ATEEZ's Europe Concerts Set New K-Pop Records, Dominate Boxscores

Forbes29-03-2025

In a triumphant display of ATEEZ's global appeal and live-performance prowess, the eight-member boy band has shown the impact of the European leg of their Towards the Light: Will to Power world tour on this year's live-music landscape to selling over 180,000 tickets through the 14-date stretch.
In the February 2025 Boxscore Report from Billboard, the powerhouse KQ Entertainment boy band emerged as the only K-pop act to rank among the chart's Top 30 tours. With just eight shows reported, ATEEZ grossed an impressive $17.9 million and drew 117,000 concertgoers to earn the band the sixth largest tours of the last month.
In particular, the performance at La Défense Arena in Paris, France, set a historic milestone. As the first K-pop group to headline in Europe's largest arena, the chart-toppers set a new standard in the scene while wowing French fans. Billboard reports that the Paris show alone grossed $4.3 million with 29,200 fans in attendance, ranking as February's 20th biggest tour boxscore.
Equally impressive were their shows in Berlin, Germany at Uber Arena. Over two nights, the band pulled in a combined gross of $4 million from 24,500 attendees, marking the Berlin dates as the 25th largest boxscore for the month, per Billboard Boxscore.
AEG Presents acted as promoter for the massive shows.
Earlier this month, KQ Entertainment and AEG announced a strategic, multi-year partnership to oversee the production of all ATEEZ tours worldwide while expanding promotional opportunities. In the announcement, a press release noted that the critically acclaimed stars drew over 200,000 attendees in the 2024 North American leg of the Towards the Light: Will to Power world tour, sold over 180,000 tickets across Europe, and held the first-ever K-pop concerts at large venues like Zurich, Sweden's Hallenstadion arena and the LDLC Arena in Lyon, France.
AEG Presents even clinched the No. 1 spot on Billboard's Top Promoter chart for February 2025, no doubt in large part thanks to the drawing power of ATEEZ's shows as well as major tours from other partners like Tyler, the Creator, and Ed Sheeran.
Moreover, ATEEZ's momentum extended to Pollstar's LIVE75 chart, which ranks active tours worldwide by the average number of tickets sold for shows performed over the last 30 days. The band maintained a strong presence over two consecutive weeks in February.
For the week of February 17, 2025, ATEEZ sold an average of 10,138 tickets — ranking alongside global heavyweights like the Eagles, Andrea Bocelli, and Justin Timberlake. The following week, they upped the ante with an average of 11,142 tickets sold, even surpassing Timberlake's average ticket sales for the week.
As ATEEZ expands the boundaries of K-pop with their must-see live shows, the guys simultaneously bolster an increasingly lively live market for Korean artists in Europe.
As noted on Korea.net's recent feature K-Pop concerts in Europe: a promising future despite challenges in the past, ATEEZ and peers like Taemin, Tomorrow X Together, P1Harmony, and Kiss of Life are making this year one for the record books. Even with the continent's history of bad luck with canceled or postponed shows and festivals that ultimately came off more like scams than professional productions, hefty and successful tours like ATEEZ's recent European leg signal a promising trajectory for the future.

Michael Jordan Watches A Street Performer In Portugal But Refuses To Take A Picture Because Of The Adidas Shirt

Michael Jordan Watches A Street Performer In Portugal But Refuses To Take A Picture Because Of The Adidas Shirt originally appeared on Fadeaway World. Michael Jordan is a global icon, a six-time NBA champion, and the face of one of the most successful sports branding empires in history. But in Portugal this week, His Airness once again reminded the world just how seriously he takes that legacy not just on the court, but off it, down to the logos in his presence. While vacationing in Portugal with his wife, Yvette Prieto, Jordan was seen enjoying a street performance by local musician Lucas Pina. The moment, captured on video and posted to social media, shows Jordan vibing to Pina's soulful guitar and vocals while dining outdoors in Lisbon. MJ appeared relaxed, cigar in hand, smiling, nodding, and fully immersed in the music. For Pina, it was the performance of a lifetime: serenading the greatest basketball player ever. And then came the twist. A fan cheekily commented under the video: 'You're wearing Adidas, Jordan wouldn't f**k with you.' To everyone's surprise, Pina replied, 'Yes, that's why he couldn't take a picture with me that day.' While brief, that one-liner sparked a storm of online commentary. Was he joking, or did Michael Jordan really snub a photo-op because of a rival brand? Given Jordan's brand loyalty history, it wouldn't be shocking. As the cornerstone of Nike's $6 billion Jordan Brand, Michael has spent decades curating his image. Being photographed next to a street artist in Adidas, no matter how talented, could dilute that image or, worse, invite speculation about his own allegiance. In the world of branding and optics, even innocent photos can snowball into misinterpretations. And Jordan, a master of legacy control, has always been cautious about association. This incident in Portugal isn't an isolated moment. Jordan is known for being meticulous about how and where he is photographed, especially when it involves rival apparel. He's even gone so far as to cover other brands' logos with tape during public appearances. It's not personal, it's professional. And it's deeply tied to a billion-dollar empire. What makes the Adidas irony richer is that Jordan didn't even want to sign with Nike initially. He even begged Adidas to match Nike's offer in 1984, which they declined. The rest, of course, is sneaker history. Europe, meanwhile, continues to be a favorite destination for MJ. He's spent summers across the continent, dancing in Capri with his wife Yvette, partying in Milan, and even being spotted dining with Magic Johnson during one of his luxury getaways. Jordan has a deep affection for Italy in particular. In a now-viral story from 2022, a Milan cigar shop manager described being stunned when the basketball legend casually strolled in and asked for recommendations. Jordan was in town looking for the finest cigars to enjoy during his stay, adding another iconic stop to his long list of European adventures. He was also seen on a boat ride in Lake Como with George Clooney that same summer and cruised along the Croatian coast in 2021 aboard a $1.2 million-per-week yacht. But His Airness isn't staying retired from the game entirely. For the upcoming 2025–26 NBA season, Jordan is set to return in an official capacity as the league's special contributor. The role, created as part of the NBA's new media expansion, will see MJ help promote the global growth of basketball and connect newer generations to the game's history. Sources say he'll feature in broadcast specials, international tours, and legacy campaigns that highlight today's stars, players like LeBron James and Stephen Curry, whom Jordan himself believes deserve more respect from older fans. While he may not be donning a jersey again, MJ's return signifies a powerful union between past greatness and the league's future. Still, the moment with Lucas Pina wasn't entirely lost. Jordan may not have posed for a photo, but he did what mattered more in the moment: he listened, appreciated, and vibed to an artist pouring his heart out through music. And that, in itself, is its own kind of endorsement, just not one with three stripes in the story was originally reported by Fadeaway World on Jun 5, 2025, where it first appeared.

Sneaky French Goose Makes Off With McDonald's Meal Like It's the Ultimate Prize

Sneaky French Goose Makes Off With McDonald's Meal Like It's the Ultimate Prize originally appeared on PetHelpful. Whether they care to admit it or not, just about everyone loves fast food. So, is it really any surprise that this is also true of our animal counterparts? Not really. And even in a place like France, which is renowned for its world-class fine dining culture, people, and as you will see in this video, animals, are not above enjoying the simple pleasures of a meal from American fast food titan McDonald's. However, we think that the French goose in this video more than just 'enjoys' McDonald's. Otherwise, why would he bother to steal someone's McDonald's meal and then try to get away with it like he just stole a Mega Millions winning lotto ticket? As this bizarre, and quite frankly, hilarious video shows, McDonald's is hard to resist. Deep in the suburbs of northern Paris, a man, Calvin Moreau, was just trying to enjoy his happy meal when he started recording a goose waddling towards him to seemingly investigate what was in his McDonald's to this video's comments section, Mr. Moreau attempted to talk to the bird in French as he grew suspicious that the bird had nefarious intentions regarding the contents of his McDonald's bag. According to the video, Mr. Moreau told the thieving bird, 'Stop that. Just because you're bigger doesn't mean you're smarter!' The next thing the Frenchmen knew, the bird had taken off with the paper McDonald's bag wrapped around their neck. This video had many people wondering: Can birds eat French fries? It's a good question. After all, these salty, delicious snacks are a favorite of many people all over the world. And a lot of people do enjoy feeding birds. So, why not give them French fries? Obviously, it's easy to give a bird a French fry, and it's just as easy for them to scarf it down. But is it actually good for them? The truth is, yes and no. French fries are not toxic to birds per se because they are mainly composed of carbohydrates and do contain some vitamins and minerals. However, French fries, especially McDonald's French fries, contain a lot of sodium and preservatives, which are detrimental to many animals', including birds, digestive systems. As such, if you see a bird approaching your bag of McDonald's, you should keep it away from them at all costs. Looking for more PetHelpful updates? Follow us on YouTube for more entertaining videos. Netflix, Martha Stewart, T.O.P And Lil Yachty Welcome You To The K-Era

Lil Yachty, Martha Stewart and T.O.P appear in Netflix's new K-content campaign. Let's face it—a collaboration between lifestyle mogul Martha Stewart and South Korean rapper and actor T.O.P was something no one saw coming, but that's precisely what happened when Netflix revealed its latest ad for Korean content. The two-minute video on Netflix's YouTube channel also features American rapper Lil Yachty, himself a longtime K-culture fan who famously paid tribute to the iconic K-pop boy band BIGBANG (of which T.O.P is a former member) in 2016 by freestyling to their songs. (And seeing as how T.O.P is clearly his favorite BIGBANG member based on that clip, it was probably only a matter of time before he and the real T.O.P found themselves in the same video.) In Netflix's promotional clip, Stewart is caught crying while watching the hit K-drama When Life Gives You Tangerines. When told that she doesn't speak Korean, Stewart responds, 'I don't, it speaks to me.' Stewart is later seen actively engaging with and taking cues from other blockbuster Korean shows like Squid Game, All of Us Are Dead and Physical: 100. She also chats with Lil Yachty about Single's Inferno while wearing a snail mucin sheet mask on her face—one of (many) items popularized by the ever-growing K-beauty trend. T.O.P (real name Choi Seung-hyun), who plays Thanos in Squid Game season 2, appears in Stewart's dressing room in the latter half of the video and flashes her the classic Korean 'finger heart' sign. At this point, the camera cuts to a barrage of additional K-culture references found throughout the room, from the song 'Like Jennie' by BLACKPINK member Jennie blasting from a speaker to a tray filled with Korean snacks and beverages to Stewart wearing an Extraordinary Attorney Woo T-shirt. 'I've seen this before… You're in deep on K-content. Don't worry, she'll be fine,' T.O.P remarks, at least according to the English subtitles. (A more literal translation of what he actually says would be something like: 'Oh, I see you're hooked on not only K-content but Korean culture as well. Don't worry, that happens to everyone.') He then makes his exit with the now-iconic 'Skrrt!'—which all three stars repeat at the very end while dressed in Squid Game tracksuits. Social media reactions to the unexpected collab have been overwhelmingly enthusiastic, with many users praising Netflix for the surprise video and gushing over T.O.P's appearance in the clip. Some of the user comments on the "Welcome to Your K-Era" video on Netflix's YouTube channel More user comments on Netflix's new K-content promotional video Commenter on YouTube references the 2016 BIGBANG tribute video in which Lil Yachty raps and talks to ... More cardboard cutouts of BIGBANG members. Screenshot of a post on X Netflix's slogan for its 'Welcome to Your K-Era' campaign is 'You Don't Have to Speak It to Love It' (for anyone who's interested, a more literal translation of the Korean phrase would be: 'Even if you don't know the language, you know the feeling!'), acknowledging the power of K-content to resonate with audiences across the globe despite the language barrier. That said, as an aside, it should be noted that the Korean language is also experiencing a worldwide boom these days. For instance, a recent study by the Modern Language Association found that out of the 15 most commonly taught foreign languages at U.S. colleges and universities, Korean was the only language to show remarkable growth between 2016 and 2021—a whopping 38.3% increase in enrollment over that five-year period. Biblical Hebrew and American Sign Language were the only other languages that showed increased enrollment—9.1% and 0.8% respectively—while all other foreign languages showed a marked decline in enrollment over that time period. To feed your K-content obsession—and perhaps help you improve your Korean listening comprehension skills—Netflix now has a 'Welcome to Your K-Era' panel on its interface, which serves as a one-stop shop to find all your favorite Korean films and shows on Netflix. (Tip for those new to Korean movies and shows: ALWAYS watch them subbed, NEVER dubbed!) Residents of Los Angeles, California might have also seen these Netflix billboards along Sunset Boulevard featuring Korean-only captions, often superimposed on ads for popular Netflix Korean shows: Billboard in LA with Netflix's new K-content slogan "You Don't Have to Speak It to Love It" written ... Below is a still frame for the K-zombie thriller All of Us Are Dead: Netflix digital billboard in Times Square for 'All of Us Are Dead.' The Korean words read, "Now our ... More school is in the middle of a survival class." Netflix's K-content promotional campaign comes on the heels of its global fan event Tudum, which featured many K-culture moments both during and in the lead-up to the live event held in Los Angeles on Saturday, May 31st. That weekend, Tudum coincided with other events in Los Angeles that celebrated K-culture, including an epic sold-out concert by K-pop boy band Stray Kids (whose global fanbase is predominantly non-Korean), a concert by Korean singing legend Baek Ji-young, and 88rising's annual Head in the Clouds music festival, which saw many K-indie and K-pop artists take the stage at the Rose Bowl, including BIGBANG's leader G-Dragon (dubbed by many fans as the 'King of K-pop') and iconic K-pop girl group 2NE1. As I've mentioned before, it's a K-content world, and we're all just living in it. And Netflix is one of the players leading the Korean Wave, known as 'Hallyu" (한류) in Korean.
