Alia Bhatt's fans were left shocked on Wednesday when it was reported that her former personal assistant, Vedika Prakash Shetty, for allegedly stealing ₹77 lakh from the actress and her production house, Eternal Sunshine Productions Pvt Ltd. While the former PA was arrested from Bengaluru, here are certain things are Vedika, you must know:

As reported by Hindustan Times, had been associated with Alia Bhatt as her personal assistant for a period of over two years. Vedika used to look after the actress' personal and business dealings. She also used to oversee the operations of Alia's production house. However, the actress and Vedika stopped working together last year i.e. in 2024.
Why Is Vedika Prakash Shetty Arrested?
Juhu Police arrested Vedika Prakash Shetty, former personal assistant to Alia Bhatt, on Tuesday from Bengaluru. She has been accused of allegedly swindling money from Bhatt's production house – Eternal Sunshine Productions Pvt Ltd – and from the actress' accounts. Reportedly, Shetty had fraudulently obtained more than Rs 76 lakh from these two accounts using fake bills.
While the investigation is underway and more details are awaited, Alia or her team has not issued any statement regarding the matter as of now. The actress' mother, Soni Razdan, had filed a complaint against Shetty earlier this year with the police.
Alia Bhatt is currently busy with her Spy Universe movie – Alpha. The film also stars Sharvari Wagh in the lead and will be released on December 25, 2025. Besides this, Alia will soon also reunite with her actor-husband Ranbir Kapoor for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Love and War. The film also stars Vicky Kaushal in the lead.
Alia also has Farhan Akhtar's Jee Lee Zara in her pipeline. The film will also star Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra in the lead. However, there is no update on the film's shoot schedule as of now.

Western Railway said that it has collected Rs 70.98 crore as fine from those travelling without tickets and for other offences between April and July. This marks a 24 per cent increase compared to the same period last year and exceeds the Railway Board's target by 11 per cent. According to a press release by the Western Railway, of the Rs 70.98 crore collected as fine, the Mumbai suburban section accounted for Rs 19.55 crore. In comparison, Rs 17.39 crore was recovered as fine from the section during the corresponding period last year. In July 2025, Western Railway recovered Rs 12.19 crore in fines from 2.22 lakh detected cases, including ticketless or irregular travel and unbooked luggage violations. Of this, Rs 3.65 crore was recovered from around 92,000 cases within the Mumbai suburban section. The July collection marks an increase of 134 per cent compared to that of the same month in 2024, when Rs 5.20 crore was collected from 1.22 lakh cases. Focused checks were also conducted on AC suburban local trains. From April to July 2025, the number of unauthorised passengers penalised in AC locals exceeded 28,000, resulting in Rs 93.40 lakh collected as fines.

Nashik: An elderly couple from Jalgaon were allegedly cheated by men dressed as spiritual leaders on Monday while en route to Trimbakeshwar, the Malegaon taluka police reported. On the complaint of the 61-year-old resident of Bhusawal Road of Jalgaon district, the police registered a case under section 316(2) (criminal breach of trust) of the BNS. The incident occurred at Saundane in Malegaon taluka at 11am on Monday. As per the complainant, he and his wife were travelling towards Trimbakeshwar in their car when they encountered two men dressed as spiritual leaders who, under the pretext of blessing them, stole Rs 6,000 in cash and an 8g gold ring. According to the Malegaon taluka police, the couple had stopped at a roadside restaurant near Saundane to eat. While at the restaurant's parking area, two men dressed as spiritual leaders arrived in a car and parked next to the couple's vehicle. One of the men initiated a conversation with the couple before leaving. After their meal, the couple resumed their journey towards Nashik. The men took Rs 6,000 in cash and kept the gold ring, then left in their car. After the conmen left, the couple inspected their purse and discovered that the men had placed ash and three rudrakshas inside. Realising they had been deceived, they went to the Malegaon taluka police station to file a case against the two men. The investigating officer, head constable Kiran Patil, said, "We are checking the CCTVs of the area to trace the car that the conmen were travelling in. Once the car is identified, the conmen will soon be arrested."
