EXCLUSIVE Revealed: What REALLY happened at the poolside punch-up? The so-called '6'6 bully' at the heart of the brawl involving a football yob speaks out
In shocking footage the Oldham Athletic striker, 23, was seen launching the chair into the face of an innocent middle-aged woman who was trying to break up the fight.
Harratt has since claimed the fight was started by a '6'6 bully' who punched his friend.
But that man Brandon Watkins, 31, hit back at Harratt's claim that he started it, saying: 'I'm 6ft 4 for a start and I'm not a bully.'
Speaking exclusively to MailOnline, Brandon insisted the player 'provoked' his friends and their whole group were 'looking for a fight' when they arrived at the Marco Polo Hotel in San Antonio on Saturday afternoon.
He said: 'The fight happened on day five of our holiday. We'd been around that pool every day and getting on with everybody and making friends with people.
'These guys turned up and started throwing balls about. 'Several people were saying they're going to be trouble even before it kicked off.
'At one point one of his mates got in the pool next to me and just started aggressively splashing me. One of them said what are you looking at?
'They were just being a nightmare. One lad was winding us up. Kian was sat right next to him and if anything Kian was provoking him.
'Next thing I knew Kian picked up a chair and threw it.
'I got the impression he was intoxicated, they were sat near the bar before and if they were sober they wouldn't have acted like that.
'After the brawl happened people were buying us drinks and congratulating us, that's how bad this group were
'It's just outrageous for a footballer to behave like he did.'
The viral video shows Brandon's group clashing with Harratt's friends before the unnamed woman tried to intervene and was hit by a chair.
Several men including Brandon fell into the pool and another chair was thrown at them before hotel security rushed in to intervene.
Brandon - who was on holiday with four school friends - stayed with the injured woman and her friends after Harratt's group were kicked out of the hotel and later helped her back to her room because she had broken her toe in the fall.
He added: 'Would I have done that if I was a bully who was making them uncomfortable?'
Brandon's version is also backed up by a close pal of the woman who was hit by the chair.
The friend - who was sunbathing by the pool when the brawl kicked off - said: 'It was carnage, I've never seen anything like it in my life. My friend was injured. They were all just shouting and swearing at each other.
'She's an absolute angel and such a good person which is why she got involved - she saw people were arguing and she just went over to stop it.
'But when she did Kian spoke to her like she was a piece of shit and Brandon stepped in out of respect and said don't speak to a woman like that. Brandon threw the first punch then all Kian's friends got involved.'
After the footage emerged Kian claimed he was 'very apologetic' and 'felt terrible' but accused the woman of 'going down a bit easy'
The friend added: 'That's no apology, he has no remorse whatsoever. Him and his mates were kicked out of the hotel without apologising, he's only sorry because he has been identified.
'My friend is really embarrassed by the whole thing, it was a horrible experience made worse as people who have seen the video have been trolling her online.
'He's a professional footballer, a lot of kids look up to him and it's not a good reflection on his club.'
The brawl comes just three weeks after Harratt fired Oldham to Wembley glory, scoring the winning goal in extra-time of their 3-2 victory over Southend United to earn a League 2 spot next season.
Posting on TikTok, Harratt wrote: 'Just for the people who have seen the video circling the internet of me throwing a chair 'FOR ABSOLUTELY NO REASON'
'Here's the fella who started it all and let me just say he was the worst man you could ever come across and a bully!
'He was 6,6 and built like a brick! Anyway he was swimming over to young couples while they're all chilling and trying to make the lad feel uncomfortable flirting with there girls and all sorts of daft stuff like that!
'And one of my mates who is only 18 by the way jumped in the pool and started splashing him having a laugh like you do on holiday then it's stopped!
'After that my mate got out off the pool and the big fella shouted over to him wtf are you looking at so obviously my mates said to him I'm looking at you the fella has then flipped and started walking to my mate and the woman who gets hit with the chair is in this video here trying to stop him my pal then goes dancing over to him not expecting the man to punch him.
'But anyways he hit my pal in the face and dropped him and then proceeded to kick him in the face while he was down.
'The video cut off though after that obviously like any normal mates would do we've backed him up I tried staying out the way as I don't want the trouble a chair then got lobbed towards me so I picked the chair up and threw it back and it accidentally hit the woman who as you can see went down a bit easy but besides that I was very apologetic and I felt terrible.
'But I'd have felt even worse if we left my mate to get badly beaten up while he's trying to enjoy his holiday I hope this video opens peoples eyes I had to post it cause I've had nothing but abuse all morning and I'm sure this will clear it or so it should.'

Brit woman, 59, arrested after groping girl, 14, on Costa del Sol beach in ‘repugnant & intolerable' sexual assault
A BRIT woman has been arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl in a popular holiday spot. The shocking incident is alleged to have taken place earlier this month, but only came to light today. 2 2 The 59-year-old Brit is said to have approached the teenager on a Costa del Sol beach. She allegedly spoke to her in English to "gain her trust" before groping her. The youngster, who is an Italian national, rushed to a nearby shop to seek help where a relative was working. They subsequently called the police to report the incident. Cops held the Brit, who allegedly has a history of sexual offences, in the same area. The shocking incident happened at La Cala de Mijas near Fuengirola earlier in the month. While the arrest was made by local police, Civil Guard officers are the ones who took her to court. It is unclear today whether the Brit was a holidaymaker or an expat in Spain. In addition, it's also unknown if she has been remanded in custody pending an ongoing investigation or released on bail. Local councillor Juan Carlos Cuevas described her alleged behaviour as "repugnant and intolerable". First tourists visit North Korea's ghostly 'Benidorm' resort where 'minders' follow visitors & phones are 'bugged' He added that, even though she has not yet been charged with any crime, it "deserves the strongest condemnation". The councillor further said the co-operation of locals and the rapid intervention of local police helped secure the arrest. "This case shows that when we work together, we manage to halt very serious situations," he said. Earlier this month, a Brit assassin who Spanish police say was on the run was arrested in Costa del Sol. Pistols, ammunition and a silencer were found in his smashed-up Nissan Qashqai. The suspected hitman had a run-in with two women at a petrol station - after which he crashed his car. He reportedly began harassing two Dutch women after trying to get them to buy him cocaine. The suspect tried to flee as cops arrived at the scene. Sources told local paper Diario Sur that he ran out of the car "with visible injuries" before quickly being caught by police.

Spanish government investigates judge who charged PM's wife with corruption
The judge who charged Pedro Sánchez's wife with embezzlement of public funds is under investigation after complaints by a close ally of the socialist leader. Félix Bolaños, the Spanish justice minister, made two complaints against Judge Juan Carlos Peinado after he interrogated him in the case against Begoña Gómez, who is married to the Spanish prime minister. She is alleged to have used state funds to pay her assistant Cristina Álvarez, an employee of the prime minister's office, for help with personal matters, which she denies. Ms Álvarez has also been charged with the same crime in connection with Ms Gómez's academic post at Madrid's Complutense University, where she ran a course despite not having a degree. The prime minister has denounced the latest charges against his wife as Right-wing 'lawfare', designed to bring down his broad Leftist coalition government. Mr Bolaños, a Sánchez loyalist, was questioned as a witness in the case last April. He was the prime minister's secretary-general when Ms Álvarez was hired in 2018. The case has dominated the polarised world of Spanish politics for the past 16 months. The General Council of the Judiciary, which oversees the legal system in Spain, has opened a probe into Judge Peinado over allegations he distorted the minister's testimony. In a testy interrogation, the judge accused the minister of answering 'evasively' and told him: 'I don't know why you're smiling.' The Supreme Court later turned down the judge's request to open a case into the minister. The opening of an investigation into the judge is a first step which could lead to a case that could carry a sanction. In the latest blow against Mr Sánchez's embattled government, which is embroiled in a separate labyrinthe corruption scandal, Ms Gómez must testify in court in September on the embezzlement charges. Her case began in April last year with accusations of influence peddling and corruption in business. It has since mushroomed to include professional intrusion and misappropriation before the newest charge of embezzlement, which was reported on Tuesday. Shortly after the investigation was first revealed last year, Mr Sánchez withdrew from public life for five days of reflection over his future. He refused to speak to anyone except his family after criticising attacks by the Right-wing media on his wife before finally resolving to stay in office. Mr Sánchez has also faced claims that Socialist party (PSOE) officials created a job especially for his musician brother, David. The prime minister has been battling for his political survival since Santos Cerdán, his long-term ally and former party secretary, was arrested in June on charges of bribery, criminal conspiracy and influence peddling. A police report revealed his alleged involvement in charging companies for accessing public works contracts in his home region of Navarre and elsewhere. Mr Cerdán backed Mr Sánchez from party outsider to winner in two primary processes a decade ago, playing a key role in his ascent to power. Two other members of the prime minister's inner circle – Jose Luis Abalos, the former transport minister, and aide Koldo Garcia – have also been embroiled in the investigation. They deny any wrongdoing. There was further embarrassment for Mr Sánchez, who prides himself on his progressive and feminist policies, when secret recordings underpinning the investigation emerged. In them, former comrades of Mr Sánchez discuss the merits and evaluate different sex workers, which the prime minister said he found disgusting.

World Cup winner's contract terminated just THREE games into the season after clashes with fans who called him a 'wife beater'
A World Cup winner has had his contract terminated just three matches into the new season, calling an end to his turbulent 15-month spell at the football club. Jerome Boateng, who won the 2014 World Cup with Germany during his decade-long spell at Bayern Munich between 2011 and 2021, signed a two-year deal with top flight Austrian club LASK Linz on May 31 last year after becoming a free agent. But the 36-year-old defender's contract has now been terminated a year early by mutual consent after a torrid spell, with Boateng chalking up just 13 appearances for the club since the free transfer following a wealth of injury issues. Just months after his arrival in Austria, Boateng avoided jail time but was handed a suspended fine and a warning after a German court found him guilty of premeditated bodily harm against his ex-girlfriend. The mother of his twin daughters accused Boateng of hurling a lamp at her, which missed, during a fight they had on holiday in 2018 — and then of injuring her arm by throwing a small cool box at her and later hitting her and pulling her hair. Boateng was ordered to pay a total of just over £84,000 to charity organisations by the judge, a court spokesperson said in July 2024, while the suspended fine of just over £168,000 only had to be paid if he committed another offence. He was not charged with assault, coercion or defamation on the legal principle of 'in dubio pro reo', which dictates that a decision should favour the defendant in criminal cases if there is any ambiguity or doubt regarding their guilt. Despite avoiding jail time, Boateng's legal case led to LASK fans loudly booing and insulting the former Germany international with 'wife beater' chants back in March. Keen to pursue a fresh chapter elsewhere, Boateng said in a club statement on Wednesday: 'I would like to thank LASK for their trust and the time we spent together here in Linz. 'It was an enriching experience to work in a new environment once again. Now the time is right for me to open a new chapter. 'I will soon announce what new challenges — both sporting and personal — await me in the future.' Meanwhile, LASK sporting director Dino Buric added: 'Jerome has always behaved professionally throughout his time at LASK and has done everything he can to help the team with his experience. 'He has played an important role, especially for our young players, by providing them with excellent support and encouragement.'
