JoJo Siwa has confirmed her romantic relationship with reality star Chris Hughes, saying the connection that began on the U.K.'s Celebrity Big Brother has turned into something more than friendship.
Siwa called their bond "a beautiful development" in an interview with The Guardian published on Monday. She added, "I'm absolutely head over heels for him and he's the same way."
The pair met during filming and quickly grew close, with Hughes defending Siwa when fellow contestant Mickey Rourke made comments about her sexuality. Siwa said the emotional intensity of the show fast-tracked their relationship.
She added that she and Hughes had clarified with each other, "No, this is a very genuine connection—we're not faking a thing." After some hesitation, she confirmed to The Guardian, "It's not platonic any more."

Their closeness had sparked speculation, especially as Siwa was in a relationship at the time with Australian actor Kath Ebbs. She said in the interview that she and Ebbs had since broken up and described the time after the show as one of self-discovery.
"People can see our chemistry, and they got to see it develop," Siwa said of her relationship with Hughes, adding, "I think everyone's just curious, and I can't blame them."
The 22-year-old former child star also opened up about her evolving sexual identity. While she initially came out as gay and later identified as a lesbian, she now uses the term queer.
"There's a lot of different sexual identities. I think there's nothing more beautiful than somebody discovering themselves," she said.

Siwa, who rose to fame on Dance Moms and built a business empire in her teens, described the experience of living publicly as complex.
"I do live this very, very big public life that has so many eyeballs on it, and it can get really hard to navigate," she said. "But I'm also living a human life. You can't help who you love."
Despite the media attention and speculation, Siwa said she was focused on her own happiness. "I was massaging my cheeks," she said, laughing. "I've never been in pain from smiling so much."
She discussed waking up next to Hughes, lying in bed and sharing music—including hearing him sing her new single "Bulletproof" in the morning. "It's the first time in my life that it feels like I'm switched off," she said.
Before his connection with Siwa, Hughes was in a relationship with former Little Mix singer Jesy Nelson. The couple dated for over a year, drawing significant media attention, before splitting in 2020.

CANDICE Looks to '70s Cinema and Bush Traditions for FW25

Summary: CANDICEhas never been a brand to play it safe. For Fall/Winter 2025, the label dives into uncharted terrain with 'Frog Dreamin,' a collection that feels both ruggedly local and strikingly global. Drawing from Australia's untamed landscapes and the subcultures that pulse within them, 'Frog Dreaming' channels an aesthetic of fluid creativity and layered storytelling. The collection nods to a forgotten era of Australian cinema in the '70s and '80s, weaving nostalgic graphic references into garments that celebrate bush life, athletic codes and utilitarian traditions. Silhouettes lean into function, such as workwear staples reinterpreted through softened lines, trekking gear reimagined with a contemporary ease and vintage washes that evoke the rawness of the terrain. Accessories underscore the narrative, grounding the collection in CANDICE's ongoing dialogue between memory, landscape and the fluid identities of its wearers. The result is a wardrobe that feels lived-in yet cinematic, bridging past and present. As with every CANDICE season, the unexpected becomes the point where pieces designed to slip between worlds, made for those who prefer their fashion untethered. 'Frog Dreaming' will release globally on August 27 viaCANDICE's website.

Jade Thirlwall Says She Has a ‘Daily Battle' to Avoid Trying Ozempic After Past Eating Disorder

Little Mix alum Jade Thirlwall is opening up about her ongoing recovery from disordered eating. 'I have a daily battle with myself not to go on Ozempic,' Thirlwall, 32, told The Guardian in a profile published on Saturday, August 16. 'I don't judge people that do, but because I have a history of eating disorders, I don't know where taking something like that would end for me.' Thirlwall battled anorexia as a teenager and has since been in recovery. 'Now, I'm in my 30s and the healthiest I've ever been, but every time I post a picture, there are comments saying, 'She must be pregnant.' The sad thing is that it's usually women,' she told the outlet, revealing how online comments about her body impact her mental health. Chelsea Handler, Kyle Richards and More Celebrities Who've Spoken About the Ozempic Weight Loss Trend Thirlwall added, 'People are used to seeing me in a group environment, five or 10 years ago, when I was stick-thin because I was in my early 20s with an eating disorder. Thirlwall rose to fame in British girl group Little Mix alongside Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Perrie Edwards and Jesy Nelson after the group was created on The X Factor UK. After Nelson, 34, left the band in 2020, the remaining members continued as a trio. They later went on a hiatus in 2022. While speaking with The Guardian, Thirlwall mused that her old disordered eating thoughts frequently popped up during the band's heyday. 'I didn't think it at the time, but when I look back at photos of periods when I was quite unhappy, I think, 'Wow, girlie, you were very, very thin,'' the Brit Award winner said. 'The pattern was there. Historically, if I've ever felt that something is out of my control, then restricting food has been a means of controlling my life in a very toxic way.' Stars Who've Battled Eating Disorders: Taylor Swift, Laurie Hernandez and More Thirlwall had previously been candid about how she was able to overcome her battle with anorexia. 'It got to the point when I knew I needed someone else to tell, harboring a horrible secret like that is obviously really damaging to your mental health and, obviously, my physical health,' she recalled on the BBC Sounds' 'Life Hacks' podcast in 2019. 'The minute I started to actually talk to people about it was the minute I started to get better.' Thirlwall sought treatment at a local hospital when she was 18 years old. Her discharge was approved several weeks before her audition for The X Factor. Video of man beating up woman at Rüfüs Du Sol show at Rose Bowl sparks outrage

Chaotic footage was captured Saturday night at Rose Bowl Stadium of a man brutally beating a woman in the stands during a Rüfüs Du Sol concert. Other concertgoers expressed shock over the incident, and some attendees said they were concerned about crowd control and safety measures at the sold-out show. The video, shared by festival news platform Festive Owl, shows a man knocking a woman to the ground and repeatedly throwing punches at her while other attendees try to pull him back. 'This man punched me in the face, knocking me out and causing significant bleeding, while he continued attacking our group,' the woman wrote in a message shared by Festive Owl. She is asking for the public's help in identifying the man after the attack, which took place in Section 12-H, Row 20 at the venue. The victim said the man became agitated after a drink was accidentally spilled on him. According to the woman, he then yelled that the spill was intentional and stormed off before returning 30 minutes later screaming and threatening violence. 'I tried to calm the situation and apologized again — and the next thing I remember I woke up in a medical tent an hour later and missed the entire show,' the woman wrote. The Australian electronic music trio said in a statement shared on social media Monday night that they were heartbroken to hear about the act of violence that took place during the opening act of their show. They encouraged anyone with information on the incident to contact the Pasadena Police Department. 'This type of behavior is completely unacceptable anywhere and the fact that this happened at one of our shows was devastating to hear about,' the group wrote. 'Local law enforcement is actively investigating the situation.' The concert organizers were criticized on social media, with fans complaining about long lines, the packed venue and poor crowd control, with some citing fears that it could have turned into a tragedy similar to the fatal crowd crush at 2021 Astroworld. 'It was honestly out of control. It was a circus. It was not safe, and I'm very angry,' a concertgoer identified as Derek told NBC4 News. Christina Molina told KTLA News that the venue was so packed people were watching the show from the walkway. 'I literally had people pressed up against my back, all of them blocking that entire walkway,' she told the station. 'Crowd control was nonexistent.'
