Hong Kong cycling's Vincent Lau ready to be National Games leader after coach demand
Lau, a 2022 Asian Games medallist and Paris 2024 Olympian, is a domestique for Roojai Insurance, the Thai team he joined last year.
'I transport bidons [water bottles] to my teammates [from team car], help control the peloton, and spend time at the front to do lead outs and take the wind,' Lau said.
'It's giving me more experience. We have to make the race; be aggressive and attentive. With Hong Kong, we're not so [prominent] in races.'
After Lau recently relinquished his Hong Kong time trial title to Chu Tsun-wai, head coach Herve Dagorne said: 'I don't see the anger in him, sometimes, I want to see more willing'.

The characteristically reserved Lau said Dagorne 'wants me to race more aggressively and, sometimes, be more vocal'.

Hong Kong public urged to ‘come and cheer' city to National Games glory
Hongkongers have been urged to unite behind the city's athletes and 'cheer them to greatness' in this year's National Games. Eight events are being staged in the city as it jointly hosts the 15th edition of the Games along with Guangdong and Macau. Saudi Super Cup in Hong Kong: Ronaldo trains in rain, 2 more teams arrive
Two more Saudi Super Cup teams were set to arrive in Hong Kong on Friday to join Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr as the city continued preparations to stage the competition next week. Ronaldo had sparked excitement when he and his Al-Nassr teammates arrived on Thursday, drawing a crowd of fans to the Regent Hong Kong hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui after word spread of the Portuguese's arrival. An even bigger crowd of fans were camped outside the hotel by the time they re-emerged to head to training, which took place in heavy rain, as Hong Kong continued to endure stormy weather after Tropical Storm Podul lashed the region. Two of Al-Nassr's Super Cup opponents, Al-Ittihad and Al-Qadsiah, set off from Saudi Arabia on Thursday for the tournament, being hosted in Hong Kong for the first time. Al-Ittihad, who include former Real Madrid and France forward Karim Benzema, posted on the team's social media that they were heading to Hong Kong. Al-Qadsiah also began the roughly nine-hour journey. 'Next stop: Hong Kong,' the club posted. 'See you there.'
