
QPIAI to partner in AmAravati Quantum Valley
QPIAI will install an advanced 8-qubit quantum computer in the Amaravati Quantum Valley, as discussed in a meeting between Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and QPIAI founder Nagendra Nagarajan.
Chief Minister Naidu emphasised that the Quantum Valley should foster innovations for public benefit and support student research. He urged QPIAI to establish a Center of Excellence in Amaravati to enable students, researchers, and startups to develop quantum algorithms and applications.
Naidu highlighted the potential of quantum computing to transform sectors in Andhra Pradesh, particularly in precision farming by predicting pest-related issues to boost farmers' incomes through timely agricultural advice. He also stressed its application in efficient water resource management.
The Andhra Pradesh government plans to leverage quantum simulations for advancements in disease diagnosis and medical logistics. Additionally, the state aims to integrate quantum technology into skill development programs to empower youth and enhance social and economic conditions through modern technologies.
Chief Minister Naidu affirmed that QPIAI, the National Quantum Mission, and Amaravati Quantum Valley will collaborate to deliver significant societal benefits through deep tech in education, research, and innovation.

Abdul Kalam, the Governor reminded students that FAIL stands for 'First Attempt In Learning,' END means 'Effort Never Dies,' and NO signifies 'Next Opportunity.' A total of 2,122 students received degrees, with 60 awarded gold medals. Honorary doctorates were conferred upon Chintalapati Srinivasaraju (iLabs), Ashok Atluri (Zen Technologies), and Komanduri Ramachari (music composer and educator). Chairman Lavu Rathaiah, Vice Chairman Lavu Srikrishnadevarayalu, and other dignitaries underscored the importance of ethical innovation and called for a national shift from 'Make in India' to 'Invent and Lead from India.' The event concluded on a note of pride and celebration, as graduates in traditional attire pledged their commitment to the nation's progress.

Karnataka's Quantum computing push is not just about Bengaluru, but about anchoring quantum-led innovation across emerging tech clusters in Mysuru, Mangaluru, and Hubballi, as the technology has the power to transcend metro boundaries to unlock entrepreneurship, advanced R&D, and high-value employment across the State, said Sanjeev Kumar Gupta, CEO, Karnataka Digital Economy Mission (KDEM). He was speaking at the Quantum India Bengaluru (QIB) 2025, held over two days to highlight Karnataka's growing leadership in quantum science and technology. The State would soon have the most comprehensive quantum ecosystem, anticipated by many experts who spoke at the event on Friday. The summit featured 24 multi-track sessions across five thematic streams, from Finance to Arts. It also had participation from over 20 academic institutions, deep-tech startups, and research labs. Diverse speakers highlighted the importance of large-scale reskilling initiatives to support translational deep-tech growth across quantum computing, communication, and sensing (mostly in healthcare and surveillance) to develop India's own quantum technologies. A poster showcase featured more than 41 research posters from scholars and doctoral researchers, providing diverse perspectives in areas such as quantum algorithms, hardware, and cryptography. Winners of the poster awards who each received a prize of ₹20,000, included Shuvarati Roy, Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Pune; Kanad Sengupta, Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru; Ayan Majumder, Indian Institute of Technology-Bombay; Purna Pal, Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru. It event was jointly organised by the Karnataka Science and Technology Promotion Society (KSTePS) and the Department of Science and Technology, State Government, in collaboration with the IISc Quantum Technology Initiative (IQTI), in alignment with the National Quantum Mission.
