have their reasons for summarising their guesses. Named only as 'Patchwork' on the official line-up, it has led many to think that - despite their protests - it could be Oasis before they kick off their sold out arena tour this summer. One wrote: 'Patchwork? Oasis I know they've said no, but that doesn't carry a great deal of weight... Patchwork... Patching things up... might be a bit of a reach but MY GOD it would be good.' Others pointed to the book named 'Patchwork' by author Sylvia Haim, to suggest it would be the band HAIM while others were left convinced it was Pulp following the release of their latest album: Maybe even more clear a link: "Patchwork is a German book written by a novelist called Sylvia Haim" — Jamie (@BelishaBeacon25) June 3, 2025 @glastonbury @secretglasto My literary wife has pointed out that Patchwork is a novel by Sylvia Haim, suggesting the Saturday pyramid slot is none other than @HAIMtheband .... What do you think? #glastonbury2025 — Tim Street (@Tims_Pants) June 3, 2025 Hoping Patchwork are Pulp, but the connection to Haim seems quite solid. wondering are they that big a deal to be a secret act? Maybe I'm a bit old and just don't know what's hot 😂 — Surreynurse 🌱FBPE (@Surreynurse1) June 3, 2025 Also on the Pulp thing — Sparra (@andysparra) June 4, 2025 Other guesses included old favourites at Glasto, Coldplay: 'Patchwork' at Glastonbury - quite simple - the old favourites of course...#patchwork#coldplay#Glastonbury — Puffguin Esquire (@PuffguinEsquire) June 3, 2025 But some thought it would be a more out there option, such as Harry Styles, because of a famous outfit choice he once made: The secret is out. Remember THAT @JW_ANDERSON patchwork knit cardigan worn by THE @Harry_Styles? We're happy to confirm that the #TikTok trending sensation is joining our fashion collection in 2021. Read more here: — V&A (@V_and_A) November 21, 2020 My guess (the famous patchwork cardigan) — travelmeerkat (@travelmeerkat) June 3, 2025 Others were very honest by the fact that they simply do not have a clue: Me currently trying to figure out who Patchwork are…#Glastonbury #Glasto — Katey (@kateymania) June 3, 2025 So far it's...A book by Sylvia patching things up.A Wombats patchwork Styles patchwork to do with miss-shapes and with patchwork tattoos.A Mudford and Sons song that may or may not in all 🤷‍♂️ — The Glasto Thingy (@TheGlastoThingy) June 3, 2025 But at least fans now only have a few weeks left to wait and see. Glastonbury has revealed the line-up for this year's event as it announced the headline acts which include The 1975 and Olivia Rodrigo. Also on the bill is Biffy Clyro, Rod Stewart, Busta Rhymes, Raye, The Prodigy, Charli XCX and Nile Rodgers and Chic among others.

Glastonbury 2025: Who is Patchwork? All the theories on mystery headline act

Glastonbury festival has officially announced their full line-up, with over 3,000 performances set to take place between 25th and 27th June. A bunch of new artists have been added to this year's festival, but eagle-eyed fans have spotted a mystery band amongst the line-up. On Saturday night at 6.15pm on the Pyramid stage, slotted in right after John Fogerty and just before Raye and Neil Young, is an act called Patchwork, which no one seems to have heard of. There are a few obscure bands that go by the name of Patchwork - one's a folk group in Canada; another is a hard core band from Tennessee. However, both are unlikely to be performing on the main Glastonbury stage. Glastonbury did something very similar back in 2023 when they hosted an act called Churnups, who ended up being the Foo Fighters. The organisers have said that they won't be providing any further information on the act, leading many to believe that it's definitely a cover up for a real band. So, who could it be? Read on for all the theories behind the mystery act. Fans are convinced that Patchwork is American rock band Haim, made up of sisters Este, Danielle, and Alana Haim. One fan spotted a few clues, which they believe points towards the trio. "Heavily rumoured, then come across these. Coincidence? I suspect @HAIMtheband are Patchwork," they wrote alongside a couple of pictures. The first picture was of an article on the band from 26th April, with the headline: "HAIM stitch a patchwork quilt of rich tones, textures, and colors to explore on Women in Music Pt. III" The second photo was of a book titled Patchwork, written by an author named Sylvia Haim. Haim are due to release their new album I Quit on 20th June, which would make this Glastonbury performance the perfect time to promote some of their new songs. They're also Glasto veterans, having performed there in 2013, 2014, 2017, 2022 and during a virtual Stone Circle set in 2020, so they'll be right at home on the main stage. English rock band Pulp are another contender for who could be the real group behind Glastonbury's mysterious Patchwork. "Are Patchwork Pulp, probably not, am I going to get really excited and believe it's them? Yes. Is it them, no," one fan wrote on X. "Pretty certain 'Patchwork' is gonna be Pulp!!" another said. Pulp was formed in Sheffield in 1978. At their peak, the band consisted of Jarvis Cocker, Russell Senior, Candida Doyle, Nick Banks, Steve Mackey and Mark Webber. The group recently released their first album in 24 years and have been promoting it, so they'd definitely have some new material to perform. They're no strangers to Glastonbury either, and have headlined the Pyramid Stage twice before. According to Casino Beats, the Sheffield band, known for their iconic 1995 Glastonbury headline set, are currently 6/4 to be behind the secret slot. British folk rock band Mumford and Sons are among the list of speculated bands behind the name Patchwork. The group, which is made up of Marcus Mumford, Ben Lovett, Ted Dwane, and Winston Marshall, are going on their Railroad Revival tour of the US on 3rd August, so they could have time to squeeze in a little Glasto performance before it kicks off. The group are currently 8/1 to be revealed as Patchwork, however, earlier this year they said that they wouldn't be heading to Somerset for the festival, after headlining in 2013. They could change their mind or perhaps that was a decoy... Some other names have been dropped when it comes to the mystery of Patchwork, including Ed Sheeran (3/1) Lewis Capaldi (9/2) Harry Styles and Oasis who are both priced at 6/1. Recent betting odds place Lorde at 8/1, Sam Fender at 10/1, Lady Gaga at 14/1, Robbie Williams at 16/1, and Taylor Swift at 25/1, as contenders for the surprise slot. We'll update you right here once we know more about Patchwork. Glastonbury will take place at Worthy Farm, Somerset, from 25th June to 27th June.
