Prince William's Body Language Spoke Volumes During His Recent Aberdeen Visit

Yahoo04-04-2025

Prince William's body language has shifted significantly these past few months, and I suspect it has something to do with his wife Kate Middleton's big health announcement in January. For instance, last year, when he met with David Beckham at the launch of London Air Ambulance's newest helicopters, he was noticeably stiff and more formal. However, in January, when he chatted with charity members and staff at Centrepoint, he was more open and relaxed.
It should come as no surprise, then, that the royal was all smiles when he visited Aberdeen to launch Homewards initiatives. But I noticed something interesting about his gestures as he interacted with one of his Homewards advocates and TV personality Gail Porter.
Derek Ironside -The Prince of Wales and Porter looked like longtime pals as they chatted before meeting with a resident of one of the newly furnished homes. As seen in the above photo, the royal is completely at ease with Porter, and he doesn't shy away from physical touch—like a gentle hand on her shoulder—which indicates a genuine bond between the pair. Also, in a clip shared to social media, the prince not only embraces Porter, but he also gives one of the residents a giant bear hug—an authentic and sincere moment that speaks volumes about his compassion.
The prince was completely unfazed by close proximity and physical touch, which demonstrates that he genuinely cares for others and desires to connect with people—especially with those who share his commitment to an important cause.
On IG, William captioned his post, "An inspiring day in Aberdeen yesterday seeing all the work being done by Homewards and their partners in the area to support those in the city with lived experience of homelessness."
Derek Ironside -In the comments, one fan wrote, "So powerful to see compassion paired with action. Homewards is such a meaningful step forward. Thank you for shining a light on lived experience." Another added, "This is wonderful!! An incredible initiative, thank you for highlighting it so powerfully."
Given the charity's inspiring mission, it's no wonder the future king is so buoyant and at ease.

The Prince of Wales, 42, appears far more relaxed than he did a few months ago, likely due in large part to the fact that his wife Kate Middleton's major health announcement that her cancer is in remission. In fact, his latest outing speaks volumes about his current mindset.

LA Anti-ICE Protests: Yes, There's Violence. There's Also Hope

Courtesy Abigail Porter LA's anti-ICE protests have dominated headlines and television news stations over the last week. And depending on where you've been consuming your media, it might seem that Los Angeles is currently in a citywide meltdown. But a number of women have taken to social media to debunk the narrative coming from the administration that LA is out of control, and only the military can save it. Glamour spoke to Abigail Porter, a content creator living in DTLA, about why her video showcasing the peaceful side of LA's anti-ICE protests has struck such a chord with viewers—many of whom said in the comments that they didn't realize there was another side to the story. The video has received more than 12.5 million views as of publishing. 'I was there for about three and a half hours,' Porter says of the protest she attended on June 9 near the El Pueblo Historical Monument and the Robert A. Young Federal Building. 'I shot that video really quickly…but it's pretty accurate [in terms of] what the protests are really like. Everything is very well-organized, they have a lot of really incredible speakers that have been talking and getting people inspired. People are there dancing and chatting with each other and chanting and protesting and handing out water and snacks,' she says. 'Obviously it's a tough situation that we're in, but the community has really come together and shown up for each other.… I've lived in LA for about four years. There is a real sense of community here,' she adds, noting that California is a 'blue state' that did not vote for Trump and his mass deportation agenda. 'It's scared a lot of people. It's a shame. We didn't want any of this mess.' As for the response to her viral video—it was shared by actor Pedro Pascal—Porter has been struck by just how much her footage clashes with what people have already decided is the only acceptable narrative of what Los Angeles is like right now. 'The most surprising thing honestly is people coming into the comments and…it's almost like they're telling [me] that what I'm seeing and what I'm sharing is not real,' she says. 'They're like, 'What about all of the unrest?' And I'm like, 'That's what I'm showing you isn't happening, that's the skewed narrative that you're being shown. And I'm showing you something else and you're telling me that my lived experience is not what I'm experiencing? Like, how does that make sense in your brain?' [It's] blatant denial of what I'm literally showing.' Again, that's not to say that it has been calm at all times. There has been destruction of property. Many immigrants are scared, reporters have been hurt covering the protests. But truth devoid of context is still biased, and images of violence without the context that many protests and much of Los Angeles are just fine serves the agenda that we need the military here, and we really don't. Don't take it from me. Even Labubu has thoughts. Originally Appeared on Glamour

Kate Middleton Steps Out in Heels Despite Museum's Dress Code Advice: 'She Is a Pro'

Kate Middleton wore a pair of heels at the new V&A East Storehouse in East London despite the museum's recommendation that guests wear "flat shoes" while visiting Known for her signature style, Kate has never shied away from stilettos 'She is a pro! She dealt with that!' Tristram Hunt, director of the V&A tells PEOPLEKate Middleton preferred to keep it chic with her go-to stilettos on her latest royal outing. The Princess of Wales, 43, visited the new V&A East Storehouse in East London on Tuesday, June 10, where she arrived dressed in a royal blue suit and a pair of sleek black heels. While Kate looked elegant in her outfit, her footwear didn't technically fit the dress code at the storehouse, which is a branch of the Victoria and Albert Museum. "We recommend wearing practical clothing and flat shoes," the V&A East Storehouse's website reads. "The metal grid flooring is not suitable for stilettos or kitten heels." Kate confidently navigated the visit in her sleek heels, which marked her first public royal engagement since returning from a half-term break with children Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7. Speaking to PEOPLE following Kate's outing, Tristram Hunt, the director of the V&A, said of Kate's chosen footwear: 'She is a pro! She dealt with that!' The visit also aligned with Kate's personal interest in art; she graduated from the University of St Andrews with a degree in art history in 2005. 'It went really well. She was really really focused on the objects, it is really impressive," Hunt continued. 'She had a super energy. She was very energetic and focussed. We last saw her about two years ago," he added." She retains this great passion and interest in creativity and making and design. It was wonderful to be able to host her.' While Kate's trip to the V&A East Storehouse went off without a hitch on Tuesday, she wasn't so lucky while wearing heels during a visit to a new addiction treatment center in Wickford back in 2018. At the time, the princess — who was seven months pregnant — got one of her black heels stuck in a metal drain. Kate kept her sense of humor despite the snafu, and laughed as she pulled her foot out of the grate and greeted staff from the Action on Addiction Community Treatment center. Heels are a staple of Kate's wardrobe. She's bravely worn them while walking on grass at one of Prince William's polo matches, and took workout style to new heights when she wore heels to the gym while visiting the Coach Core program in Essex. Can't get enough of PEOPLE's Royals coverage? to get the latest updates on Kate Middleton, Meghan Markle and more! As much as the princess loves a good heel, she admitted she was relieved to take a brief break from her go-to shoe style while attending an outing with the Scouts at their headquarters outside of London in 2019. While she planted a sapling oak at Gilwell Park during her visit, she remarked, "Normally I have to do this in high heels, this is much easier!" Read the original article on People

'Friday Night Lights' Actor, 45, Reveals Surprising Connection to Justin Timberlake

'Friday Night Lights' Actor, 45, Reveals Surprising Connection to Justin Timberlake originally appeared on Parade. Friday Night Lights actor Scott Porter shared a never-to-forget moment with Justin Timberlake before they were stars. Porter also has a musical talent, which Hart of Dixie fans know. The actor recently shed light on his days in VoicePlay. Porter was a founding member of the group, where he honed his beatboxing up for NSYNC on their first tour in the '90s. Speaking with Page Six to promote the new season of Ginny & Georgia, Porter recalled a special moment with Timberlake. 'There was one particular performance that I remember. We were singing on a floating stage in the middle of a lake and had to take a little boat on the way out. And we didn't spend a lot of time with NSYNCat all,' he expressed. 'But on that particular stage, we had to all go out together on this boat. So Justin and I were beatboxing with each other on this boat.' Porter explained that years later, he was filming Speed Racer in Berlin when Timberlake was playing a concert there. The actor recalled Timberlake recognizing him backstage at the concert, but not from Friday Night Lights. 'He [Timberlake] goes, you're the beatboxer that I beatboxed with on that boat to that floating stage in Florida.' I don't know how Justin Timberlake even remembered that, but he did, and that was pretty cool,' Porter shared. It was quite the trip down memory lane for Porter and his fans, too. Some of his fans, though, were more shocked by his VoicePlay news than the Timberlake story. 'how did it not know he was the founder of freaking VoicePlay,' and 'HE'S A FOUNDING MEMBER OF VOICEPLAY?!?!?!' were a couple of comments on the Page Six TikTok featuring Porter's interview. 'Friday Night Lights' Actor, 45, Reveals Surprising Connection to Justin Timberlake first appeared on Parade on Jun 10, 2025 This story was originally reported by Parade on Jun 10, 2025, where it first appeared.
