Abbotsley marks 25 years of village scarecrow festival
James Dixon, 45, who moved from London 12 years ago with his wife Sonya, 50, said it was lovely being part of a community tradition."We have come to the village and been really looked after since moving here so I think it's really important to get involved in a tradition like this," he said.
Andy Harris, 74, said he started off by making a Spitfire and added two more scarecrows in a nod to the famous photograph of a kissing couple taken in New York's Times Square in 1945. He previously won first prize with his scarecrow recreation of the barricades in Les Misérables and has also been a judge for the competition. "I just enjoy doing it," Mr Harris said. "I feel I'm quite artistic and like doing these sorts of things, I'm now retired so I've got time to spend a bit more time doing it and I enjoy the reactions from people who see it."

The hit dating show was previously hosted by married couple Matt and Emma, and sees singles hoping to bag themselves a partner in a non-conventional way. However, according to The Sun, the pair have taken a step back for the upcoming second series set to hit screens next month. TikToker Sarel, who posts regularly on the social media platform, will be reportedly stepping in instead. An insider told the publication: 'Matt and Emma loved doing it but they're so so busy - they couldn't make their schedules work. Sarel is huge on TikTok and will be really popular with listeners.' MailOnline has approached Netflix and representatives for Matt and Emma for comment. Emma and Matt Willis (pictured) have reportedly quit Love Is Blind UK and a replacement host has been drafted in It comes after a return date for Love Is Blind UK was revealed by Netflix last week with a first look at series two. During the social experiment style programme, singletons interact with one another only through their voices in special Pods, before choosing someone to move in with and eventually marry. The couples will then find out if their physical connection matches their strong emotional bond developed in the Pods. Netflix has now confirmed that season two of Love Is Blind UK will launch on August 13, with ten episodes released over three weeks. The streaming platform has shared a teaser trailer for the new instalment, giving fans a sneak peak of what's in store. It looks as though there's plenty of drama coming up, with one man saying, 'I don't find it difficult to date multiple women. That's just a part of the game'. A woman can also be heard commenting, 'That's really disrespectful, I'm not your plan B'. Photographs from the new season has also been released and one features what appears to be an engagement ring. Another shows a man with his hand against a wall, looking down, in one of the Pods. The first season's reunion in 2024 was packed with shocking moments and saw four couples revealing they had gone their separate ways, while another shared their plans to start a family. Hosts Matt and Emma welcomed back the newlyweds, who walked down the aisle after meeting sight unseen almost a year ago. While some of the participants were delighted to be back and more loved up than ever, others had scores to settle. After MailOnline exclusively revealed Sabrina and Steven had split, the former married couple furiously hammered out their differences in a very tense exchange in front of the studio audience. After struggling of months living long distance Sabrina fumed: 'I was trying to do everything I could to make the relationship work and I just feel like you made zero accommodations in your life for me or our relationship'. The first season's reunion in 2024 was packed with shocking moments and saw four couples revealing they had gone their separate ways, while another shared their plans to start a family However Steve later hit claiming her story was 'full of contradictions' despite him admitting he'd 'let the team down' after only visiting her in Dublin twice. Livid, he snapped: 'A lot of things you are saying are not facts. I don't recognise you'. Meanwhile on the other end of the spectrum, Jasmine and Bobby revealed the last 12-months had been 'the happiest of their lives'.

Suki Waterhouse's BFF Poppy Jamie's 35th birthday descends into chaos as her hair catches FIRE while blowing out her candles
Suki Waterhouse 's BFF Poppy Jamie delivered more drama than anyone could have expected at her 35th birthday party in London over the weekend. The TV presenter and wellness guru horrified close friends including actress and singer Suki, Princess Eugenie and socialite Jack Guinness when her hair caught on fire as she tried to blow out the candles on her cake. The incident, which was captured on camera by guests and later shared online, shows Poppy, dressed in a sleeveless black mini dress, recoiling as a section of her hair goes up in flames. She furiously batted the fire away from her face as panicked partygoers looked on. Thankfully, she managed to escape the mishap uninjured. The following day she posted a photo of herself on Instagram - taken before the incident - with the caption: 'The calm before I caught on fire Thank you for my birthday messages... 'I think the past year has been the. most challenging I've ever had. Excited to start again ☀️ let's go .' Jack Guinness shared a story on Instagram, writing: 'I've had a lot of messages from people asking if Poppy's hair is ok after my previous stories… 'You're missing the point. That's irrelevant. It's the funniest video of all time. It's art.' Despite the drama, the bash - which Poppy appeared to share with a male friend who was also celebrating his birthday - was otherwise a success. After a private dinner in the capital, Poppy and friends headed to a karaoke bar for the afterparty. Suki, 33, who last week revealed she had been hospitalised with a hernia for wearing trousers that were too tight, looked like she's recovering well as she blasted out a duet with Poppy. Game of Thrones actress Jazzy de Lisser shared a photo of them on Instagram and captioned it: 'Pop Princess'. Poppy's friend Princess Eugenie also marked the special day, posting a story on Instagram of their recent day out at Ascot with Meghan Markle's close friend, fashion designer Misha Nonoo. 'One more for the birthday babe… looking a bit better!!' Eugenie wrote - a cheeky reference to the earlier hair-raising moment which suggested she was also present at the dinner. Poppy rose to fame as a presenter on ITV2 and MTV, before launching an award-winning mindfulness app, Happy Not Perfect, and writing a bestselling book on anxiety and self-love. With fans including Millie Mackintosh and Pixie Lott, she's become a leading voice in the world of wellness and mental health. Suki recently revealed she was hospitalised with a hernia six months ago for an unlikely reason, with fans noticing another unusual detail. The English actress and singer posted a pair of images on the site X on Monday: one in which she was onstage in support of her record Memoir of a Sparklemuffin; the other in which she was in a hospital bed. Suki told more than 165,100 followers on X about the bizarre scenario. '"Suki you never tweet anymore'' she tweeted. 'Have you ever considered I wore pants so tight 6 months ago it caused a hernia & I've been too scared to tell you.' Suki - who welcomed a daughter in March 2024 with fiancé Robert Pattinson - had a small blue vape in hand in the hospital pic, which she acknowledged after a fan brought it up. The fan said that holding a 'vape in the hospital is diabolical,' to which Suki said, 'So true.'

Peter Andre shares hilarious clip of daughter Princess, 18, lip syncing to his 1995 hit Mysterious Girl
Peter Andre has shared a hilarious clip of his teenage daughter Princess lip-syncing to his 1995 hit Mysterious Girl. The singer turned reality star, now 52, shot to fame as a nineties heartthrob and the track remains his biggest hit to date, charting at number two in the UK in 1995 and topping the charts in 2004 following Peter's stint on I'm A Celebrity. Sharing the clip to his Instagram stories alongside laughing emoji on Sunday, Peter wrote: 'When your daughter sends you this from Mexico '. The video shows Princess, who recently turned 18, happily singing along to her dad's hit song in a bar before she jokes 'sorry!' Peter welcomed Princess with his ex-wife Katie Price, 47, back in 2007 after the pair famously met and fell in love on I'm A Celebrity. The former couple, who split in 2009, also share son Junior, 20, and the youngsters whose early lives were documented on reality TV are keen to stay in the spotlight. Princess's lip-syncing comes less than a month after Peter wished her a happy 18th birthday. In a heartfelt Instagram post, he wrote: 'Not enough words. So much love. My little girl is no longer a little girl. Keep being you. Kind, funny, sensitive, considerate and a bit bonkers….. oh, and a diva. But a diva full of heart. 'I know I tell you everyday but I'll say it again. I love you so much. Happy 18th beautiful and please stay happy. But be careful in this crazy world. Im always here. Always. Dad.' Princess also celebrated the milestone on her own Instagram, sharing a snap of herself posing with a cake. She has been sharing life updates with fans herself and also recently revealed that she had passed her driving test back in May. Princess, who has established herself as a makeup and beauty influencer, is currently filming an ITV documentary about her life - but her mum Katie has been banned from appearing in it by Peter's management company, The Can Group. The revelation was made by Katie herself last week, who revealed that her teenage daughter is staying at her dad's house during filming. She told her sister Sophie on The Katie Price Show podcast: 'It's only because she has been filming that she has been at Pete's because obviously I'm not allowed anywhere near it. She has only got about two weeks left of filming.' Princess's lip-synching comes less than a month after Peter wished her a happy 18th birthday Katie said: 'Princess is now officially an adult so mummy and Princess can now go out together. If certain people would let her be seen with me.' Sophie said: 'I noticed in her 18th birthday pictures she was wearing the shoes you bought her for Christmas.' 'Oh did she? I love that,' Katie said. Katie added: 'Everyone knows she's doing this documentary - and I'm not in it. Certain people don't think it's good for Princess to be seen with me. Certain people that used to look after me.' Her sister said: 'You aren't on brand Katie. You are too risky Katie that's why. Katie added: 'It's pathetic. I'm her mother. It's so sad. When certain people who used to look after me are now looking after...' Her sister Sophie then urged Katie to 'save it for another day.' The PR group previously managed Katie and now continues to work with Peter, Princess, and Junior.
