EXCLUSIVE Teddi Mellencamp and Edwin Arroyave make shock decision about their marriage amid heartbreaking stage 4 cancer battle

Daily Mail13-05-2025

Teddi Mellencamp and Edwin Arroyave are progressing with their divorce, three months after putting it on pause in the wake of her brain cancer diagnosis.
The former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, 43, filed for divorce from Arroyave, 48, in November, initially demanding primary legal and physical custody of their children.
But after doctors found multiple tumors on her brain in February, the estranged spouses put the brakes on their divorce, with Edwin rallying around her as she underwent surgeries.
Two months on and the couple is now ploughing ahead, as Teddi's 'illness is not enough to keep them together.'
'Their divorce was on hold as Edwin was taking care of Teddi,' a source close to the couple told DailyMail.com. 'She was staying with him and for the past several months. While Edwin is dedicated to continuing to help Teddi however he can in her recovery, they have decided that her illness is not enough to keep them together and are going to progress with their divorce.
'Their marriage is over and they want to put an end to this and finalize it amicably and with much respect.'
On May 8, Edwin informed the court that he has exchanged preliminary financial information with the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star.
Per the filing, he has produced his current income and expense declarations, a list of his assets and debts and a list of what he believes is community property, along with a list of his separate property.
The filing was a response to Teddi's declaration of disclosure and income/expense request in February.
Teddi announced their split via Instagram, hours after filing for divorce on November 1, with the pair soon feuding over spousal support and custody of their three children Slate, 12, Cruz, 10, and Dove, four.
'After a great deal of care and consideration I have made the difficult decision to file for divorce,' she wrote. 'My priority is my children and ensuring that every care is taken with their privacy and wellbeing throughout this new chapter.
'Making a public statement is not something I wanted to do but in an effort to protect my family from undue speculation and rumors, I felt being open, honest and vulnerable was the best path forward.'
A contentious battle was on the cards with the pair failing to agree on a date of separation – Teddi listed October 20 while Edwin stated November 1 – and on custody.
Teddi requested sole physical and legal custody, asking the judge to grant Edwin 'reasonable and frequent' visitation. This was later amended to joint physical and legal custody.
Edwin was pictured at Teddi's bedside, posing with his wife in the hours before she underwent surgery to remove two tumors back in February.
He has since been present throughout her multiple procedures which came two years after she was diagnosed with stage two melanoma.
She previously shared a pictured of the large, zig-zag scar across her back and shoulder from surgery in December 2023 to remove the deadly skin cancer which kills nearly 10,000 people per year.
Last month she shared an incredible health update with fans, as she revealed that her tumors — which metastasized to her brain and lungs — have significantly shrunk, and doctors believe she is a few weeks away from being cancer free.
'I just finished with all of my scans, and my tumors have significantly shrunk, which doctors believe means that this all will work, and that I will be back to myself, and feeling good,' she shared in a video posted to her Instagram.
Teddi — who previously revealed she was given a 'fifty-fifty' chance of survival — said that she has two more sessions of immunotherapy, adding, 'and then hopefully I am done, and I will be cancer free.'

I wed a Nigerian toyboy 43 years my junior – people think I'm ‘crazy', call me his ‘grandma' & say he's with me for cash

A 68-YEAR-OLD woman has revealed that she said 'I Do' with her Nigerian toyboy, who is 43 years her junior. When Kay, 68, and Ablack, 25, first connected on Facebook, they had no idea that a simple social media like would lead to marriage. 4 4 4 4 But now, the couple have opened up on their unique relationship and explained how just three days after meeting in real life, Kay's toyboy popped the question. Revealing all to Truly, on an episode of Love Don't Judge, the couple admitted that they are constantly stared at in the street and Kay has even been accused of being Ablack's ' grandma '. Opening up about how their relationship first blossomed, Kay recognised: "He liked something I posted. He went from somebody who liked my post to my very best friend, I could tell him everything. It just kept getting stronger and stronger." After three failed marriages, Kay was initially 'very leery about being scammed ' by the youngster. Not only was the mother called 'crazy' by many, but before long, the couple had tied the knot, with Ablack being Kay's fourth husband. Despite falling in love, the couple constantly face judgement over their age gap, with Kay being 43 years older than Ablack. But Kay beamed: 'I do not feel old when I'm around him. I feel very young, like a teenager.' With Ablack based in Nigeria and Kay over in the US, the pair have had to make the relationship work with the geographical distance. However, Ablack knows that the pair are destined to be, as he acknowledged: "A prophet told me that I'm going to get married to a white woman and here she is.' But although destiny brought them together, not everyone agrees with their relationship, as Ablack said, "Some people say, 'she's old enough to be your mum '. Some say, 'you're married to your grandma', 'she's too old for you'. I'm 20 and my man is 63 - people say he looks like Shrek and I must be in it for the money, but I'd still love him if he was a cleaner 'Anywhere we go, people take pictures of us.' Not only this, but people have even accused Ablack of getting 'married for a US green card '. Clearly unfazed by the judgement, Kay, who is often referred to as Ablack's 'sugar mummy', said: "I've never felt love like this before. "This is the one I'm supposed to be with, I just had to wait a long time for him to be born. 'He treats me like a Queen. I'm his priority.' Rod Stewart cancels US tour dates with Glastonbury legends slot weeks away

Sir Rod Stewart has cancelled a run of concerts in the US after having the flu, just weeks before his appearance at the Glastonbury festival later this month. The 80-year-old singer said he was 'devastated' to cancel or reschedule six shows in the US, due to take place over the next eight days. The dates are part of what Stewart has described as his last 'large-scale world tour'. Stewart is due to play the coveted 'legends' slot at the Pyramid stage at Glastonbury on Sunday 29 June. He last appeared at the festival when he headlined in 2002. In a post on Instagram in the early hours of Saturday, he posted: 'I have to cancel and reschedule my next six concerts in June as I continue to recover from the flu. 'So sorry my friends. I'm devastated and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience to my fans. I'll be back on stage and will see you soon.' Earlier this week, Stewart said he couldn't perform at two concerts, including one at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, due to the viral illness. His latest announcement includes three gigs at the venue being called off, including one that was rescheduled after a cancelled show from Monday. Two dates in California have been moved to mid-September. Stewart has had a few health setbacks this year. Cannot talk. Having vocal rest.' Stewart recently announced his appearance at Glastonbury would be alongside his former Faces bandmate Ronnie Wood, who is better known for his part in the Rolling Stones. He told That Peter Crouch Podcast he was only due to play for an hour and 15 minutes. He said: 'But I've asked them: 'Please, another 15 minutes,' because I play for over two hours every night and it's nothing.'
