Pheobe Bishop's Mom Acknowledges 'Worst-Case Scenario' in Emotional Plea as Teen Remains Missing

Bishop disappeared after failing to check in for a flight at the Bundaberg Regional Airport in Queensland, AustraliaIt's been more than two weeks since 17-year-old Pheobe Bishop vanished, and her mom wants to know where she is — even if it's the "worst-case scenario."
In a new video released by the Queensland Police in Australia, Kylie Johnson got visibly emotional while reading an official family statement about the missing Australian teen, who disappeared after failing to check in for a flight earlier this month.
'Hi, I'm Kylie. I'm Pheobe's mom. Our lives have been changed for the worse after the sudden disappearance of our daughter, who was last seen on May 15,' she began in the video, which was posted on a crime watch Facebook group for the Queensland area on Saturday, May 31.
'This is a pain no person or family should ever have to experience,' she continued. 'Pheobe was a beautiful, loving, kind person, and every day not knowing where she has been is devastating for us.'
Johnson went on to echo investigators' previous pleas for information, stating, 'This is why we are appealing for any information that may help to bring Pheobe home to contact the police. Even the smallest bit of information may be all the police need to find Pheobe.'
After thanking police for their investigation and her community for its support, Johnson made a final, emotional plea, and publicly considered the chance that her daughter is no longer alive.
"I still hold hope that Pheobe will come home, but I have to consider the possibility that she also won't,' she said in the video. 'If the worst-case scenario has happened, I at least need to know where she is resting. I need to know where Pheobe is. My daughter wouldn't just disappear.'
'Someone knows something and as a mom, I am asking you to come forward with your information,' Johnson finished.
Bishop has not been seen or heard from since she was taken to Airport Drive at the Bundaberg Regional Airport in Queensland on May 15 at around 8:30 a.m. local time, according to Queensland Police.
Queensland Police Detective Acting Inspector Ryan Thompson previously said the teen was visiting somebody close to her, and that the people who dropped her off did not enter the terminal with her, per the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.
Prior to her disappearance, the teenager had been living in a property in the town of Gin Gin, which has since been declared a crime scene, according to police.
A gray Hyundai ix35 is also an active crime scene, with police previously asking the public for help finding dashcam and CCTV footage of the car, license plate number 414EW3, 'near the Airport Drive and Samuels Road area in Bundaberg and also the Gin Gin area on May 15.'

Amid the search for Bishop, Johnson has shared several posts about the situation on Facebook, most recently a message alongside the official police video of her addressing the public.
'Today is the hardest,' she wrote. 'It's cold and raining and to know that one of your children is out there and you have NO IDEA where! You have no answers, every day you're living in Limbo. We just need answers, someone has to have seen something or know something.'
'Pheobe would never do this, she would never not contact us,' Johnson added of the teen. 'I know my daughter, her siblings and her family are her world. Her [niece] is her everything and she would hate this media presence and her photos being posted everywhere.'

79 detained as more violence disrupts PSG's Champions League celebrations
PARIS (AP) — French authorities detained an additional 79 people as violence continued to disrupt PSG's celebrations of its historic Champions League title, the Paris police chief said on Monday. After more than 100,000 people welcomed the return of PSG players to the French capital following their 5-0 thrashing of Inter Milan in the Champions League final on Saturday, a second night of scattered incidents ensued. Laurent Nunez, the Paris police prefect, told RTL radio that groups of individuals gathered close to PSG stadium and on the Champs-Elysees avenue after midnight, causing trouble. Nunez said calm was restored at 3:30 a.m. on Monday. PSG had earlier put on an open-top bus parade in the city for its fans. The winners of European club soccer's biggest prize arrived in Paris on Sunday afternoon and headed to France's most famous avenue, the Champs-Élysées, which overnight Saturday saw acts of violence and clashes with riot police. Police had made more than 500 arrests across France on Saturday night. 'The overall number of arrests is very high, it is completely unprecedented,' Nunez said. Celebrations were largely peaceful but degenerated into violence in some areas. A 17-year-old boy was stabbed to death in the western city of Dax during a PSG street party after the final, the national police service said. Starmer promises funding will meet plan for ‘battle-ready, armour-clad' UK
The UK will move to 'war-fighting readiness', Sir Keir Starmer said as questions remained about his plans to increase defence spending. The Prime Minister said he was '100% confident' the plans in the new strategic defence review – including extra attack submarines, £15 billion on nuclear warheads and thousands of new long-range weapons – could be delivered on current funding plans. The Government will increase defence spending to 2.5% of gross domestic product from April 2027 with an ambition – but no firm commitment – to increase it to 3% during the next parliament. The Prime Minister said all parts of society needed to be involved in dealing with an increasingly dangerous world. He said the plan would create 'a battle-ready, armour-clad nation with the strongest alliances, and the most advanced capabilities, equipped for the decades to come'. Launching the review in the shadow of Type 26 frigates being built in BAE Systems' shipyard in Govan, Glasgow, Sir Keir said 'three fundamental changes' would be made to the UK's defence. 'First, we are moving to war-fighting readiness as the central purpose of our armed forces. 'When we are being directly threatened by states with advanced military forces, the most effective way to deter them is to be ready, and frankly, to show them that we're ready to deliver peace through strength.' The second change is that the Government will adopt a 'Nato-first' stance towards defence so that everything it does adds to the strength of the alliance. We're building up to a dozen new attack submarines as part of the AUKUS programme, in response to rapidly increasing threats.
