Sudip, a resident of Rupandehi in Butwal region of Nepal, was on a vacation with his mother, sister, and brother-in-law. A public health student and an aspiring social worker, Sudip lived in Butwal with his mother, Rima, and sister.
In Rupandehi, Sudip's grandfather, Khemananda Neaupane, told ANI that terrorists asked Sudip about his religion, and killed him after he told them he was Hindu.
Sudip Neupane's grandmother, Sewakali Neupane, said," Earlier this morning, my son and daughter-in-law came to know about my grandson being killed, and then they informed us. I am in complete shock. They occasionally used to come here as they now reside in Kalika Nagar. He had visited me about four months back in January (Magh). While going back, he said, 'grandmother, if you fall ill, then inform me, I'll come to see you'."
'I also wish a speedy recovery to his mother, who was injured in the terrorist attack. We have also received news that they have arrived for a visit," she added.
Deuba also condemned the Pahalgam terror attack, saying, 'Condemning such a cruel and inhuman act is not enough. The Government of Nepal condemns this incident and stands with the Government of India and the people of India in this hour of grief. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is in touch for further information about the incident."
Nepal Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli also paid his condolences to Sudip's family. 'Deepest condolences to the victims of the terrorist attack in Pahalgam. Nepal stands firmly with India & strongly condemn any & all acts of terrorism. Close coordination is established to verify reports of a Nepali national among the victims & will provide all necessary assistance," he posted on X.

'They don't have the backing of the family. If something happens, it will be difficult for the girl,' the court said, adding that the parents should be present at the next hearing. 'Ask him to bring his father. Let the father come, and let him give an assurance that he will take care of the girl,' the court said. The court asked what his family did. The counsel said that the man was also eking out a living as a driver. 'If given protection, will he build a big empire? Will he become a maharaja?' the court said. The court asked the counsel to advise the duo regarding life: 'Why don't you all advise these children? Advocates have a social responsibility. If you look at history, advocates are at the forefront of social movements. Give them proper guidance. What will their future be? He is 20, and she is 19; what are their educational qualifications?' The counsel answered that the woman cleared class 12 with a combination of Hindi, Sanskrit, and Home Science, while the man studied till class 10. 'Excellent, that is why he has become a rockstar,' the court said, raising concerns about the employment options for the woman based on her education.

New Delhi [India], August 22 (ANI): Union Minister Bhupender Yadav on Thursday emphasised the need for uniformity in voter lists, stating that it's crucial for fair elections. He was addressing a symposium on 'One Nation One Election: Need of the Hour" organised by Lawyers' Voice. Yadav highlighted India's democratic strengths, including an independent judiciary and a fair Election of State graced the occasion for Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal, Armed Forces Tribunal Chairperson Justice Rajendra Menon, Law Commission of India Jitesh Jain, Additional Solicitor General (ASG) Chetan Sharma, senior advocate Anil Soni, Rouse Avenue District Court Bar Association President Advocate Neeraj and Bhupender Yadav said, 'In our country, we have democracy. In some other countries, there is a monarchy, and some have a single-party system. We consider our constitution as our religion. In a country of 140 crore people, we follow a constitution-based democracy by adhering to the values outlined in our constitution. You are the biggest protectors of civil rights."Yadav stressed the importance of having a single voter list, which can be achieved by revising the current list.'We have a national election commission and state election commissions. In the same way, we have two voter lists. Uniformity of the voter list is most needed. It can be done by revising the voter list. Some people also have an objection to this. One voter list has also been brought under this amendment," Union Minister Bhupender Yadav said. He further said that we are admired for having an independent judiciary, a fair and neutral Election Commission. Yadav emphasised that elections should be a means to achieve the values outlined in the Constitution's preamble, ensuring social, political, and economic justice for all citizens.'An election is a means to achieve the values of the preamble of the Constitution. An even playing field should be there. Border dispute clouds Nepal PM Oli's India visit next month
Nepal's border dispute with India over Kalapani, Lipulekh and Limpiyadhura resurfaced on Wednesday, weeks before Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli's visit to New Delhi. The row follows an agreement between Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and India's National Security Adviser Ajit Doval to reopen three trading routes, including Lipulekh. Kathmandu says the deal was struck without its consent and undermines its sovereignty. On Thursday, lawmakers across party lines raised the issue in Parliament. 'Unilaterally deciding the use of Nepali territory is not acceptable,' members declared. Kamal Thapa, Former Foreign Minister and Chairman of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal urged Oli to raise the matter in his upcoming visits to Beijing and New Delhi. Mahesh Bartaula, Chief Whip of the ruling Communist Party of Nepal-UML called the India-China understanding 'a dilution of Nepal's sovereignty.' Nepali Congress leader Bishwa Prakash Sharma said all parties were united on the issue. Oli will attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit in China later this month and will travel to India on September 16. Nepal's Foreign Ministry said areas east of the Mahakali River, including Kalapani, Lipulekh and Limpiyadhura, are 'integral parts of Nepali territory.' It said India and China had been formally told not to carry out activities there. India, meanwhile, rejected Nepal's claims. 'Border trade through Lipulekh has existed since 1954. It was disrupted in recent years due to Covid and other developments. Both sides have now agreed to resume it.'
