PM urges awareness boost for Ramadan relief package amid low withdrawal

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has instructed relevant ministries to work with the private sector to reassess the effectiveness and outreach of the awareness campaign for the 20 billion rupees Ramadan Relief Package.
During a review of the package's monitoring mechanism at the National Telecommunication Corporation in Islamabad, the Prime Minister highlighted that only about 20 percent of the funds have been withdrawn from digital wallets, attributing this low uptake to a lack of awareness.
He encouraged eligible individuals to call 9999 to obtain the necessary information regarding the digital wallet system.
"This relief package is not a favour, but a right for the deserving people," the Prime Minister emphasised.
Shehbaz Sharif further explained that for the first time, cash transfers of 5,000 rupees are being made to deserving families in a transparent manner, enabling them to purchase items based on their own preferences and needs. He added that the initiative will benefit four million families.
The Prime Minister also requested input from relevant stakeholders within a week to explore the possibility of expanding the scope of the relief package.

Pakistan's high-level multi party delegation arrives in London
The nine-member high level parliamentary delegation led by former Foreign Minister and Chairman Pakistan People's Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has arrived in London after completing successful visits to Washington and New York, Radio Pakistan reported. They will also highlight that dialogue and diplomacy should take precedence over conflict and confrontation. The delegation will underscore the imperative for the international community to play its due role in promoting a lasting peace in South Asia.
