JoJo Siwa has confirmed her romantic relationship with reality star Chris Hughes, saying the connection that began on the U.K.'s Celebrity Big Brother has turned into something more than friendship.
Siwa called their bond "a beautiful development" in an interview with The Guardian published on Monday. She added, "I'm absolutely head over heels for him and he's the same way."
The pair met during filming and quickly grew close, with Hughes defending Siwa when fellow contestant Mickey Rourke made comments about her sexuality. Siwa said the emotional intensity of the show fast-tracked their relationship.
She added that she and Hughes had clarified with each other, "No, this is a very genuine connection—we're not faking a thing." After some hesitation, she confirmed to The Guardian, "It's not platonic any more."

Their closeness had sparked speculation, especially as Siwa was in a relationship at the time with Australian actor Kath Ebbs. She said in the interview that she and Ebbs had since broken up and described the time after the show as one of self-discovery.
"People can see our chemistry, and they got to see it develop," Siwa said of her relationship with Hughes, adding, "I think everyone's just curious, and I can't blame them."
The 22-year-old former child star also opened up about her evolving sexual identity. While she initially came out as gay and later identified as a lesbian, she now uses the term queer.
"There's a lot of different sexual identities. I think there's nothing more beautiful than somebody discovering themselves," she said.

Siwa, who rose to fame on Dance Moms and built a business empire in her teens, described the experience of living publicly as complex.
"I do live this very, very big public life that has so many eyeballs on it, and it can get really hard to navigate," she said. "But I'm also living a human life. You can't help who you love."
Despite the media attention and speculation, Siwa said she was focused on her own happiness. "I was massaging my cheeks," she said, laughing. "I've never been in pain from smiling so much."
She discussed waking up next to Hughes, lying in bed and sharing music—including hearing him sing her new single "Bulletproof" in the morning. "It's the first time in my life that it feels like I'm switched off," she said.
Before his connection with Siwa, Hughes was in a relationship with former Little Mix singer Jesy Nelson. The couple dated for over a year, drawing significant media attention, before splitting in 2020.

Coronation Street legend accidentally reveals Emmerdale crossover spoiler
A Coronation Street legend seems to have accidentally revealed a major Emmerdale crossover episode spoiler, which is set to air next year. Jack P Shepherd who has played the iconic character of mischievous David Platt since 2000 has teased he could be taking part in the Corrie and Emmerdale special. The Celebrity Big Brother winner appears to be the first soap star to "confirm" their involvement in the one-hour segment, announced by ITV last month. When catching up with Digital Spy at the British Soap Awards recently, Jack let slip the exciting news on the red carpet. When the actor was asked if he will be involved in the 'unprecedented' episode, which will see characters from both soaps come together in a celebration of the soap genre, he 'confidently' replied: "Yes!" But Jack's Weatherfield co-star Ben Price (David's brother Nick Tilsley), interrupted: "Are you meant to say that?" Jack responded: "I don't know!" Ben then advised his on-screen sibling not to give any details away, to which Jack continued: "I don't know if I am. Not for a fact, I don't. 'The big key hitters, I think they might have been told. There's rumours – and I'm sniffing that I might be in the periphery." He then joked: "With my Yorkshire accent. I think I'm in it, talking Yorkshire and they're like: 'Where are you from? Are you from Bradford?'" Jack's soap tease might be the news some viewers have been wanting for, as one posted on X: "corrie and emmerdale crossover episode. I need david platt & ross barton , charity & tracy , mandy & carla oh the possibilities." The "mash-up" of two of the nation's most beloved soaps is set to air on ITV next year and will be the first of its kind in British soap history. It will mark the broadcaster's new 'power hour' of soap which begins on ITV1 and STV in January 2026. ITV said the producers, scriptwriters and production teams have 'conceived an ingenious way of linking the two universes, but with characters then returning to the soaps they are renowned for inhabiting in Manchester and Yorkshire'. This month, Corrie and Emmerdale fans will be given the chance to vote for two characters (one from each soap) that they would like to see interact in a scene. Details will be launched in June via Coronation Street and Emmerdale's Instagram, Facebook and TikTok accounts, so keep an eye out if you want to get involved.

Widely recognized for his groundbreaking contributions to gay fiction and memoirs, White was a major figure in LGBTQ+ literature for decades. His death has led to an outpouring of tributes from fans and the literary world. Here are more details about Edmund White's death. Edmund White, the acclaimed American author who helped redefine gay literature, has died at the age of 85. According to his agent Bill Clegg, White passed away on Tuesday evening while waiting for an ambulance after suffering symptoms related to a stomach illness. White became a leading voice in LGBTQ+ literature beginning in the 1970s. He was best known for his 1982 novel A Boy's Own Story, which reflected his own experience growing up gay in mid-20th-century America. It was the first in a semi-autobiographical trilogy that also includes The Beautiful Room Is Empty and The Farewell Symphony. Born in Ohio in 1940 and raised in Illinois, White initially planned to attend Harvard but chose the University of Michigan so he could stay close to a therapist who claimed he could 'cure' homosexuality. He went on to live in New York and San Francisco, building a career in freelance journalism and magazine editing before publishing his debut novel, Forgetting Elena, in 1973. (via The Guardian) Over the years, White published more than 30 works. These include memoirs, essays, and biographies of literary figures like Jean Genet and Marcel Proust. His final memoir, The Loves of My Life, was released in 2025. White's husband, Michael Carroll, remembered him as kind, generous, and wise. He said, 'He was wise enough to be kind nearly always. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle feared King Charles delayed their children's passports over royal titles: report
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle feared that King Charles had delayed the issuing of Archie and Lilibet's passports over the use of their HRH titles, according to a report. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex waited nearly six months for their children's official documents to be issued — and believed that their application had been 'blocked' by the monarch, The Guardian reports. In their submitted applications, the couple listed Archie and Lilibet's last names as Sussex — which the family had started using in place of their previous surname, Mountbatten-Windsor. 5 Prince Harry and Meghan Markle feared that King Charles had delayed the issuing of Archie and Lilibet's passports over the use of their HRH titles, according to a report. Mirrorpix / MEGA 'There was clear reluctance to issue passports for the kids,' a source close to the Sussexes told the outlet. The insider claimed Charles, 76, 'hadn't wanted Archie and Lili to carry the titles, most of all the HRH, and the British passports, once created, would be the first and perhaps the only legal proof of their names.' Meanwhile, it was recently reported that Harry sought out his uncle Earl Spencer's counsel about taking his late mother's last name during a recent trip to the UK. The source added that the Invictus Games founder had asked for his uncle's advice out of 'sheer exasperation.' A spokesperson for the duke told The Post, 'We do not comment on private issues pertaining to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's children.' 5 The Duke and Duchess of Sussex waited nearly six months for their children's official documents to be issued. Alexi Lubomirski / Duke and Duch The Post understands that Harry's meeting with Earl Spencer about the family name did go ahead, however, recent reports alleging that Spencer had warned that the legal process would be overly complex are 'wholly inaccurate.' Buckingham Palace released a statement over Harry and the 'Suits' alum's HRH titles after the couple announced their departure from royal life in 2020. 'The Sussexes will not use their HRH titles as they are no longer working members of the royal family,' the palace said at the time. While no laws were put in place to prevent the duo from referring to themselves as His Royal Highness and Her Royal Highness, the pair did tell the late Queen Elizabeth II they would adhere to the agreement. 5 The Sussexes reportedly believed that their application had been 'blocked' by the monarch. meghan/Instagram As grandchildren of the king, Archie and Lilibet would have retained their HRH titles had they remained within the royal fold. However, after their parents stepped down as senior members of the royal family, the legitimacy of their titles was called into question. Still, palace officials have strongly denied that the king had anything to do with Archie and Lilibet's passport application process. Although the standard processing time for a British passport is around three weeks, the Sussexes reportedly faced a three-month delay due to unspecified 'technical issues.' 5 Palace officials have strongly denied that the king had anything to do with Archie and Lilibet's passport application process. POOL/AFP via Getty Images In response, they reportedly submitted a new application through the urgent 24-hour fast-track service — but their planned meeting was abruptly called off at the eleventh hour, allegedly due to a 'systems failure.' Archie and Lilibet's passports were ultimately granted shortly after Harry and Markle's legal team issued a strongly worded letter indicating they would file a data subject access request. 'Harry was at a point where British passports for his children with their updated Sussex surnames (since the death of Elizabeth II) were being blocked with a string of excuses over the course of five months,' a source told the outlet. 'Out of sheer exasperation he went to his uncle to effectively say, 'My family are supposed to have the same name and they're stopping that from happening because the kids are legally HRH, so if push comes to shove, if this blows up and they won't let the kids be called Sussex, then can we use Spencer as a surname?'' Unsurprisingly, the move likely would not have been well received by King Charles and Prince William, both of whom have long taken pride in the Mountbatten-Windsor name. As it stands, members of the monarchy who are descendants of the late Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip can take up the Mountbatten-Windsor last name. The family name combines the Windsor name with Philip's adopted surname of Mountbatten. 5 Harry, 40, reportedly wants his children to keep their HRH titles until they are old enough to decide which path they want to follow. Meghan/ Instagram It's been reported that the 'Spare' author, 40, wants his children to retain their HRH titles, allowing them the freedom to decide in the future whether to return to royal duties or continue building their lives in the US. Last month, frustrated Brits demanded that Harry and Markle be stripped of their royal titles, telling The Post in exasperation, 'Enough is enough.'
