Egypt weather: Peak heat hits Tuesday before gradual cooling
The Egyptian Meteorological Authority has revealed the expected weather conditions for Monday and Tuesday, as well as the timing of a return to lower temperatures.
Hot weather will prevail during the daytime across most of the country, becoming very hot in Upper Egypt, with moderate temperatures at night in most areas.
The Meteorological Authority added in a statement on its official Facebook page that morning mist will form and may be dense at times on some agricultural roads, highways, and roads near bodies of water.
It continued: 'There will be wind activity in areas of the west of the country, which may stir up sand and dust intermittently.'
Tuesday will witness a noticeable increase in temperatures, with values ranging from 5 to 6 degrees Celsius higher. Temperatures in Cairo and Lower Egypt will be between 38-29 degrees Celsius, the northern coasts will see 36-43 degrees Celsius, and the south of the country will experience 40-41 degrees Celsius.
Starting from Wednesday, there will be a slight and gradual decrease in temperatures in the north of the country, extending to Greater Cairo.

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) announced on Thursday that a heatwave is expected across most parts of the country, accompanied by an increase in surface humidity levels in the north. Cairo is forecast to reach 36°C during the day, while governorates in South Upper Egypt will hit 42°C. Meteorologists attribute the heatwave to the dominance of a high-pressure system in the upper atmosphere, with the seasonal Indian Monsoon depression expected to extend into mid-June. The EMA has ruled out any chance of rain in all governorates. Thursday's temperatures are expected to be hot to extremely hot across most parts of the country, with moderate temperatures at night and during early morning hours. Daytime temperatures are estimated to range from 27-28°C in northern coastal areas, 35-36°C in the Nile Delta and Cairo, and 36-37°C in Central Upper Egypt governorates, with South Upper Egypt reaching 42°C.
