Minjee Lee wins Rolex Annika Major Award as season's top performer in women's majors
Minjee Lee's putting resurgence has resulted in another win: the Rolex Annika Major Award. The Aussie becomes the first two-time winner of the award since its inception in 2014. Points are earned by placing top-10 finishes in majors. Lee finished with 78 points through the five major championships of the 2025 season, winning the 2025 KPMG Women's PGA Championship. She also finished in a share of third at the Amundi Evian Championship. Mao Saigo, winner of the Chevron Championship, finished four points back. Players must win a major to be eligible for the award. Lee also won the RAMA in 2022 after winning the U.S. Women's Open and recording two additional top-five finishes at the KPMG Women's PGA Championship (T2) and AIG Women's Open (T4). Lee was asked on Sunday at the AIG Women's British Open to rate her performance at the majors this season. "I think from where I was at the beginning of the year, and obviously winning KPMG and played Chevron and had a good finish at Evian and all right at U.S. Open and all right here," said Lee. "So I feel like I – I'm going to say I've done pretty well. Maybe like an 8½." Prior to the KPMG, Lee hadn't won since the fall of 2023, and her resurgence of late can be traced back to one club: the long putter. She put it in play at the start of the season at the urging of longtime coach Ritchie Smith. Lee's Strokes Gained: Putting in 2024 was a dismal 137th. She finished first in the field at the KPMG Women's PGA and is currently fourth in SGP. 'Just changing to the broomstick has given me a lot more freedom, I think,' she said in Texas. 'I was just – I guess I just had a lot of thoughts, and just I was overthinking probably about just the conventional way of putting. 'I think just taking my hands a little more out of it and using the broomstick has really been helping me.'

Charley Hull dazzles despite her tee shot nearly hitting Minjee Lee at Women's British Open
With seven birdies in her first 13 holes, Charley Hull lit up crowds early Saturday during the third round of the 2025 AIG Women's British Open at Royal Porthcawl in Wales. The round started off with a bit of an "oops" moment, however, when Hull hit a wayward tee shot off the fourth tee that almost hit Minjee Lee as Lee prepared to tee off the 17th. "Nearly took Minjee out," said Dame Laura Davies from the booth. Hull went on to par the hole and then rattled off three consecutive birdies. "When I hit it, I shouted fore right, but I said hope it's on the tee box and it was so, it was all right," said Hull. "I like Minjee. I wouldn't want to take her out." Hull posted a 6-under 66 with 23 putts to jump up the board. As of 1:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, Hull was three back and in a share of fourth with Megan Khang and Minami Katsu, who shot 65. "I like hunting someone down," said Hull, who entered the tournament with question marks due to her health. Hull left the last major championship on a stretcher after coming down with a virus and then recently tweaked her back getting a box out of her car. She lost weight and swing speed during recovery and probably didn't have huge expectations for the week, especially given her dislike of links golf. And yet, there she is, solidly in position to make a run on Sunday. It's been quite a run for English players of late, with Georgia Hall sitting in a share of eighth at 4 under after a 68 and Mimi Rhodes T-10 at 3 under alongside compatriot Lottie Woad, who shot 71 on Saturday. "It being so close to home, yeah, I've had so much family out here supporting and cheering for me," said Rhodes. "Honestly, it's just been better than a dream come true."
