A-level results day 2025 – what time are the grades released?
THE first weeks of August are a nerve-wracking experience for students. Since exam season wrapped in June, students have been waiting for their A-level results. 2 From Thursday morning, the wait is finally over and 250,000 students will know whether they landed a spot at their first choice university. What time can you access your A-level results? A-level results will be available for students at most UK schools and colleges online at 8am Thursday 14th August, via email or student portal. If you are unable to access your results online, most institutes still allow for students to collect a paper copy on the day in person. You can also opt to receive your results by post however the speed of this option is dependant on the postal network in your area. What are the grade boundaries for A-levels 2025? With marking complete, the 2025 grade boundaries are now finalised and will be made public with results Thursday morning. Students that believe they were marked unfairly or received a mark just short of a higher grade can appeal. If you didn't get the results you hoped for, there is also the option to resit your exams. Retaking A-levels will inevitably delay the start of your university experience by a year. 2 Clearing Staying back a year to resit examinations while all your mates head off can be tough but thankfully this isn't the only option. If you have a disappointing results day, Clearing could help you land a place so you can still start in September. Clearing is the process by which universities fill open spaces on courses. While Clearing 2025 opened on the 5th of July, the majority of placements happen after results day. The process involves ringing universities with your grades and negotiating a place, sometimes on a slightly different course. There's often a mini interview on the phone, so prep what you want to say before getting in contact. During the Clearing process, universities tend to be far more forgiving in terms of their qualifying criteria.
