AuSable River paddle boat sinks near Oscoda

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — An Au Sable River paddle boat known as the has sunk while docked outside Oscoba.
Laurie Ferguson, part owner of the River Queen, says in a that the boat started sinking Monday afternoon and now rests on the bottom of the river.
Ferguson says in the post that the Queen has been an important tourist attraction in the Oscoba and Au Sable area since 1966. 'COVID affected us because we lost all our bus groups. It's been an uphill struggle, especially because it is only a season business,' said Ferguson in the Facebook post.
, a Michigan travel website, says the Queen is the only paddlewheel riverboat operating in northern Michigan.
Furguson warns that the boat may roll over on its side because there is a sharp increase in river depth nearby.

The route started on U.S. Highway 36 at the Colorado state line and utilizes some county roads, portions of K-9 Highway, and U.S. Highway 24 before returning to U.S. Highway 36 for the rest of the route. Riders will be traveling 475 miles over eight days. MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCBD) – Tickets are on sale now for one of the Charleston area's favorite summer celebrations. The Fourth of July Fireworks Blast will take place aboard the historic USS Yorktown aircraft carrier at Patriots Point on the Independence Day holiday. The celebration will include live music, local food and beverage vendors, family-friendly activities, and great views of the more than 20-minute fireworks show over Charleston Harbor. 'Whether you're a Charleston local or visiting for the holiday, there's no better place to celebrate America's birthday than atop a piece of American history,' the museum said. A ticket to the celebration includes access to the USS Yorktown and all activities associated with the fireworks blast. Food and drink are available for purchase.
