Woman spots £65 an hour cat sitting job ad and description is hilarious
A job advertisement has gone viral online after people noticed the impressive £65 an hour pay and description, including the bizarre daily requirements needed from the person
Many will be well aware that the job market is challenging at the moment, as several job seekers has expressed their frustrations in not even getting invited for interviews for the roles they've applied for.
While the unemployment rate in the UK remains stable, while wage growth continues, vacancies are declining and have recently fallen below pre-pandemic levels, according to the Office of National Statistics. Because of this, most vacancies will be highly competitive, with many having to apply to jobs outside of their expertise in order to make a living. So when an unusual yet well-paying job hits the job boards, there's no doubt it'll be popular.
Recruiter Felicity Abbott, owner of recruitment company Found by Felicity, took to TikTok to share a job advert she had come across when browsing through Guardian Jobs, which quickly gained a lot of attraction due to the bizarre description of the daily requirements.
"Okay so this is the funniest job ad I've ever seen," Felicity said before explaining what it was for. "So this is for a cat sitter in London, up to £65 an hour, part time or full time. The client is a British shorthair cat, so you're gonna be looking after this cat."
With the job being located in Covent Garden in London, she went on to describe some of the work tasks that came with the job.
"So, consistent attention for the cat, providing them with fresh milk and food daily. Cats actually shouldn't drink milk cause they're lactose intolerant, Felicity said. "Groom them, and then every Friday you're gonna play them classical music in the office. And then once a month, you're gonna visit Harrods to buy toys for the cat."
"So for £65 an hour, you can basically play piano to a cat and go shopping, so this cat has a better life than most people," she told her viewers..
Hundreds of people soon took to the comment section of the video, with many claiming they'd love the job, even if it meant having a cat as your boss.
"Ngl [not going to lie] there's not much I wouldn't do for £45 an hour let alone £65," one person said in the comments.
Another person shared: "Professional pet sitter here!!! Most won't even pay £6 a visit lol."
"That's ridiculous where do I apply?" said a third viewer, as another pointed out: "they're rich enough for their cat to have its own butler."
"Coming from someone who had a British shorthair and he only drank Evian. This is absolutely understandable," one cat owner wrote in the comment section.
Many also shared that they'd love to get the job, as one wrote: "I would travel for this job. Like willing to do a 2hr commute"
Another person shared their heartbreak, writing: "Just redid my cv and write a cover letter to find out they've closed the listing, it was supposed to close on the 7th of June."

Secret Lives Of Mormon Wives stars want series to show ‘we are normal'
The first season of the hit reality series followed a group of Mormon influencers based in Utah in the US, caught in the midst of a sex-swinging scandal. Mormonism is a restorationist Christian movement which discourages alcohol, tobacco and caffeine, as well as sex outside marriage. Ngatikaura and Whitney Leavitt discussed the show's next season on ITV's This Morning and explained that the series followed the creation of 'MomTok' – a collective of women who make videos on TikTok. 'MomTok is a group of women. We all did social media together, and it started out just a group of mums getting together and making fun videos on social media, and then it turned into what it is today, which is crazy,' said Leavitt. She added: 'I think what's really cool about this whole group is that all of us live it a little bit differently, like some maybe a little bit more than others. 'So hopefully someone who's watching can relate to one of us, but yeah, no drinking coffee, no premarital sex, dress modestly, no tattoos.' Ngatikaura left the church and said there are women 'of different faith levels' on the show. 'I left about five, six years ago, but my family is Mormon, my friends are Mormon, so I'm still in the culture,' she said. 'It just wasn't for me. But I love that about our show, is that we have so many different faith levels. 'So we showcase someone who is super active, someone who is not any more, which I think is relatable to any religion.' This Morning presenter Paddy McGuinness said it is 'good to talk' about Mormonism so people know 'it's not what you think it is when you see the films'. Ngatikaura responded: 'We wanted to show that because everyone thinks Mormons are like pilgrims and sister wives and we can't do anything, but we showcase that we are just normal people.' Season two follows the lives of the women after the success of season one and sees Miranda McWhorter join the series 'to set the record straight on the swinging scandal'. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints officially condemns polygamy but there are other groups, referred to as 'Mormon fundamentalists', who engage in the practice. The Secret Lives Of Mormon Wives season two is available on Disney+ in the UK.

Harry Potter reboot risks fan backlash over 'unexpected filming location'
Filming for the new Harry Potter reboot, which is being adapted for the small screen, is said to be underway, after the three main actors were announced last week Harry Potter reboot is said to be risking backlash from fans as the show films scenes in an "unexpected location". The HBO TV reboot is due to start filming in the Île de Sein off Brittany, despite the story being set in Britain. Producers have reportedly chosen the French location to set scenes for the hit where Hagrid appears to announce: "You're a wizard, Harry." However, the books detail that the hut is located on an island off Cornwall and not France. But, bosses are said to have chosen the different location to portray the iconic scene. However, it's been reported that some of the crew have found the choice amusing as they could've found a suitable place closer to home. The Sun reported that a TV insider said: "This caused a certain amount of amusement among the British crew who all agreed that they could have easily got windswept in virtually any part of the British Isles. They've been slightly bewildered by the fact they've actually gone to France to make a show which is so British — particularly since it's the first place they've gone to and they're doing key scenes there. "For fans it's likely to be a sign that with American producers running the show, it might not be as mindful of Harry Potter as a national treasure that shouldn't be tampered with." Around 30 people are said to be at Pointe du Raz on the west coast of Brittany and have been travelling by boat to the island each day. It's thought that there is a supposedly haunted 19th century lighthouse on the island which might be used as the hut in the TV series. The iconic Harry Potter franchise films were all made in the studio or on location in Britain. Locations such as London, Bath, Durham and the Scottish Highlands were used as filming locations. Warner Bros has invested millions in expanding its studio at Leavesden, near Watford for the filming on the TV reboot. This comes after it was announced last week which actors would be taking on the main three roles in the show - Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. Scottish actor Dominic McLaughlin would be taking on the lead role previously played in the movies by Daniel Radcliffe. He will be working alongside fellow rising stars Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley. Hagrid, which was previously played by late actor Robbie Coltrane, will now be taken over by Nick Frost instead. Albus Dumbledore will be played by actor John Lithgow will be the wizard school's headmaster Albus Dumbledore and Paul Whitehouse will appear as Hogwarts' caretaker Argus Filch.
