Sébastien Ogier and co-driver Vincent Landais battled through to the final stage to claim victory in the No. 17 Toyota GR YARIS Rally1. With his fifth victory at the event, Sébastien Ogier becomes its most successful driver since the FIA World Rally Championship began visiting Sardinia in 2004. This also marks his third win from four starts this season.Teammates Kalle Rovanperä and Jonne Halttunen once again secured a double podium finish by placing third in the No. 69 Toyota GR YARIS Rally1. This year, we had a close call in the Power Stage, and Seb redeemed himself! It's a wonderful fifth victory for him in Sardinia. I am very thankful to Seb and Vincent. The team experienced several issues, but I'm also happy that all five cars completed the rally without any retirements and made it back to the finish. Being challenged on such a tough road helps us become stronger. And TOYOTA GAZOO Racing will continue to make ever-better cars as we overcome obstacles one by one through rally stages.'This year's edition of the Italian island event lived up to its reputation, with ambient temperatures exceeding 30 degrees Celsius and rough, rocky roads pushing drivers, vehicles, and tires to their limits. Despite this, Sébastien Ogier and co-driver Vincent Landais delivered a strong performance to seize a narrow lead in the final stage of the opening day.The battle for victory intensified during the penultimate day, with Ogier engaging in a close contest. He carried an 11.1-second lead into the final day, which featured a pair of new stages run twice. Ogier extended his advantage in the morning after setting the fastest time in the opening stage. A brief scare came in the Power Stage when a half-spin towards a tree forced him to reverse in deep ruts, but he recovered to seal victory by 7.9 seconds.Kalle Rovanperä and Jonne Halttunen completed a double podium for the team with a third-place finish. After running second on the road during the opening day, they maintained consistent pace and avoided issues, saving their best for the rally-ending Power Stage, which they won by 8.1 seconds to also top the Super Sunday classification.Over the years, Toyota has been participating in many different forms of motorsports, including Formula One, the World Endurance Championship (WEC), and the Nürburgring 24 ‎Hours endurance race. Dramatic late goals and penalty triumph hand PSG first UEFA Super Cup

AMMAN — Paris Saint-Germain became the first French side to lift the UEFA Super Cup after a dramatic 4-3 penalty shoot-out win over Tottenham Hotspur in Italy on Wednesday, following a 2-2 draw in normal time at the Bluenergy Stadium. Tottenham were the sharper side for much of the contest, dominating the first hour and striking twice through Micky van de Ven in the 39th minute and Cristian Romero's header from a set piece early in the second half. Richarlison also came close on two occasions before Van de Ven pounced on a rebound to break the deadlock. Romero's goal, assisted by Pedro Porro, doubled the advantage shortly after the restart. PSG struggled to create clear chances for long spells but a quadruple substitution from coach Luis Enrique changed the momentum. Substitute Lee Kang-in pulled one back on 85 minutes with a precise low shot from outside the area, before fellow substitute Goncalo Ramos equalised in stoppage time, turning in Ousmane Dembele's cross. With the match skipping extra time, the shoot-out saw PSG goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier make the difference, securing a 4-3 victory. Dembele was named player of the match for his decisive impact. Enrique acknowledged that Tottenham had been the stronger side for much of the game but expressed delight at his team's resilience and the joy the win would bring to supporters. New Spurs boss Thomas Frank noted that his side had the match under control until the late PSG goals, but took encouragement from the overall performance.

Liverpool Prepare €60M Bid for Barcelona's Defensive Rock

Liverpool are looking at Barcelona's Ronald Araujo as a possible defensive addition this summer, with a deal worth about €60 million being considered. Although Marc Guehi is the Reds' main target, Araujo has emerged as a solid option if talks for the Crystal Palace defender don't progress. Araujo's rise at Barcelona Since joining Barcelona's first team almost five years ago, Araujo has gained recognition as one of the most dependable centre-backs in Europe. The 26-year-old has made over 150 appearances for the Catalan side, scoring 10 goals and providing 7 assists. On the international level, Araujo has become a key player for Uruguay's defense, raising his profile and drawing interest from several top Premier League teams. Why Liverpool are in the market Liverpool wants a centre-back due to several squad issues. Ibrahima Konaté's contract is in its final year, Virgil van Dijk is approaching the end of his career, and Joe Gomez has faced ongoing injury problems. The situation worsened earlier this summer when Jarell Quansah moved to Bayer Leverkusen, leaving new head coach Arne Slot with only three senior centre-backs. A deal in the works? Although Guehi remains the priority, Liverpool have also considered other options after reportedly having two bids turned down for the England international. According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, the Reds are now preparing a formal €60 million offer for Araujo, hoping to entice Barcelona into discussions. Whether the Uruguayan defender decides to join the Premier League or stay at Camp Nou could be one of the summer's most interesting transfer stories.
