Former England captain Owen Farrell seals Saracens return
The former England captain called time on his 16-year stay with the Gallagher Premiership side at the end of last season.
But fly-half Farrell has agreed to leave Racing 92 and return to Saracens after a disappointing, injury-disrupted campaign with the Top 14 outfit.

He told the club's official website: 'Saracens is my home and the opportunity to come back is one that excites me enormously.
'Having watched from afar this season, it is clear to see that the club has incredible potential, and I can't wait to get back in the mix for the 25/26 season.'
The 33-year-old ex-club captain has signed a two-year deal at the StoneX Stadium to rejoin a club with whom he won three European Cups and six Premiership crowns.
Farrell made his Saracens debut in 2008, 11 days after his 17th birthday, and amassed 256 appearances before heading for France.
He has won 112 England caps and made six Test appearances for the British and Irish Lions, although he has not been included in the squad – coached by his father Andy – for this summer's tour of Australia.
Farrell has not played Test rugby since the 2023 World Cup, initially taking a break to prioritise his mental wellbeing, before his move abroad made him ineligible for selection.
Saracens director of rugby Mark McCall is hoping the vastly-experienced stand-off will play a role in what he believes will be an exciting future for the club.
McCall said: 'Owen has Saracens in his DNA. His competitive spirit is woven into the fabric of this club and we are delighted he has chosen to come home.
'He returns to a young group full of potential, players eager to learn, play and push for success. We know he will love being part of where this group, and this club, are headed.'

The Viktor Gyokeres transfer saga has taken a fresh twist after it emerged that Real Madrid have been offered the chance to sign him. The former Coventry City forward has a a release clause of £84m but is available for closer to £70m, however, the Gunners are said to be growing frustrated with the complexity of the negotiations. Juventus were reported to have entered the running earlier this week while, according to The Athletic, Real have been alerted to a potential market opportunity. The Spanish champions are admirers of the striker but turned down the opportunity to sign Gyokeres for two reasons. They fear the cost of the transfer does not represent value for money and believe a signing of that magnitude befits a player who would command, or expect, a starting role. Real are in the market for a support striker in the mold of Joselu who proved to be a useful squad option during Carlo Ancelotti's tenure. Endrick's hamstring injury means Gonzalo Garcia, from the Castilla reserve team who play in the Spanish third division, will be Madrid's reserve forward at the Club World Cup. Real have already struck a deal to sign River Plate midfielder Franco Mastantuono. The 17-year-old Mastantuono will join in August, meaning he will play for River at the Club World Cup. Mastantuono is Real's third signing of the off-season after adding defenders Trent Alexander-Arnold and Dean Huijsen. More Trending Mastantuono, who was a promising tennis player before he committed to football, became Argentina's youngest debutant when he came off the bench last week in the national team's 1-0 victory over Chile in a 2026 World Cup qualifier. River said that Madrid triggered Mastantuono's buyout clause of €63m, making it the most expensive transfer in the history of Argentine soccer. Gareth Southgate has been out of a job since leaving England last summer but has reportedly now offered himself up as the next Poland boss with the World Cup just over a year away Gareth Southgate has offered become the next boss of Poland, almost a year on from his England exit, it's been claimed. Southgate left his job with the Three Lions following their Euro 2024 final loss to Spain last summer. Now he's reportedly thrown his hat into the ring to remain in international football with the Poles, who have just seen their head coach resign. Michael Probierz has stepped away from his role after a public fallout with Robert Lewandowski. The Barcelona striker, arguably the greatest player in his country's history, had stated he would never play for Poland whilst Probierz remained as their manager. The two clashed over a saga that saw Lewandowski stripped of the captaincy. As Poland eye their next boss new outlet Przeglad Sportowy Onet claims that Southgate has opened the door to an international return by submitting an application. It is understood he would have to significantly lower his financial demands if he did want to take the job. His England salary was double the record amount paid to a Poland boss. Southgate was an unknown quantity at international level before taking charge of England, but quickly thrived. He led the Three Lions to a World Cup semi-final and successive finals at the Euros. If he was hired the immediate remit for a Poland boss would be to ensure World Cup qualification. The European nations currently sit third in a group of five with only the winner qualifying and the second place going into a play-off. Poland sit below Finland and the Netherlands as things stand. The Poles have been present at the last two World Cups and will hope to continue that trend next summer in North America. Southgate, since leaving his England job, has been a technical observer at UEFA over the past season, which saw him working closely with UEFA performance analysis in order to provide reports on every national team and club competition in Europe. The 54-year-old has been linked with club jobs in the past, the likes of Manchester United and Tottenham. He's confessed that he would like to re-write the narrative around his club career, where he got Middlesbrough relegated before going into the international scene. Southgate previously said on his next opportunity: "This higher purpose kept me on track, gave me structure, made my life more fulfilling and is going to be extremely difficult to replicate. It's why I'm not limiting my future options to remaining as a football coach."

The former Wales rugby boss joined the Uruguayan outfit in late May in an advisory role. Gatland endured a tough Six Nations campaign with Wales, which ultimately led to him stepping down in the middle of the tournament. His stay in South America has ended positively, though, with Penarol defeating Dogos XV 35-34. Having lost 14 international matches in a row with Wales, the success in Uruguay comes as a welcome change for the Kiwi coach.
