The Hidden Hands-On Inspection All Rangers Must Pass
The customer acceptance line is a six-step process that every Ranger and Ranger Raptor passes through before being shipped around the world. It involves artificial intelligence checks, paint and panel inspection, interior and lighting, electrical and a run around a 320-metre long, seven surface squeak-and-rattle track.
Here are the six steps: Dark Room With all the lights switched off, inspectors check head and tail lamps, the instrument cluster, SYNC2 screen and all interior lighting for brightness and alignment. Hands-On Inspection Inspectors run their hands across every surface, tracing the contours for any imperfections, while also ensuring precise panel alignment. Every button, switch, and control is pressed, poked, clicked and pulled. Systems Check Comprehensive diagnostic checks ensure the electrical components are connected correctly. AI Eyes Ford's mobile artificial intelligence vision system (MAIVS) uses advanced algorithms to scan the exterior of the vehicle for any flaws, like missing or crooked badges. Rainstorm Simulation The Leak Test stimulates a five-minute monsoonal downpour. High-pressure water jets blast the vehicle from every angle. Every light and seal is inspected for water tightness. The water used is treated and reused for subsequent tests. Squeak-and-Rattle Track
Featuring everything from uneven cobblestones to angled irons, the squeak-and-rattle track simulates a variety of real-world driving surfaces to ensure there are no unwanted noises and that the suspension and steering operates exactly as it should.
Disclaimers 1 The described processes are representative of Ford's quality control procedures and may vary slightly depending on the manufacturing location and specific model. Individual vehicle condition may vary.

Ford Unveils All-Electric Bronco
TDT | Agencies The New Energy SUV model is for Chinese market The Ford Bronco, one of America's most iconic SUVs, is now going electric. Ford has officially revealed the Bronco New Energy, an electrified version of the off-roader, which will initially be available only in China. The Bronco New Energy will be offered with two powertrain options — a fully electric (EV) and an extended-range electric vehicle (EREV). Unlike the ladder-frame original, the Bronco EV adopts a larger unibody design and features battery technology supplied by BYD. This new five-seater SUV measures 5,025 mm in length, 1,960 mm in width, and 1,815 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,950 mm. Design-wise, it bears resemblance to the Bronco Sport and includes a tailgate-mounted spare tyre. The fully electric version houses a 105.4 kWh battery pack, offering a claimed range of 650 km under the CLTC cycle. It features an all-wheel-drive setup powered by dual electric motors that generate a combined output of 311 BHP and a top speed of 170 km/h. The extended-range version combines two electric motors with a 1.5-litre petrol engine producing 147 BHP. As an EREV, the engine does not drive the wheels but serves as a generator to recharge the 43.7 kWh battery or support the motors. This version can travel 220 km on electric power alone, with a total range of up to 1,220 km when factoring in the petrol engine. The Bronco New Energy will be built by Jiangling Motors Corporation (JMC), Ford's local joint venture partner in Jiangxi province. The SUV is expected to hit the Chinese market in the fourth quarter of this year.

Manual gearboxes are history, says Hyundai's performance chief
TDT | agencies The era of manual gearboxes is effectively over, according to Tyone Johnson, Managing Director of Hyundai's Europe Technical Centre in Germany. In a recent interview, Johnson praised the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N for delivering unmatched driving pleasure and claimed, 'Nobody wants manual gearboxes anymore.' He also noted that modern buyers have little interest in manual handbrakes or analogue dials. Johnson believes EVs like the Ioniq 5 N will eventually win over even reluctant enthusiasts, despite their attachment to petrol power. He argued the internal combustion engine's decline shouldn't be mourned, calling most combustion performance cars 'miles away – a disappointment' compared to the Ioniq 5 N. Acknowledging the emotional appeal of traditional cars, he said, 'I understand some people want the sounds, vibrations — those sensory inputs help the brain understand what's going on.' As a result, artificial sounds are now integrated into EVs to mimic the feedback of combustion engines. In his view, EVs have progressed more in a decade than combustion cars did in a century. With a background in Ford and Jaguar's F1 and rally programmes — including the 1992 Mustang Shelby — Johnson said: 'I'm a performance guy. If you want to go fast, there's nothing better than an EV. I don't understand the nostalgia.'

These Are The Favorite Car Brands Of The Ultra-Rich
What car brands do America's wealthiest drivers prefer? While luxury brands may come to mind, data compiled by S&P Global Mobility highlights some interesting findings. In this graphic, Visual Capitalist's Marcu Lu ranks the favorite car brands of the ultra-rich, based on each brand's percentage share of new registrations in the United States. To come up with this analysis, S&P Global Mobility combined income data from the U.S. Census with their own vehicle registration and loyalty data. Ultra-wealthy households are defined as those with annual income of over $500,000. Rank Brand Ultra-Wealthy Market Share(% of new registrations) National Average Market Share(% of new registrations) 1 🇺🇸 Tesla 19.3 4.7 2 🇩🇪 BMW 9.9 2.4 3 🇩🇪 Mercedes-Benz 8.7 1.9 4 🇬🇧 Land Rover 5.8 0.6 5 🇯🇵 Toyota 4.6 14.0 6 🇩🇪 Audi 4.6 1.2 7 🇺🇸 Ford 4.1 9.3 8 🇯🇵 Lexus 3.9 2.6 9 🇩🇪 Porsche 3.9 0.4 10 🇺🇸 Rivian 3.4 0.3 Tesla is the most popular brand among America's ultra-rich, accounting for an impressive 19.3% of new vehicle registrations. This popularity is likely due to Tesla's blend of technology and electric performance, which may resonate with wealthy buyers who value innovation and sustainability. In fact, the ultra-rich are 17.5 percentage points more likely to buy an EV than the average American (85.1% vs 67.7%). This might explain why Rivian, a relatively new car brand, is #10 in this ranking with a 3.4% market share among ultra-rich. Mainstream brands like Toyota and Ford continue to hold strong appeal among America's ultra-rich. These brands can deliver a more practical and reliable experience, and are among the cheapest car brands to own and maintain. Another interesting stat: the Ford F-series pickup truck is the best-selling vehicle in 24 U.S. states.
