Mats Hummels' ex-wife has revealed how the Germany star reacted after she furiously complained that their son, 7, had not been invited to his Borussia Dortmund farewell match last week. The 36-year-old defender, who left Dortmund at the end of the 2023-24 season, returned to the club for a farewell friendly match between his old team and Juventus last Sunday. Hummels captained the Bundesliga side for the opening 18 minutes of the match, officially marking his retirement from professional football in front of 80,000 fans at the Signal Iduna Park. The former Germany international, who made 508 appearances in all competitions for Dortmund, was surprisingly not joined by his son Ludwig at the match - and was instead cheered on by his 26-year-old model girlfriend Nicola Cavanis. Hummels then had a season in Serie A with Roma, before the veteran defender opted to retire this summer.
