Air Canada Flight Attendants Launch Strike
More than 10,000 Air Canada flight attendants have gone on strike after negotiations between their union and the airline collapsed.
The Canadian Union of Public Employees, which represents the cabin crew, confirmed the walkout early on Saturday, stating that the strike began immediately after a deadline to reach a new collective agreement expired.
Union spokesperson Hugh Pouliot
said
the industrial action followed failed efforts to secure a deal with the airline.
The dispute centres on working conditions, pay, and job security, with the strike expected to cause widespread disruption to flights across Canada and international routes.
Air Canada, the country's largest airline, now faces mounting pressure as the labor stoppage threatens to impact thousands of passengers during a busy travel season.
The strike also underscores rising tensions in the aviation sector, where airlines worldwide are grappling with staff shortages, increased demand, and cost-of-living pressures affecting employees.

Iranian President to Visit Armenia, Belarus
Nada Mustafa Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian will head to Armenia and Belarus on Monday for a two-day visit, followed by a trip to China later this month to participate in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit.
