Palestinian ambassador calls for media to enter Gaza hours before Al Jazeera reporters killed
On Sunday (10 August), Riyad Mansour addressed an emergency meeting at the Security Council, which had gathered to discuss Israel 's plans to take over Gaza City.
He told the council that they should send 100 journalists from their countries to the besieged enclave.
'If Netanyahu is so sure of this global conspiracy about a 'lie', let him prove it,' he said.
His remarks came just hours before Israel targeted a tent housing the journalists outside al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, killing five, including 28-year-old correspondent Anas al-Sharif.

Eighty per cent of Israelis have consistently answered in polls that they want the hostages back and an end to the war. This strike is a very clear statement – a declaration to decision-makers here, to the American administration, to the whole world: this is what we want and we really won't stop. I don't know if this will help, but I know I have to try everything I can so that Omri hears the word 'Dad' again. More than 400,000 people came out on Sunday but we don't intend to end our struggle here – it's not stopping now, it's only intensifying. We won't stop until all the hostages are home, until my Omri is home, and the war is over. Every citizen who came out – to the square near their home, to honk on the roads, to wave a sign – is a lifeline. A lifeline for the hostages. A lifeline for the soldiers in Gaza risking their lives. Every small action today is a great point of light for the families. Together, we all create a show of force – we are a people that doesn't give up on life, on hope, on responsibility. Last week, when the hostage families and bereaved families together announced this strike, I couldn't have imagined that this is what would happen. Today, like every day in the past 682 days, all of us are demanding one thing: a deal. One deal that will end the war and return all 50 hostages. The survivors must return for rehabilitation and the deceased must have a proper burial. I still can't believe that after 22 months, we still need to use the word 'struggle'. The heart, the body, the entire country – we can barely carry this anymore. To really win, we need them here. Every action today is a lifeline – for the hostages, for the families, for our people – and for a deal that ends this war and brings all 50 hostages home. Donald Trump, the Israeli public wants them home. The world wants them home. Please make it happen. Seal the deal. And to my beloved Omri, the whole country came out on Sunday. I hope you saw a little and received strength. I promise you, you will still hear the word 'Dad'. You will still get a hug that will heal everything from our beautiful daughters Roni and Alma.

US envoy to discuss Israel ceasefire as Lebanon commits to disarming Hezbollah
The US special envoy to Lebanon said that his team would discuss the long-term cessation of hostilities with Israel after Beirut endorsed a US-backed plan for the Hezbollah militant group to disarm. Tom Barrack, following a meeting with Lebanese president Joseph Aoun, also said Washington would seek an economic proposal for post-war reconstruction in the country, after months of shuttle diplomacy between the US and Lebanon. 'I think the Lebanese government has done their part. They've taken the first step,' said Mr Barrack, who is also the US ambassador to Turkey. Israel 'kills Palestinian girl carrying water to family', footage shows
The video, obtained by news agency Al Jazeera, shows a clearly identifiable young girl carrying a gallon of water in Jabalia, in northern Gaza. It comes as the IDF is reportedly preparing to forcibly displace one million people from Gaza City as part of its plans to escalate the genocide. Israel has intensified its attacks on Gaza City ahead of seizing it, with nearly 60 Palestinians killed by Israeli airstrikes in the city on Sunday. The Israeli military claimed that Gaza City residents would be provided with tents and other shelter equipment before relocating them from combat zones to the south of the enclave "to ensure their safety". It did not say when the mass displacement would begin. Israel has repeatedly bombed areas it had previously declared as safe zones. Meanwhile, on Monday human rights organisation Amnesty International said Israel is "carrying out a deliberate campaign of starvation" in Gaza.
