Tebbutt Academy shines at provincial championship with 60 medals
The Lambton-based school walked away with 29 gold, 21 silver and 10 bronze medals, leading the scoreboard with 518 points.
According to a proud Kancho Alex Tebbutt, the founder, the academy had 29 students from the age of five compete.

'The competition was tough, but we dominated again. I am a bit tough on my students, but that is what they need to succeed,' said Tebbutt.
'We are now training karate and kickboxing because we have tournaments ahead which require both,' said Tebbutt.
The school will next compete in the Kickboxing Organisation of South Africa (KOSA) SA Open Championships in Lenasia.
The students will compete in semi and light contact, low kick light, full contact and K1.
Student Solakele Ndhlovu won two gold and one silver medal at the Gauteng Provincial Championship.

She said she was not happy about her silver because she had aimed for gold, but attributed it to her lack of focus and mistakes during the fight.
'I will now compete for the first time in kickboxing at the KOSA event. I started martial arts almost a year ago, and am improving every time I compete,' said Ndhlovu.
'Since I was young, I was fascinated with martial arts, but my father never allowed me to join. After matric, I decided to join and tell him weeks later. He now supports and encourages me.

'Thanks to Kancho Alex and other teachers (senseis), I keep winning and improving.
'This year only, I was mugged four times and survived by disarming the people aiming to rob me. One guy had a firearm pointing at me, and I disarmed him before he took off,' said Ndhlovu.

Ferndale Shotokan Karate Dojo wins big at championships
Ferndale-based Shotokan Karate Dojo bagged 13 medals at the Pan African Shotokan Karate-Do Federation's (PSFK) National Women's Cup Championship that was held in Kwa-Thema. Under the guidance and training of sensei Alex Sylvain Luenga, the students participated in kata (technique) and kumite (fighting), raking in the medals for the dojo – four golds, five silver and four bronze. 'The dojo mainly trains children from the age of four and young adults from the surrounding areas of Randburg, like Ferndale, Linden, and Windsor. We teach them skills of discipline, which ensures that they can defend themselves at all times.' Danie Myeza, who bagged a gold medal in kumite and a silver medal for kata, said she is truly honoured by her achievements, even though it hasn't been an easy task throughout the past few years. 'We are proud of our students who participated in the championships, bringing home medals and representing Ferndale dojo with pride. The journey is still long, but we believe in our students' potential,' said Luenga. The dojo currently offers two days of training, on Saturdays and Sundays. As it serves low-income students and is community-based, the focus is on instilling discipline and developing their self-confidence. BREAKING: Kaizer Chiefs announces new striker
Kaizer Chiefs have announced the signing of new striker Etiosa Ighodaro. The 24-year-old Nigerian forward scored five goals in 25 matches last season for AmaZulu. He was on loan to the KZN-based side from Mamelodi Sundowns. In recent weeks, the striker has been linked to Kaizer Chiefs after his loan spell ended at AmaZulu. On Tuesday morning, Amakhosi announced that the Nigerian forward was their eighth signing of the season. 'Kaizer Chiefs have acquired the services of another striker, Etiosa Ighodaro.
