Beyond its creative and strategic impact, the campaign also yielded impressive commercial results. Emirates Islamic's card acquisition surged by 95% during the launch month of May 2024, and spending experienced a robust 24% growth between May and December 2024, demonstrating the effectiveness in driving both customer engagement and significant portfolio growth.

The company reported a total revenue of AED 1,453 million, marking a 7.5% increase compared to the same period in 2024. EBITDA (Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization) reached AED 719 million, with a growth of 3.6% and the pre-tax net profit amounted to AED 442 million marking 3.3% growth compared to the first half of last year. The net profit after tax reached AED 403 million marking a 3.4% increase compared to the same period in 2024. Sustained Financial Performance Empower reported consolidated revenues of AED 3.36 billion for the twelve-month period from July 2024 to June 2025, compared to AED 3.16 billion in the period from July 2023 to June 2024; an increase of 6.3%. EBITDA for the same period reached AED 1.58 billion, compared to AED 1.50 billion previously, reflecting a growth of 5.1%. Empower Dividend Distributions Empower's Annual General Meeting, which was held in March with a quorum of 89.9%, approved the Board of Directors' recommendation to distribute cash dividends for the second half of 2024, amounting to AED 437.5 million in total, equivalent to 4.375 fils per share or 43.75% of the company's paid-up capital, which was paid in April, 2025 Business Growth in H1 2025 The first half of 2025 witnessed a significant growth in Empower's business. The company signed 86 new contracts to supply over 99,000 refrigeration tons (RT) to various projects across Dubai. This boosted Empower's total contracted capacity to 1.86 million RT, reflecting growing demand among developers and building owners for the environmentally friendly district cooling solutions. Empower signed two major agreements during the first half of 2025. The first one is with DMCC (Dubai Multi Commodities Centre), the leading international business district that drives the flow of global trade through Dubai, to supply district cooling services to the next phase of Uptown Dubai, for a capacity of 24,675 RT. The second one is for the Island project, by Wasl to supply environmentally friendly district cooling services for a total cooling capacity of 23,853 RT. Moreover, the company's total connected capacity exceeded 1.6 million RT following the addition of approximately 38,000 RT during the reporting period. Empower also reported a notable increase in its service footprint, with the total number of buildings it serves reaching 1,684 in the first half of 2025. Added value for customers and stakeholders: As part of its commitment to enhancing customer experience and addressing their service needs, Empower launched its Mobile Application in April 2025. The feature-packed mobile app, which is available to download on the Apple Store and Google Play Store, is a hassle-free solution for managing its customers' District Cooling Services accounts right at their fingertips. Empower's annual summer campaign, which was launched in June for the twelfth consecutive year under the slogan, 'Set and Save at 24°C', aiming to reduce electricity consumption for cooling, saw a significant acceptance among the company's nearly 148,000 customers. The campaign is being conducted as part of Empower's sustainability strategies and will run until the end of summer. Expansion: Aligning with Empower's strategy to strengthen the district cooling infrastructure and expand its services in strategically important areas of Dubai, the company announced a new district cooling plant in Al Sufouh 2 area during the reporting period. The foundation work has already started for the new plant, while construction is scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2025. This plant will be the first in a series of three future plant rooms that Empower plans to build in the area. The new plant will have a cooling capacity of 23,400 RT (RT) to serve several buildings, including the 'Innovation Hub,' one of the prominent landmarks in Al Sufouh. Strong Presence in International Forums: As a strong advocate of efficient cooling solutions globally, Empower continued strengthening its global presence during the reporting period. The company participated as a diamond sponsor in the International District Energy Association (IDEA) Campus Energy Conference 2025 in Boston, USA, in February, and the IDEA 2025 Annual Conference and Trade Show, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA, in June. IDEA is the world's leading organization in the field of district energy. During the IDEA 2025 Annual Conference, IDEA announced the reappointment of Bin Shafar as Member Emeritus on the Board of Directors of the Association for the seventh consecutive term. Accolades: Empower won three global awards at the IDEA 2025 Annual Conference and Trade Show. The company won two gold awards in the categories 'Total Number of Buildings Committed' & 'Total Building Area Committed' for district cooling services outside North America. This support aims to help them establish medium and small enterprises, especially in productive and industrial sectors with high market demand. The goal, Rahmy noted, is to enable them to channel their savings and capital into economically viable projects that generate strong returns compared to similar markets, while also contributing meaningfully to the national economy. He added that this backing is offered within a robust legislative framework, complemented by an extensive array of financial, technical, and technological services. These collectively help create a more flexible and effective business environment, providing diverse enterprises with secure opportunities for sustainable short- and long-term growth. Rahmy made these remarks during his participation in the sixth edition of the 'Egyptians Abroad Conference,' organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates' Affairs under the theme 'From Everywhere… Egypt is the Destination.' In his presentation, Rahmy outlined the wide range of services MSMEDA offers to support entrepreneurs. These include financial and non-financial services, marketing support, specialised training programmes, and community and human development initiatives. He also presented the agency's broader strategy to foster an enabling environment for new projects and to encourage Egyptian entrepreneurs abroad to transfer their expertise and invest in Egypt. Rahmy stressed that MSMEDA is implementing integrated and effective plans to highlight investment opportunities and partnerships with entrepreneurs from the Egyptian diaspora. This aligns with the state's vision to attract and localise investments from Egyptians abroad. The agency is tapping into the entrepreneurial experience of Egyptians working overseas by providing comprehensive support and adopting innovative financing mechanisms. These include venture capital financing—successfully launched in partnership with the World Bank—as well as lease financing, Islamic finance, and offering a portfolio of franchise brands to returning Egyptians to ensure stable and successful investments. He noted that the government's broader strategy focuses on building a competitive domestic market to attract diverse investments, thereby strengthening the national economy through increased project establishment, supporting local industries, conserving foreign currency reserves, and creating decent and sustainable employment opportunities. Rahmy also highlighted MSMEDA's active cooperation with the private sector, as well as its partnerships with local and international institutions to share expertise and enhance the sector's contribution to the local economy. This includes joint programmes in infrastructure development. Additionally, the agency is keen on signing cooperation agreements and establishing partnerships with banks and financing companies to diversify financial products and expand its client base. Rahmy praised the role of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in coordinating efforts across government entities to implement plans that attract Egyptians abroad and encourage them to invest their expertise and capital in Egypt. The Liwa Ajman Dates and Honey Festival, organized by the Ajman Department of Tourism Development ADTD, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman, concluded its 10th edition, which was held in the Emirates Hospitality Center from July 30 to August 3. The current edition witnessed wide Gulf participation, led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Sultanate of Oman, Jordan and Egypt, in addition to an elite group of participants from governmental and private entities, promoting the festival's position as a leading regional platform for celebrating agricultural and heritage production, and enhancing cultural communication between the peoples of Arab countries. The festival's latest edition features an eclectic array of events such as art performances and competitions across diverse categories and age groups. The agenda also included educational sessions on palm cultivation and beekeeping methods, along with a series of training workshops on local handicrafts, and a children's corner for hosting artistic events, competitions and educational activities. H.E. Mahmood Khaleel Alhashmi, Director-General of ADTD said: 'In its tenth year and with its remarkable success today, the Liwa Ajman Dates and Honey Festival proves its importance as a cultural platform that consolidates the local heritage and supports farmers, beekeepers and local project owners, strengthening the emirate's position as a prominent destination for traditional events.' He added: 'At the Ajman Department of Tourism Development, we are keen to expand and diversify the agenda of events with each session, developing content and achieving broad local and regional community participation. This reflects our dedication to highlighting Ajman's role as an emirate that preserves the Emirati identity and authentic values and seeks to transfer them to future generations.' The 10th edition hosted a series of workshops, most notably drawing on palm trunk, medal making using weaving techniques, the diamond coloring workshop, Suroud decoration workshop, Al Jafeer decorating workshop, and many others. It also held daily auctions for dates, honey and various traditional artefacts, part of the proceeds of which will be allocated to charity, in addition to traditional events that highlighted the Emirati culture. The event attracted widespread participation from the country's emirates, through its unique contests featuring various categories, including the Emirates of Ajman, North Emirates, Other Emirates, Citrus & Fruits, and Hoey Contest. Date contests covered the most well-known types, such as Khalas, Berhi, Lulu, Khenaizy, and Ajman Palms, while honey contests included types like Sumar, Crystallized, Sidr, Beeswax, and many others and Fruit contests included lemon, mango, and almond, figs, and Citrus. The 10th Liwa Ajman Dates and Honey Festival featured 61 exhibitors from across the nation, including farmers, beekeepers, entrepreneurs and business owners, in addition to representatives from various government and private entities. This dynamic gathering in a unique cultural environment contributes to safeguarding Ajman's rich heritage while enhancing its authentic identity and consolidating its pioneering position as a leading tourist and cultural destination, both regionally and globally.
