3 new PlayStation Plus games to play this weekend (June 20-22)
More and more I am finding myself getting more excited for the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium game announcements than the Essential ones. It always varies, but months like this are some of my favorites. We are getting treated to a day one release, a ton of sleeper hits that didn't get enough attention, and one influential PS2 classic that is great to have available as a PS5 game. Today also just so happens to be the first day of summer, so what better time than now to close the curtains, crank up the AC, and play some great games courtesy of PS Plus? This is my hand-picked selection of PlayStation Plus games you need to play this weekend.
FBC: Firebreak
We knew FBC: Firebreak would be a day one addition to PS Plus for a while, and it is finally here. Coming from Remedy, and set in the Control universe, FBC: Firebreak is a big departure from the studio's other work. Instead of a single player third-person shooter, this is a multiplayer co-op FPS a bit in the style of Left 4 Dead, only here you can only team up in groups of three. The game is set in The Oldest House where you will take on the Hiss and plenty of strange and unexpected challenges, such as fighting a giant sticky note monster. There are a ton of options for how long rounds take and how challenging they are, plus a nice set of unlockables and perks to unlock over time.

Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes
Before the Suikoden remasters were even announced, original creator Yoshitaka Murayama founded a new team to create a spiritual successor. The result is the fantastic throwback JRPG called Eiyuden Chronicles: Hundred Heroes. The story takes place in a fantasy world called Allraan amidst an ongoing war led by the Galdean Empire. The two main characters go on an epic quest across the entire world to find allies of all kinds. As you might guess from the title, there are over 100 in total to find, but you will need to go out of your way to find most of them. Its turn-based battles are gripping, but slightly bogged down by a strict adherence to tradition.
Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes is available now on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, and PC.
Deus Ex: The Conspiracy
All modern immersive sim games owe some debt to Deus Ex for showing the potential of such a malleable game design ethos. Set in the distant future of 2052, you play as JC Denton in a world rife with terrorism, plagues, and rampant drug and nanotechnology use. Despite easily seeing its age in the visuals and some clunky controls, the amount of player freedom still feels surprising. You can approach any mission in dozens of ways using your skills, tech, traversal methods, and exploiting the game's systems. This isn't a game to play if you are looking for solid combat, but is a fantastic story and deeply rewarding if you experiment with all the tools it gives you.

The tour started off at the 'Mulholland Drive' location Winkie's Diner on June 12 and continued to the Mulholland Drive street sign, the area of Hollywood and La Brea (where Lynch once held a For Your Consideration protest for Laura Dern) and Bob's Big Boy, the Toluca Lake diner where Lynch often met with stars like Dern and Kyle MacLachlan. The tour stops were also live streamed from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. PT on Julien's Instagram. The chair, which is personalized with Lynch's name and is estimated at $5,000 to $7,000, is a focal point of the auction, which includes more than 450 objects such as Lynch's musical instruments, furniture, props, home decor and more. Bids can be placed at the in-person event, online, over the phone or through an absentee bid form. Lynch, the filmmaker behind 'Mulholland Drive,' 'Blue Velvet,' 'Wild at Heart' and 'Twin Peaks,' died Jan. 15. Sacramento celebrates Juneteenth with events held citywide
Thursday marked the 160th anniversary of Juneteenth and freedom for Black Americans. The federal holiday recognizes the official end of slavery through the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation by President Abraham Lincoln. Still, enslaved people in Texas did not find out they were free until nearly two years later on June 19th, 1865. Since then, the 19th of June represents a day to celebrate freedom and community. CBS13 stopped by four different Juneteenth events happening across Sacramento on Thursday. In Oak Park, music and dancing lifted up Sacramento's Black community with a block party organized by St. Hope and Esther's Park. "We have Black vendors, Black DJs. We are celebrating us as a community," said organizer Kristen Martin. The block party was sold out, welcoming hundreds out to celebrate until 10 p.m. as the community came together in joy. "We have the day off, it's a federal holiday for us to celebrate Juneteenth. We are excited for us all to come together to celebrate this day," said Martin. The day's events focused on freedom, progress and culture. At the California State Capitol on Thursday afternoon, the California Black Agriculture Working Group celebrated the 160th anniversary of Juneteenth with music, vendors and educational resource booths for the community. Children performed traditional songs for the crowd. "It means advancement for my people. Dr. King would be proud as well. Oh my god, he would be bubbling over," said Terry Dison, a vendor at the event. In midtown, the free Juneteenth Art Walk took place all afternoon on Thursday. The celebration was a vibrant, music-filled parade and event lifting up voices, creativity and legacy. "Vendors, food, performances. It's gonna be a full day of art and joy and community and celebration," organizers told CBS13. At the California State Library, Sacramento Juneteenth Inc. hosted its 22nd annual Juneteenth VIP reception, and speakers offered a reminder of the day's meaning. "It's important because it's American history. The African American experience in America needs to be talked about. History does not need to be whitewashed or deleted," said Greg Simon, executive director of Sacramento Juneteenth, Inc. At the ceremony, difference makers in Sacramento were honored with the "Community Soldier Award." "Pleshette Robertson, Theo Dickson, as well as Mr. Antonio Harvey. Each year, we give out this award to those unheralded heroes doing work for the community, in the community," said Simon. The celebrations continue into the weekend. Friday and Saturday, Sacramento's Juneteenth Southern Soul Festival will be held in William Land Park featuring musical performances, a parade, a fashion show, more than 80 vendors and much more. More than 5,000 people are expected to attend.

Jimmy Kimmel said President Donald Trump has a go-to move when it comes to big decisions: stall for time. The president went to it again this week while trying to decide on military intervention in Iran. 'Trump gave Iran what he called the 'ultimate ultimatum,' which is kind of like the 'final finale,' but scarier,' Kimmel said. 'He really enjoys making threats, and he loves attaching them to timelines.' Trump said he'd make a decision on Iran within two weeks. 'It's always two weeks,' Kimmel pointed out. 'For a guy whose catchphrase was 'You're fired,' no one has ever given more two weeks' notice than Donald J. Trump.' Kimmel rolled a minute-long supercut video of Trump promising various things within two weeks, ending with a vow to sign a new health care plan into law ― also in two weeks.
