Newcastle Mall raises R24K for St. Martin's Village
With a strong turnout and generous support from the community, the event proved to be both an enjoyable and meaningful occasion.
Thanks to the combined efforts of organisers, golfers, sponsors, and volunteers, an incredible R24,000 was raised.
The funds were officially handed over to St. Martin's Village on Thursday, July 18, and will go a long way in supporting the home's care and outreach to vulnerable children.
A standout feature of the day was the generous prize sponsorships that helped elevate the event.
Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife sponsored a generous weekend getaway for four, valued at R7,600.
Blackrock Casino, in collaboration with Tsogo Sun, contributed a luxury 2-night stay at Suncoast Casino, with VIP Lubes adding petrol vouchers to the package, making it a prize worth R5,000.
Shell Petrol Station, located at Newcastle Mall, generously sponsored a full tank of fuel.
Neerajh Auto Clinic also sponsored a cash prize for a 'Closest to the Pin' winner, adding excitement and energy to the competition.
Of course, these special prizes were part of a broader tapestry of support.

Revolut named official title partner of Audi F1 team
British financial technology giant Revolut will become title partner of the Audi Formula One team from next season in a "monumental" multi-year deal, the two parties announced on Wednesday. The fast-growing London-based fintech company was valued at $45bn (R804,836,250,000) last year through a secondary share sale to new and existing investors. Swiss-based Sauber are becoming the factory Audi team in 2026, when Formula One starts a new engine era with major rule changes and an 11th team on the grid with the arrival of Cadillac. Jonathan Wheatley, principal of the Audi team, said the deal had been put together in less than four months and had obvious benefits for the two sides. "If you imagine we need to engage with our fans, we need a partner that's going to help us do that," Wheatley told Reuters in a video call. "We need to expand hugely into the incredible global space Formula One is in at the moment, and we need to become the most attractive team in Formula One." Wheatley said the deal reflected Audi's brand strength and was a "good news story for Formula One". "It's the Audi magnet that's drawing a lot of people here right now," he said, speaking from the team headquarters in Hinwil, Switzerland. Revolut has more than 55-million customers but no physical branches. It gained a banking licence in Britain in 2024, after a three-year wait, and has global expansion plans. Antoine Le Nel, Revolut's chief marketing officer, gave no financial details of the F1 partnership but said the company was in for the long run with Audi and aiming for 100-million customers by 2027. He said Revolut had been looking for a platform to help the company build on its expansion. "I think we have a true opportunity to bring F1 to a huge audience," he told Reuters. "From a retail perspective and a business perspective I think there's going to be a lot of opportunities for us to connect the fan base to the sport through the Revolut platform." Le Nel said Audi taking on established teams in Formula One was like Revolut competing against traditional banks. "If you look at Audi, a very premium German brand dominating its market, it's where we want to be," he said. "It's a way for Revolut to elevate and get to where Audi has been for a long time." Audi said Revolut Business would be extensively integrated into the team's financial operations. Sauber are sixth in the 10 team championship ahead of this weekend's Hungarian Grand Prix and have scored in their past five races. German driver Nico Hulkenberg celebrated his first F1 podium at Silverstone this month, finishing third in the British Grand Prix in a major boost for the team.

Kaizer Chiefs get HUGE discount on two major transfer targets
Kaizer Chiefs are close to sealing deals for two primary transfer targets. Simultaneously, they're paying over the odds and still getting a bargain. The Kaizer Chiefs striker curse Kaizer Chiefs are facing the same problem YET AGAIN With Cape Town Spurs now in the third tier of South African football, Chiefs believe this is the time to pounce for Asanele Velebayi and Luke Baartman. Chiefs believed that targets Luke Baartman and Asanele Velebayi were no longer contractually tied to the Mother City outfit Cape Town Spurs. This, after Spurs' relegation from the Motsepe Foundation Championship to the amateur ABC Motsepe League. 'It's believed Chiefs are willing to pay more than the required amount by FIFA, as a sign of appreciation to Spurs. They are looking at paying around R5 million for both players,' a local source revealed. OPINION: Why Kaizer Chiefs should sell Mdu Shabalala Spurs are contesting Chiefs' claims in court. 22-year-old winger Velebayi made 23 appearances in the 2023-2024 Betway Premiership season. Striker Baartman, still just 19, made nine league appearances in the same season, scoring twice. It's easy to imagine that these players would fetch far higher values if they were operating for a PSL or Motsepe Foundation Championship side. It's therefore a great time to strike and could prove to be shrewd business by the board. Click for the story Let us know by leaving a comment below or sending a WhatsApp to 060 011 0211. Kaizer Chiefs to push to finalise deal for Spurs pair
Kaizer Chiefs appear to be closing in on a double swoop for Cape Town Spurs' young talents, Asanele Velebayi and Luke Baartman, as negotiations gather pace behind the scenes. According to a source, Chiefs are working to resolve the transfer saga by complying with FIFA regulations surrounding development compensation, but they're also willing to go beyond what's required. FIFA compensation rules come into play Insiders close to the matter explained that, under FIFA rules, a development compensation fee of R1.5 million per player applies. This means Amakhosi could owe R3 million in total if they receive the green light to register both players. ADVERTISEMENT 'You know, Chiefs are willing to follow the rules and do the right thing by the book. That's why it's believed that they are expected to pay R1.5 million for each player which means R3 million for the two players,' said the source. The same source referenced a previous case involving Puso Dithejane's switch to TS Galaxy, where development fees were also enforced. Chiefs offer more than required to smooth deal However, the story doesn't end with regulation compliance. The Soweto giants reportedly plan to offer Cape Town Spurs a higher fee as a goodwill gesture, despite the club's recent relegation from the Betway Premiership. 'It's believed Chiefs are willing to pay more than the required amount by FIFA. As a sign of appreciation to Spurs. They are looking at paying around R5 million for both players,' the source revealed. The source compared the situation to a previous transfer involving Siphesihle Ndlovu. For whom Chiefs also paid R5 million, even with his contract nearing its expiry at SuperSport United. Velebayi and Baartman targeted since Spurs' relegation Chiefs began their pursuit of Velebayi following Spurs' relegation and have now identified Baartman as a key target too. With both players highly rated, Amakhosi are keen to finalise the deal swiftly and reinforce their long-term strategy with youthful talent. ADVERTISEMENT This potential R5 million investment signals not only a commitment to strengthening the squad. But also a willingness to maintain good relationships with domestic clubs.
