Let's decode her look for the red carpet.
The nude gown was highlighted with glittering thread embroidery and a stiff, structured A-line skirt. Vishal Jethwa On Janhvi-Ishaan's Cannes Video: ‘She Was Holding Gown, Not Avoiding Him'
Last Updated: Vishal Jethwa clarified Janhvi Kapoor didn't ignore Ishaan Khatter at Cannes but was just managing her gown during a red carpet moment. A recent video from Cannes 2025 sparked a wave of speculation around Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter's equation. The clip, which quickly went viral, showed Janhvi seemingly ignoring Ishaan's hand as she walked the red carpet, leading many to assume there was tension between the Dhadak co-stars, who were also rumoured to be exes. Now, actor Vishal Jethwa, who attended Cannes with both Janhvi and Ishaan, has clarified what actually happened in the moment and shut down any speculation of discomfort between the two. 'I've seen Ishaan and Janhvi work together and they are very comfortable with each other. They are well-wishers and talk very nicely to one another," Vishal said in a chat with Zoom. Explaining the viral video, Vishal added, 'At Cannes, I remember holding her outfit's trail and was struggling to figure out how to hold it properly. I was just trying to help her. And when Janhvi was climbing up, Ishaan was offering his hand. She was holding her clothes, which is probably why she didn't take his hand." He further defended Janhvi, stating she would never do anything disrespectful. 'She's very sensible and could never do anything disrespectful. That's what I've come to understand about her," Vishal shared. On the widespread social media chatter that followed the video, he said, 'I'm sure no one is thinking about this in a serious way. But people like to be entertained, and they're just going along with it." The trio—Janhvi, Ishaan, and Vishal—were in Cannes to attend the prestigious film festival and promote their work on an international stage. While the viral moment grabbed attention, Vishal's clarification suggests it was nothing more than a misread situation caused by the logistics of managing a red carpet outfit. First Published:

As 'Baghuni' shines at Cannes, Partha Panda candidly speaks about Odia cinema making global mark
For film producer Partha Panda, it was a moment of pride as the first look of his Odia feature film 'Baghuni' (Dance Like a Tiger) was officially unveiled at the 78th Cannes Film Festival. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now In a conversation with ANI, he shared his experience of taking his film project to an international audience, his journey in filmmaking and how the Odia film market is making its mark globally. "It was a very great experience. I met and , who revealed our motion poster, so it was a very wonderful and most memorable experience." As part of the Official program of the Bharat Pavilion at Cannes International Film Festival, hosted by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, the first-look motion poster of the film was released on May 15 in the presence of the film's director and producer, Jitendra Mishra, and producer Partha Panda. The film is a co-production among National Film Development Corporation of India (NFDC), Glocal Films UK Limited (founded by Odisha-born, London-based producer Partha Panda, and Jitendra Mishra's Cinema4Good Pvt. Ltd, 'Baghuni' is a co-production--the first of its kind for any film from Odisha, with the National Film Development Corporation(NFDC) returning to the state after a 23-year gap in significant cinematic collaborations. On the inspiration behind the film, he shared, "It's about women's empowerment, and a girl holding a protest in a male-dominated society, and how a lady is stepping out and fighting for her rights, so it is all about this." While talking about the film, he added, "We named it 'Baghuni'(Dance Like a Tiger) means Tigress and we had a dance called 'Bagha Nacha', (the Tiger dance is the traditional art form performed in Binka, Sonepur, and some parts of Ganjam district in Odisha), and the story was written by one of the good directors, his name is Jitendra Mishra, so we had a conversation from last 3-4 years ago about the story, so we developed the story, then we were going step by step, so first time in 2023, this story was selected in the NFDC co-production market, then luckily, out of 11 countries, 20 stories were selected and we were one of them, which was a good thing about that, and particularly for Odia language, this type of thing, like NFDC involvement happened after 23 years. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now " Partha Panda is an entrepreneur whose journey spans over 15 years of higher education and successful enterprise in the UK. He is a Managing Director, Film Producer & Arts Impresario. Despite being in a different profession, he always remained passionate about cinema. Sharing how his journey in filmmaking started, he added, "Every time I watch a movie from childhood, it's always I wanted to involve in film, but for me, when I was doing my graduation, that time I had an interest, either I wanted to become a director or something involved in the movie industry, but my study and everything was different. In my family, my mom is a good dancer, my dad studied in drama school, so we have a little understanding about that, which came a little from the family. So, the first time I tried was in 2008-09, but I could not finish that project for some reason." "Then I tried again in 2011, but again, we could not find the right person who could do the job together, because in this type of thing, finding the right director or person who can guide you is tricky. I found my friend, Jitendra Mishra. So, I thought, this is the guy with whom I can do the job. So, that's where the conversation started, and we were sort of working on this project for the last four years." Panda further discussed Odisha's cinema. According to him, the Odisha film market is still struggling; however, it is getting better, and with achievements like his film reaching Cannes, it gives a boost to the industry overall. "Odisha market, it's not that strong at the moment. But it's getting better. So, there was last... I don't know, maybe 5 to 10 years, there was a gap where people were not supporting that much, however, now things are improving," he said. Written and directed by internationally acclaimed filmmaker Jitendra Mishra, 'Baghuni' is the first international co-production from Odisha, featuring celebrated Odia actor Sabyasachi Mishra as the lead actor, and boasts a talented crew that includes multiple National Award-winning industry professionals.

Aishwarya Rai At Cannes: Best And Worst Red Carpet Moments
With the 78th Cannes Film Festival around the corner, we can't wait to see what celebrities are going to wear at the international event. Known for iconic red carpet looks and star-studded guest list, one name which has been a familiar part of the grand festival is Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. From her viral lavender lip moment to her iconic Michael Cinco ball gown, the Devdas actor has a history of memorable looks worn over the years. Representing India not just as an actress but also as a fashion force, the former Miss World has been regular at the Festival des Cannes since 2002. With a trail of some iconic looks, here are some of the worst and the best Aishwarya Rai Bachchan moments at Cannes so far. Aishwarya Rai's Best Looks At Cannes With her debut at the Cannes Film Festival in 2002, Aishwarya has several iconic looks to her kitty, but we could only pick a few: 1. All That Glitters Is Gold Bestowing glamour and elegance upon the world, Aishwarya Rai went all out at the 'Two Days, One Night' ('Deux Jours, Une Nuit') premiere during the 67th Annual Cannes Film Festival in 2014. Hugging Aishwarya's curves to perfection, luxury brand Roberto Cavalli created a stunning gold-embellished gown for the former Miss World. The shimmery strapless, fishtail dress was complemented with cascading hair and red nails, lips. 2. Princess Glam In Blue Nothing says elegance like a dramatic ball gown! Aishwarya Rai won millions of hearts at the Cannes Film Festival red carpet in 2017 with this Cinderella-esque gown by Dubai-based Filipino designer Michael Cinco. The frosty blue off-the-shoulder dress had intricate floral embroidery that came together in delicate pleats and a voluminous skirt. Her straight hair and minimal accessories made the princess moment on the red carpet even more magical. 3. The Butterfly Effect Aishwarya Rai wore this beautiful gown at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival. Inspired by a butterfly metamorphosis, this Michael Cinco featured a 20-foot train, sweetheart neckline, and sculpted silhouette. The elaborate gown was dazzled with Swarovski crystals, French palettes, and ultraviolet, midnight blue, and red threadwork. In an interview with Harper Bazaar, the designer revealed that the gown took 3000 hours to make. 4. White-Hued Wonder Aishwarya Rai has dazzled in white at the Cannes Film Festival, not once but several times. From the 2004 Neeta Lulla cut-out gown to the 2007 strapless Giorgio Armani number, she looked absolutely stunning in all white. Even the flirty floral Armani dress she wore in 2005 made her look simple yet drop-dead gorgeous! She took things a step further in white in her Roberto Cavalli ruffled gown that not only complemented her figure but also made her look effortlessly chic. 5. Oh-So-Elegant Dresses Aishwarya's looks at the 2011 Cannes Festival are worth a mention! While the white and blue Armani Prive outfit added contemporary glamour to her demenor, the off-shoulder embroidered Elie Saab brought ethereal sophistication to the red carpet look. Not just in 2011, Aishwarya just knew how to rock asymmetrical, off-shoulder and simple yet elegant dresses. 6. The Iconic Saree Who can forget Aishwarya's first red carpet appearance at Cannes Film Festival in 2002? The look was simple gold. Accompanied by Shah Rukh Khan, the 51-year-old arrived at the grand festival in a chariot in a yellow saree and we loved the drama! Looking ravishing in a Neeta Lulla saree, she represented India for the first time at the festival in the most traditional, elegant way. Aishwarya Rai's Worst Looks At Cannes 1. Kinds of Kindness Red Carpet The 77th annual Cannes Film Festival saw a series of bad looks and Aishwarya Rai's fringe dress by Falguni Shane Peacock made to the list of "worst-dressed." She looked lost in a sea of fabric. Even the second silver-foil look at 2024 Cannes did not do justice to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. 2. The Purple Lip While the outfit at the 2016 Cannes festival was not all bad, it was really the purple lipstick that made Aishwarya a subject of memes. While we applaud the actress for being experimental, many found the colour troll worthy. It may not have been her best look, but there is nothing wrong with taking a bit of a risk! 3. Cleopatra Premiere in 2013 Aishwarya being who she is looked ethereal in a teal blue Gucci gown at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival, but the makeup was far from perfect. The beehive-style bun lacked movement and felt disconnected from the otherwise elegant outfit. Even the styling lines in the hair made it look forced. From the mismatched lip colour to the overly dramatic eyes to a lack of balance, the makeup didn't work either0 - all of which made this look a miss! 4. Overstyled Misstep At the 72nd Cannes Film Festival, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's feather-donned Ashi Studio gown included layers of tulle and chiffon. The look drew mixed reviews, with critics pointing out heavy eye makeup and voluminous hairdo as overpowering the dress's delicate charm.
