Rihanna Is the Queen of the High-Profile Pregnancy Reveal: See Her Three Major Bump Debuts

Yahoo06-05-2025

No one does a pregnancy announcement quite like Rihanna.
Just as the Met Gala 2025 red carpet was kicking off, the Grammy-winner, 37, was spotted in New York City wearing a two-piece look that subtly showed that she and longtime partner A$AP Rocky were expecting their third child together.
But if that pregnancy reveal seemed a little low-key given her two prior baby announcements, fans just had to wait a few hours for her to hit the steps of the Met Monday night, wearing a Marc Jacobs three-piece suit with a custom Marc Jacobs x Stephen Jones hat to top it off. Though she and Rocky are Met Gala regulars, this year, she hit the carpet solo as Rocky was already inside fulfilling his duties as one of the night's co-chairs.
On his way into the event, Rocky told reporters of the reveal (according to the Associated Press) "It feels amazing, you know. It's time that we show the people what we was cooking up."
The exciting announcement comes a little over than two years after another epic baby reveal during her pregnancy with son Riot. When the super star took the stage to perform the Super Bowl 2023 Halftime Show, audiences noticed that under her red jumpsuit was a baby bump — which she showcased pointedly during her set. The move marked the first time a pregnant woman performed during the halftime show; icon behavior.

And back in 2022, when she and Rocky were expecting their first child RZA Athelston, the couple shared the news with a series of photos taken in Harlem, New York. (Photographer Miles Diggs captured a number of sweet snaps in what may be one of the cooler maternity outfits of all time, a pink puffer worn over a bare bump and tons of vintage Christian Lacroix chains.)
Before dropping the big news on Met Monday, Rihanna had dropped hints that she wasn't totally done growing her family.
While chatting with Interview Magazine in April 2024, the singer said she wanted to have "as many [kids] as God wants me to have." When asked if she wanted more than two, she said, "I don't know what God wants, but I would go for more than two."
"I would try for my girl. But of course if it's another boy, it's another boy," she added.

Rihanna recently gave a glimpse into her life as a boy mom and shared a little about each of her son's personalities.
'RZA is just an empath,' she told Harper's Bazaar in February. 'He's so magical. He loves music. He loves melody. He loves books. He loves water. Bath time, swimming, pool, beach, anything.'
Riot, on the other hand, is 'just hilarious," she said and seems to be following in his famous parents' footsteps by wanting to 'sing."
'When he wakes up, he starts to squeal, scream. Not in a crying way. He just wants to sing,' she explained. 'And I'm like, 'Okay, here we go!' He's my alarm in the morning! He's not taking no for an answer from anyone.'

Rihanna's father, Ronald Fenty, reportedly dead at 70

Fenty, who battled an unnamed brief illness, reportedly passed away in Los Angeles. Ronald Fenty, Rihanna's father, has passed away at age 70. The news was first reported by Starcom Network, a Barbados-based outlet, and later confirmed by People magazine. According to Starcom, Fenty died in Los Angeles following a brief illness. Details surrounding his official cause of death and the exact date have not yet been disclosed. Sources close to the family told Starcom that Fenty's loved ones were by his side around the time of his passing. Photos published by TMZ show Rihanna's younger brother, Rajad Fenty, arriving at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles on May 28, with reports that Rihanna was also present in the vehicle. Representatives for the singer have not commented publicly on the matter as of Saturday, May 31. Born Robyn Rihanna Fenty in 1988, Rihanna is the daughter of Ronald Fenty and Monica Braithwaite. The Grammy-winning artist and beauty mogul is currently pregnant with her third child with rapper A$AP Rocky. The couple is already parents to sons RZA, 2, and Riot, 1. Alongside Rihanna and Rajad, Ronald Fenty was also the father to Rorrey Fenty and three children from previous relationships—Samantha, Kandy, and Jamie. While Rihanna's rise to global stardom has often been linked to her Caribbean roots and family legacy, her relationship with her father has been notably complex. In 2009, after the singer was assaulted by then-boyfriend Chris Brown, Fenty spoke to the media about the incident without Rihanna's permission—an action she later addressed in an interview with Vogue, calling it 'really strange.' 'You grow up with your father, you know him, you are a part of him, for goodness' sakes,' she said at the time, per Billboard. 'And then he does something so bizarre that I can't begin to wrap my mind around it.' Despite tensions, Rihanna shared in a 2012 interview with Oprah that she and her father had taken steps to rebuild their relationship. However, strains resurfaced in 2019 when she filed a lawsuit accusing Fenty of using her name and brand without authorization. According to the complaint, he launched a company named Fenty Entertainment and misrepresented himself as her manager to secure business deals. Rihanna later dropped the lawsuit in 2021, just weeks before it was set to go to trial. Ronald Fenty's passing comes during a transformative time for the Fenty mogul as she prepares to welcome her third child into the world. The star has yet to publicly comment on her father's reported passing. File Photo by Jim Ruymen/UPI | License Photo May 31 (UPI) -- Pop music star Taylor Swift's famous friends are celebrating the fact that she bought back from Shamrock Capital the first six albums she initially recorded for Big Machine Records. Singer/actress Selena Gomez wrote on her Instagram Stories: "YES YOU DID THAT TAY. SO proud." The message contained a photo of Swift with all of her albums around her. "Just so amazing," Brittany Mahomes wrote on her own Instagram Stories, alongside the same photo and heart and smile emojis. She is a former professional soccer player and the wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. The 35-year-old Grammy winner wrote on her website Friday that she had bought back all of her early records from another company. "All of the music I've ever made... now belongs... to me," Swift said. "And all my music videos. All the concert films. The album art and photography. The unreleased songs. The memories. The magic. The madness. Every single era. My entire life's work." Variety reported that Swift paid an undisclosed amount in the nine figures for her back catalog of music.

Taylor Swift 'stolen' albums dominate streaming charts after buying her music back

Taylor Swift 'stolen' albums dominate streaming charts after buying her music back Singer-songwriter Taylor Swift announced Friday that she was able to purchase back her entire catalog of music from Shamrock Capital, ending a years-long saga. The 14-time Grammy winner had been in the midst of re-recording her first six albums after they had been purchased by Big Machine Records and music manager Scooter Braun back in 2019. Braun would go on to sell them to Shamrock Capital in 2020. Swift had already recorded Fearless (Taylor's Version), Speak Now (Taylor's Version), Red (Taylor's Version) and 1989 (Taylor's Version), with just Reputation and her debut album Taylor Swift waiting for the re-record treatment. After Taylor's Version was released for each album, Swifties would generally refer to the originals as the "stolen versions" and wouldn't stream or purchase them. With the originals no longer "stolen," Swift's albums made a huge jump into the top 10 on Apple Music and Spotify following the announcement. According to various reports from Forbes, chart following sites like Pop Vortex and online accounts like Pop Base, Reputation and Taylor Swift have taken over the top two spots on Apple Music's Top 100 Albums list. All of Swift's catalog seemingly got a boost from Friday's news, with all 15 studio albums reportedly in the top-100 at one time. Swift was the first to be able to unseat the wildly popular country artist Morgan Wallen and his new album, I'm the Problem, from the top spot. Miley Cyrus has rounded out the top-5 with her new release Something Beautiful.
