BLAIR COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — A wildlife rehabilitation center is now looking after a Bald Eagle that was electrocuted.
According to the Logan Township Police Department, on Tuesday, April 4 officers were called about a Bald Eagle that was believed to be electrocuted when it landed on live wires. The bird fell to the ground and officers along with the Pennsylvania Game Commission came to the rescue.
The eagle was rescued and taken to Centre Wildlife Care to be rehabilitated. As you can see below, the eagle may not have been very happy with the officers, but they hope to see him released after proper care.
Centre Wildlife Care thanked officers for their actions and noted that it's the second eagle they have in their care being treated for electrocution.
Bald Eagles as well as being the nation's symbol are protected under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act and the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act. These acts prevent the killing, selling and harming of the birds and their eggs.

DUBOIS, Pa. (WTAJ) — A DuBois mother is facing charges after her 4-year-old allegedly fell out of a second-story window. Jenny Etna Marie Travis, 22, was charged Monday, June 9, with one felony count of endangering the welfare of a child, stemming from an incident that occurred in May. According to charging documents, Sandy Township Police were called to a complex at 200 Hanes Drive in Sandy Township at around 1:30 p.m. May 15. Upon arrival, the responding officer found a 4-year-old on the sidewalk with a window screen near him. The child was crying and had scrapes on his head and was bleeding. The officer also noted the child's diaper was 'so engorged with urine that it exploded on impact.' The child was rushed to Penn Highlands DuBois and immediately flown to the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. PD: Man on meth tried to burn someone's American flag in Elk County A neighbor, who called 911, told police they saw the screen fall to the ground, then a moment later, the child did too. According to the complaint, they ran over to try to render aid and called 911. Police asked to see inside Travis' apartment and the window. They noted in the affidavit of probable cause that the window was low and about eight inches from the floor, and the bottom of the window was open. Through the investigation, it was learned that Child and Youth Services (CYS) had previously dealt with Travis and documented that she was told not to open the lower part of the window. According to the affidavit, police also noted they have called CYS in the past due to deplorable living conditions. Police added that an infant was sleeping in a bassinet in the room with the window the child fell out of. Another young child in another room was allegedly sleeping on a stained mattress with no sheets and just a throw blanket. According to the complaint, the father of the child was not home at the time. He told police he was on his way to Clearfield when Travis called him and he turned around to go right preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 11. ALTOONA, Pa. (WTAJ) — A wanted Altoona woman who police said had two active warrants was arrested and jailed Tuesday. On Monday, June 9, Altoona police made a Facebook post in an attempt to locate 43-year-old Crystal Dollar. According to police, the Blair County Sheriff's Office had two felony warrants regarding her failure to appear on possession with intent to deliver drug cases from Altoona police and state police. Altoona police updated the post that she had been found Tuesday. According to a criminal complaint, police received numerous tips from the community and were able to locate Dollar in the attic of a home, trying to hide under a blanket. She allegedly told officers she got scared when she heard them knocking and tried to hide the best she documents filed June 10 show that Dollar was charged with one felony count of fleeing to avoid apprehension. PD: Man on meth tried to burn someone's American flag in Elk County

SAINT MARYS, Pa. (WTAJ) — Saint Marys police said they arrested a man who was under the influence and tried to burn someone's American flag overnight. Kierre A. Dugger, 27, with a last known address in Bellefonte, was arrested in the early morning hours of Tuesday, June 10, and charged with maliciously taking down a flag, loitering and profiling at night time, criminal mischief and public drunkenness. According to the criminal complaint, Saint Marys police were called to a home on Erie Avenue at around 2:19 a.m. after the homeowner called about someone on their porch trying to tear down flags, including an American flag, and lighting them on fire. The homeowner claimed to the police that Dugger tried lighting flags on fire, then began knocking on the windows of the home. When police arrived, they said Duggar came out to the sidewalk and was taken into custody. According to charging documents, Duggar admitted to police he was under the influence of both methamphetamine and alcohol. It was noted that police found a black lighter on the ground with the was arraigned Tuesday morning and placed in Elk County Prison with bail set at $5,000.
