THE family of British tourist fear he won't survive after he vanished on a night out in Thailand before being found on life support.
Ashton Jones, 29, was separated from his friends in Bangkok and was mysteriously later found in a hospital having emergency brain surgery.

He flew to the Thai capital "on a whim" with a pal, where they met another friend and spent five days "making unforgettable memories".
But Ashton's family back in Wales were devastated when they found out he had disappeared while partying with friends and had been found fighting for his life.
His pals said they spent hours searching for him after went missing from the nightclub they were in.
Medics in Thailand believe Ashton - who suffers from epilepsy and lives with nan Beverley Walker - was violently attacked.

Ashton's distraught cousin Sophie, 26, said his loved ones are "worried sick".
Their distress was amplified when a picture sent to them appeared to show Ashton tied to his hospital bed.
She told The Sun: "It's heartbreaking because we're all really close.
"We're shocked and going out of our minds because we don't know what's going on.

Anxious Beverley said the family have put together their life savings to fund his treatment - but is still not enough to cover the huge bill.
She is battling to bring Ashton back to the UK as precious time slips back to save him.

Beverley said: "I am deeply concerned that without immediate financial or diplomatic assistance, my grandson may not survive.
"The emotional toll on our family is immense. We are heartbroken and fearful, watching from afar while Ashton suffers without the care he urgently requires."
Beverley said on Monday, almost a week after Ashton went into hospital on June 3, workers at Chonburi Hospital tried to wake him up.
She added: "It was a success but he still has a long way to go, he's bed-bound and suffering with fits, cannot talk, eat or drink and isn't aware.

"We all as a family are worried sick with fear for Ashton and how we can bring him home."

Beverley said Ashton's treatment and funding to bring him to the UK will cost thousands - more than they can afford to scrape together.
She said Ashton's last-minute decision to head to Thailand meant he hadn't taken out insurance.

Beverley said: "The hospital in Thailand is asking for the cost of his treatment on going that is far beyond what our family can afford.
"In the meantime, Ashton's condition continues to deteriorate, and it feels as though we are being left helpless as time runs out.
"We have already put together life savings for medical bills, flights, travel, accommodation to be with him but would never be able to afford to get him home to better health care and his family."

So far, well-wishers have donated more than £3,000, which the family say they are incredibly grateful for.
A Foreign Office spokesman told The Sun: "We are supporting a British man who has been hospitalised in Thailand and are in contact with the local authorities."

Drug mule couple who claimed they were on ‘honeymoon' caught smuggling £99k worth of cannabis at UK airport
A COUPLE who claimed they were on their honeymoon were caught smuggling £99,000 worth of cannabis at a UK airport. Jeng Chow, 30, and Ley Wat, 25,were recruited as mules to carry the drugs for just £800 each in cash. The engaged pair had travelled from their native Malaysia with 28 vacuum-packed bags of cannabis stuffed in their cases. But they were stopped at Terminal 2 of Manchester Airport by Border Force officials. Chow and Wat shared a hug and kiss in the dock as they were jailed for a year and three months at Manchester Crown Court. They pleaded guilty to one count of being concerned in the fraudulent evasion of a prohibition on the importation of a class B drug. Prosecutors said Wat was in debt when he and Chow were recruited by smugglers to bring the drugs to the UK. The couple were provided with the cannabis and promised cash following a successful handover. They left Malaysia on April 16 and flew via Qatar before landing at Manchester. After they were caught with the drugs, Chow and Wat claimed they had travelled to the UK for their honeymoon. When she was interviewed by police, Wat told officers she believed her suitcase contained alcohol. Jay Slater bombshell as AirBnB host says he told teen plan was 'mad'
An investigator looking into the heartbreaking disappearance and death of British teen Jay Slater in Tenerife has uncovered the reason why the young lad ventured out on his own. Mark Williams-Thomas has been piecing together Jay's last movements following his time at the NRG music festival with mates at Papagayo nightclub in Playa de las Americas on 16 June last year. Jay headed to an AirBnB flat in the early hours, which was the final place he was spotted alive before his remains were discovered on 15 July by a mountain rescue squad from the Spanish Civil Guard close to the hamlet of Masca. Now, Mr Williams-Thomas disclosed that he conversed with Ayub Qassim, the AirBnB tenant, about his last dialogue with Jay on the morning he departed. Mr Qassim recounted: "He (Jay) said to me 'Pal I'm off, this woman told me I can get a bus every 10 minutes', I told him that he's mad, there's no bus that's coming here every 10 minutes, chill out for a bit and I'll drop you off later on. "He said, 'No, no I've got to go to Los Cristianos, I need to scram, I need to chip out'. There's nothing more that I could do," reports the Mirror. "I saw him walk off maybe down the steps. I maybe shut the door and said if you need me." The last sighting of Jay alive was chilling. Shortly before, the young lad from Lancashire had fired off a photo to a mate on Snapchat, showing off two knives at his AirBnB, with the haunting label: "I've got these for my protection." When quizzed about the snap, Mr Qassim insisted he was clueless about it. "I was asleep upstairs this is the first I've heard of knives," he stated. "I let him come to my house." Last month's inquest into Jay's death went ahead without Mr Qassim's presence. The probe was put on hold at the behest of the teenager's mum, Debbie. She demanded a halt until all crucial witnesses who might shed light on her lad's tragic demise are rounded up for testimony. In a heart-wrenching plea, she urged those who were with her son on the fateful holiday to step forward with the truth. She expressed: "We want these people to be sat in front of us, because our son went on holiday and didn't come back, so there's questions we need to ask." She underlined the necessity for the inquest to remain on pause until every key witness could be corralled to testify. This list involves Jay's pal Lucy Law, currently reported to be vacationing on the island, alongside Brandon Hodges and Bradley Hargreaves.
