Victoria Beckham's ‘body-image issues will feature in upcoming documentary'

Victoria Beckham's 'body-image issues' will reportedly feature in her upcoming documentary. The 51-year-old former Spice Girl is putting out a new Netflix docuseries which premieres in September, and insiders say it will involve the singer-turned-fashion designer speaking candidly about the impact of decades of pressure from being in the public eye. Page Six reported the show 'reveals how years of negative attention led to body-image issues and a restricted diet'. An industry insider told the outlet: 'When you look back in hindsight at the media environment in the '90s, it was super hard. 'There was a huge scrutiny on Victoria's appearance and her weight. 'I think the audience will have some understanding of what she went through.' Victoria has already admitted 'there are tears' in the footage of her three-part show, adding to Bloomberg: 'And it did occur to me the other day, what am I going to think when I see those tears on a huge screen? Or on an iPhone?' Titled Victoria Beckham, the series follows Victoria as she prepares to stage the largest fashion show of her career during Paris Fashion Week in September 2024 for her eponymous brand. Her husband, David Beckham, 50, and their children make brief appearances, including Brooklyn, 25, and his wife Nicola Peltz, 30, though the footage was filmed before the family's reported recent estrangement. Victoria's mis-treatment by the public and British media has already been shown in the 2023 Emmy-winning Netflix docuseries Beckham about her husband David. It saw her recall being the subject of X-rated chants from crowds at his soccer games, saying, 'It's embarrassing, it's hurtful.' Sources also told Page Six her new documentary will see Victoria looking back on archival footage including when TV presenter Chris Evans pushed her to be weighed live on air in 1999 — just two months after she gave birth to Brooklyn. David has said on the River Cafe Table 4 podcast about Victoria's strict diet: 'Unfortunately I'm married to someone that has eaten the same thing for the last 25 years. Since I met her she only eats grilled fish, steamed vegetables. She will very rarely deviate from that.' She has revealed her occasional indulgence is tequila. The new documentary is also set to chart Victoria's journey from Posh Spice to fashion designer, highlighting her struggles to establish and sustain her brand. Victoria told Bloomberg: 'I've been very defined by a four-year period in my life when I was in the Spice Girls. And I am so proud of that. But with that came all the preconceptions. 'I've been in the fashion industry creating my own collections for nearly 20 years. And it's taken this long for me to feel confident enough in what I do and my brand, knowing that now is the time that I can talk about my past.'

Sydney Sweeney's new movie ‘Americana' bombs at box office

Sydney Sweeney's new movie took a tumble at the box office in the wake of backlash stemming from the actress's recent ad campaign with retailer American Eagle. 'Americana,' which Sweeney stars in alongside Paul Walter Hauser and Halsey, opened to an estimated $500,000 at the box office after debuting in 1,100 nationwide, according to The Hollywood Reporter. In comparison, current blockbusters 'Weapons,' 'Freakier Friday' and 'Nobody 2' recently reeled in an estimated $25 million, $14.5 million and $9.3 million, respectively. The 'Euphoria' star came under fire last month after her new ad campaign, 'Sydney Has Great Jeans,' a play on 'good genes,' debuted for the popular clothing retailer. Some criticized the jeans campaign, featuring the blond-haired, blue-eyed actress, as having racist undertones. 'Genes are passed down from parents to offspring, often determining traits like hair color, personality, and even eye color,' Sweeney says in one video. 'My jeans are blue.' President Trump eventually waded into the discourse in defense of Sweeney. 'Sydney Sweeney, a registered Republican, has the 'HOTTEST' ad out there. It's for American Eagle, and the jeans are 'flying off the shelves.' Go get 'em Sydney!' Trump said in a Truth Social post. Did Sweeney's controversial ads play a role in the film's less-than-stellar opening? Deadline notes that while it may have had an impact, the film was never projected to be a major blockbuster hit and is still expected to be profitable for Lionsgate.

Terence Stamp, General Zod in 'Superman' and 'Billy Budd,' dead at 87

Terence Stamp, the British actor known for his roles in "Billy Budd," "Superman" and "The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert," has died. He was 87. Stamp's death on Sunday was disclosed in a death notice published online, according to The Associated Press. "He leaves behind an extraordinary body of work, both as an actor and as a writer that will continue to touch and inspire people for years to come," his family said in a statement to Reuters. Throughout his six-decade career, Stamp — who was nominated for an Oscar for his film debut role in the 1962 film "Billy Budd" — made a name for himself with roles such as General Zod in "Superman" and "Superman II," Freddie Clegg in "The Collector," and Sergeant Troy in "Far From the Madding Crowd." A representative for Stamp did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment. Born in London in 1938, Stamp found his passion for film at a young age. His father was in the Merchant Navy and spent much of Stamp's childhood away from the family. As a child, Stamp experienced the World War II bombing of London. "The first film I ever saw was called 'Beau Geste,' with Gary Cooper," he told BFI in 2013. "My mother took me to see that. I was probably under 4 years old. It was Cooper playing a soldier in the Foreign Legion. I didn't realize the impact, but it made an indelible impression on me." "It wasn't until we got our first TV — I would've been about 17 I think, and I was already at work — that I started saying things like, 'Oh, I could do that,'" he told BFI. "My dad just turned me off it. He was probably trying to save me a lot of aggro. He genuinely believed that people like us didn't do things like that." After scoring a Golden Globe Award for his role in "Billy Budd," Stamp became one of the most sought-out actors in the 60s. However, everything seemed to take a turn as a new decade approached. "It's a mystery to me," he told The Guardian in 2015. "I was in my prime. When the 1960s ended, I just ended with it. I remember my agent telling me: 'They are all looking for a young Terence Stamp.' And I thought: 'I am young.' I was 31, 32. I couldn't believe it." "During that time away from the screen, I had transmuted myself," he added. "I no longer saw myself as a leading man. What had happened inside of me enabled me to take the role and not feel embarrassed or depressed about playing the villain. I just decided I was a character actor now and I can do anything." After starring opposite Christopher Reeve in the 1978 "Superman," work picked up for Stamp with roles in the 1984 film "The Hit," 1986's "Legal Eagles," Oliver Stone's 1987 "Wall Street," "Star Wars: Episode I — The Phantom Menace," and more. Stamp was married to Elizabeth O'Rourke from 2002-08. He did not have children.
