Seven star Larry Emdur jokingly threatens to slap his co-host's face after trying to solve brain-teaser that stumped top Aussie sport stars - and there's an annoyingly simple answer
Channel 7 broadcaster Larry Emdur has jokingly claimed he was about to slap his co-host Liam Tapper in the face after the latter left him and Kylie Gillies stumped with a brain-teaser challenge on live television.
Introducing the segment, Tapper revealed on The Morning Show that several members of Australian V8 Supercars team, Red Bull Ampole Racing, had been attempting the challenge but had been left perplexed.
Tapper described the challenge, stating that participants are asked to get a piece of A4 paper, cut a hole in the middle of it and then poke their head through the hole without breaking the paper.
The supercars drivers shared their results on TikTok but none of them could figure out how to complete the challenge.
Tapper, then challenged Emdur and Gillies to the brain-teaser, but the pair were equally left stumped.
'Liam, can I ask you a question? You've seen my ears,' Emdur joked.
'You have to poke your head through the hole,' Liam said before, Gillies folded the piece of paper in half and put it under her chin.
'I think it's got to be something like this,' she said.
Emdur went on to pull the entire piece of paper down over his head, tearing it in the process.
That was when Tapper stepped in to show them how to complete the move, grabbing a piece of paper and poking his finger onto his forehead, through the hole - much to the frustration of his co-hosts.
'I learned this not just from the Red Bull team but also because of being a dad, so I would have thought you'd have been across this Larry,' Tapper began.
'Poke your head through the hole,' he said laughing at the play on words.
Emdur then addressed his co-host, joking: 'Liam, Liam, this is not fricking Romper Room, mate!'
'You don't seem that impressed Larry,' Tapper said.
Upon revealing how to complete the challenge Emdur (left) was left stumped but joked he was going to 'slap Tapper's face through the hole'
'Liam, we are the top-rated morning show in all of Australasia,' Emdur said.
He then said firmly tongue-in-cheek: 'If you do something like that again I'm going to slap your face through the hole.
'That was good I quite liked that.'

All The Amazing Filming Locations In 'The Survivors', Netflix's New Thriller
There's nothing like a tense murder mystery to keep us glued to our screens, and Netflix's new crime series, The Survivors, has filled the gap in our TV schedules. If you haven't heard of The Survivors, the Australian drama flicks between the past and the present to tell the story of a coastal town, Evelyn Bay, that has been rocked with tragic deaths. The show is based on a bestselling novel by Jane Harper, and follows the story of Kieran Elliot, played by Charlie Vickers, as he returns to his hometown 15 years after losing his brother at sea in a storm. But on arriving back, he is met with another tragedy - a girl's body discovered on the beach. But alongside its twisty-turny storyline, something else has struck viewers: the gorgeous filming location. Think golden beaches, mysterious caves and rocky cliffs. Yerin Ha, who stars in the show, recently shared an Instagram post featuring some of the beautiful filming locations. As Ha's Instagram post suggests, the show was mostly filmed in Tasmania, but the production used several different locations to bring the action to life. Evelyn Bay is an entirely fictional town, which meant the crew has to get creative about where they filmed the series. Speaking with Tudum, Tony Ayres, the creator of The Survivors, said 'Evelyn Bay doesn't actually exist. Jane [Harper] made it up out of a number of different place.' The town of Evelyn Bay is bought to life through locations around Hobart, which is the capital city of Tasmania. Hobart has an urban landscape with a small population that strikes the right balance between nature and city, which the crew thought was perfect for the story. The Survivors. Cr. The eerie, remote locations, menacing cliffs and underpopulated areas work to represent the dangers the characters face, and adds to the sense of mystery that shrouds the town. According to Netflix's' Tudum, filming also took place at Eaglehawk Neck. Eaglehawk Neck is a small village which is about a 77km drive from Hobart, and hosts an impressive rocky shoreline. The Survivors. Cr. Courtesy of Netflix © 2025 ©Netflix Tony Ayres said that Eaglehawk Neck has 'such a gothic landscape. It's cliffs and sea caves and this pounding ocean. It really is so spectacular.' In another interview with Variety, Ayres explained why Eagle Hawk was the perfect place to film the show. 'It became very clear once we found Eagle Hawk Neck and the spectacular landscapes that the locations were going to be crucial to not just the tone of the show, but the themes of the show,' he told the outlet, adding that the landscape became integral to the story. 'We peppered the series all the way through with images from this sort of sense of foreboding that you have when you're standing on those cliff tops and seeing the caves and the ocean, the ferocity of the ocean, all of those things felt absolutely that they became emblematic of the storm, but also they felt metaphoric for the themes of the series,' he said. Alongside Eagle Hawk, some of the beach scenes were done at Freycinet Peninsula, which is part of Freycinet National Park and a place of great natural beauty. The area consists of dramatic mountain ranges and rocky cliffs which are integral to the show's atmosphere. One of these locations is Great Oyster Bay, which has breathtaking views of Schouten Island and the Hazards mountain range. Along with Tasmania, filming for The Survivors also took place in Docklands Studios in Melbourne. This location was mostly used for the interior shots, which allowed the crew to have more control over their environments. The studio is kitted out with six stages including two with waterproof pits, making it an ideal location for recreating the shows at-sea scenes. Alice Hall is the Staff Writer at Grazia UK. BBC star comes clean on Nick Kyrgios feud and Wimbledon row – ‘Embarrassed me'
Nick Kyrgios was a hit in the commentary box during Wimbledon last year – but the Australian has reportedly been left off the BBC's broadcast team for the upcoming tournament Andrew Castle has shed light on his rumoured frosty relations with Nick Kyrgios, who previously labelled the seasoned Wimbledon commentator a "clown." Despite being a fan-favourite in the commentary booth last summer, Kyrgios is not expected to return to the BBC's coverage of this year's tournament at SW19. The outspoken Australian, often dubbed the 'bad boy' of tennis, temporarily traded his racket for a microphone in 2024 after an injury forced him out of action. Ongoing fitness concerns have ruled him out again this year, but the BBC has decided against re-inviting him to the panel, according to The Telegraph. That means viewers won't see a repeat of last year's pre-tournament friction between him and Castle, 61, with the action set to get underway on June 30. Still, the former British No. 1 has downplayed any talk of animosity, suggesting their feud was in fact exaggerated. "I didn't have any tense encounters and nor did he," Castle told The Express, via Globusbet. "Nick said something on Twitter about me and he got told that it's not the way to be." Kyrgios, never shy about voicing his thoughts, caused a stir during the 2023 Wimbledon final between Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic. Using X (formerly known as Twitter), he slammed Castle for allegedly interrupting the commentary too frequently and accused him of failing to remain quiet during key moments. "Whoever is the clown next to [Todd] Woodbridge in that commentator box needs to just not speak, spoiling the match big time," Kyrgios posted. Castle, who later labelled Kyrgios the "golden boy" of clickbait, admitted he felt "embarrassed" after reading the comment but didn't dwell on it. "I said to him that he embarrassed me there and he said, 'Oh mate.' That was it," Castle recalled. "I stand by what I said about where we were in the match he commented on. Nick said something online and there's so much attention on Wimbledon and on his Twitter feed that people make something up that isn't there." Their verbal sparring continued into the following year. While working alongside Castle on the BBC team, Kyrgios slammed him again, calling him "disrespectful" for his commentary on a showdown between Alexander Zverev and Taylor Fritz – a match highlighted more by booming serves than extended rallies. During that broadcast, Castle remarked: "You can't say it's been the most captivating tennis, to be frank." Kyrgios responded swiftly on social media. "'Not captivating' – was a comment from a commentator who is doing the Zverev and Fritz match," he wrote. "This alone tells me that they have probably never played tennis at a high level. Two of the most elite servers we have. Quite disrespectful. C'mon be better." Castle, once again, chose not to take the post personally. He even complimented Kyrgios for his contributions in the commentary box, praising his natural communication skills and knowledge of the sport. "I like working with Nick, he did a great job at last year's final," Castle said. "It was my 21st final and he slotted right in with Tim [Henman] and I – his delivery is really good for tennis. "He picks things up, knows when to speak and obviously knows what he is talking about so that was great. We talked a little bit about being careful [with what he posts online] and he said, 'Sure, it's over.' So that's it." Though Kyrgios has never captured a Grand Slam title, he came closest at Wimbledon in 2022, advancing to the final before losing to Djokovic in four sets. That match is perhaps best remembered for Kyrgios' infamous "700 drinks" tirade aimed at a spectator he said was distracting him. Since then, he has struggled with recurring injuries, appearing in only two Grand Slams over the last three seasons. His comeback at the Australian Open this January ended quickly with a straight-sets loss to British up-and-comer Jacob Fearnley in round one.
