It's a known fact to CRAVITY (크래비티) fans that member Taeyoung (태영) once lived in Malaysia, spending four years of his childhood here. Last week, the idol returned to Kuala Lumpur for the first time since debuting, prompting a trip down memory lane. The singer was recently in town for the 'K-Pop Masterz 2025 in Kuala Lumpur' concert with his fellow CRAVITY members and fellow idol group ATEEZ (에이티즈). This concert marked both groups' first time performing in Malaysia since their debut. As Taeyoung spent his childhood here, the concert sparked excitement amongst local LUVITYs (CRAVITY fans), who even trended 'Taeyoung Balik Kampung' on social media for his 'homecoming'. Before the concert on 31st May (Saturday), Taeyoung went sightseeing in downtown KL. Through the fan messaging app Bubble, the 22-year-old shared about his visit to a local convenience store, where he came across some of his favourite snacks. The idol excitedly shared his childhood snacks, which included Koko Krunch and Honey Stars cereals, Wall's Paddle Pop Rainbow ice cream and Vitagen cultured milk drink. Taeyoung also revealed that he ate roti kaya during the trip, which he had been looking forward to. The idol is quite fond of the dish and once spoke about it in an interview. In another post on Bubble, Taeyoung shared his thoughts about returning to Malaysia after a long time. Surprisingly, the singer said the country felt like his hometown despite him only spending a few years of his childhood here. Taeyoung also showed his love for Malaysia through a video he posted on CRAVITY's official social media, which depicts him dancing in his hotel room. The idol wrote in the captions, 'When you finally came back to Malaysia', showing how excited he was to be back here. Local fans have reacted to Taeyoung's recent social postings, mostly expressing excitement about how fond the star is of Malaysia and how he seemed so happy to return. Concert Review: K-POP Masterz 2025 Brings ATEEZ & Cravity To Malaysia For The First Time
On the last day of May, KPOP Masterz 2025 brought two beloved bands to Malaysia for the first time, and the result was nothing short of spectacular. Held in Kuala Lumpur, the concert featured powerhouse performers ATEEZ (에이티즈) and rising stars CRAVITY (에이티즈). As the lights dimmed and the opening beats dropped, the atmosphere surged with excitement, setting the stage for a night filled with energy, emotion, and world-class performances. Taking place on 31st May (Saturday), the performance was held at the Mines International Exhibition & Convention Centre (MIECC). Kicking off the night, CRAVITY opened with their electrifying track 'VENI VIDI VICI', instantly igniting the crowd. The venue erupted with cheers and a wave of glowing lightsticks, creating an unforgettable scene that set the tone for the rest of the evening. CRAVITY The moment the lights went out, the venue burst into cheers as fans eagerly waited to see which band would appear first. Blue LEDs swept across the arena, and when CRAVITY's name lit up the screen, the energy soared. One by one, the members were introduced on screen before jumping straight into their hit song 'VENI VIDI VICI', kicking things off with sharp choreography that grabbed everyone's attention. Without missing a beat, CRAVITY transitioned into 'Love or Die'. The audience roared even louder, waving their lightsticks in rhythm with the music. The stunning lights and immersive atmosphere blended seamlessly with the sound, leaving us in awe throughout the entire performance. Even while executing intricate choreography, the members showcased breathtaking vocals, proving their talent and professionalism on every level. After the first two performances, MC Hani Fazdil took the stage to officially introduce the evening's hosts. Each CRAVITY member reintroduced themselves, expressing their surprise at how loud the fans had been, even before the group appeared, proving just how strong Malaysia's love for them truly is. The members then walked to the centre stage, smiling and waving to the audience all around. Before diving into the night's interactive segment, they reignited the crowd's energy with another fan favourite, 'Adrenaline'. To keep the momentum going, the organisers introduced a few games for the members to play. The group entertained the audience while competing in lighthearted challenges. As a playful punishment, three losing members walked down the centre stage, drawing cheers and laughter from the crowd. CRAVITY then wrapped up their set with strong performances of 'My Turn', 'C'est La Vie', and 'Now or Never'. They closed the night with their explosive track 'Break All the Rules', after wishing everyone a warm and joyful 'Happy Raya Holiday.' ATEEZ With the first hour flying by, you might expect the audience to start cooling down, but that was far from the case. The moment bold red LEDs lit up the hall and ATEEZ's name appeared on the screen, the venue erupted in deafening cheers and screams. They kicked off their set with 'Guerrilla', accompanied by flashing red lights and an explosive atmosphere. Fans immediately sang along, echoing the lyrics while the group delivered sharp, synchronised choreography. The performance shook the entire venue with its powerful beats. ATINYs responded with full force, their voices rising to match the energy of the performance. ATEEZ showcased their vocal range and stage presence, flawlessly balancing intense choreography with soaring vocals. After formally introducing themselves to the crowd, they launched into 'Say My Name'. With every beat drop, fans screamed their biases' names, filling the room with unrelenting passion and love. Next up was the fan-favourite track, 'The Real', and the energy in the venue instantly skyrocketed. Each time the beat dropped, confetti burst from the stage, adding to the explosive atmosphere. Near the end of the performance, ATEEZ member Wooyoung (우영) broke into an impressive dance solo, drawing loud cheers from the crowd. Following the high-energy performance, the group took a brief break for a fun Q&A session, offering fans a more personal moment. They then moved to the centre stage and kept the momentum going with powerful performances of 'Ice on My Teeth' and 'Desire'. Afterwards, they engaged in short games with the audience, deepening their connection with ATINYs and expressing their gratitude. As the night drew to a close, the members began their heartfelt farewells. To show their love, they performed 'Turbulence' as purple confetti floated through the air, creating a warm and emotional atmosphere. Finally, ATEEZ ended the night on a high with two explosive closing songs: 'Work' and 'Bouncy'. This event marked the first time either band had performed in Malaysia. The end of May is truly an exciting time for K-pop fans. Earlier this year, it was announced that EXO leader Suho, and K-pop boy groups CRAVITY and TREASURE, will be making their appearances in Kuala Lumpur on Friday (30th May) and Saturday (31 May) respectively. It now appears that the idols have safely arrived in Malaysia, with fans gathering at Kuala Lumpur International Airport to give them a warm welcome. Here's what went down: Let's start with EXO's Suho. The singer safely landed at KLIA last night (Thursday, 29th May), where he was greeted by excited fans who had been eagerly awaiting his arrival for hours. The 34-year-old was seen waving to supporters while being escorted by security personnel to a buggy, which transported him to his vehicle. Suho is set to take the stage later tonight at Mega Star Arena for his 'Meet Your SUperstar' Falcon x SUHO Special Performance concert. This also marks his third SOLO return to Malaysia after performing here twice last year. On the same day, TREASURE members Park Jeongwoo, Doyoung, Choi Hyunsuk and Haruto were also spotted at the airport. The boys will be making a special appearance later today for the Brice With TREASURE event at Sunway Pyramid. Early this morning, just before dawn, fans who had gathered at the airport since the wee hours spotted the members of CRAVITY shortly after they disembarked from their flight. The boys were seen cheerfully waving to fans from the upper levels of the terminal as they made their way through the airport to their vehicle. For those who may not be aware, member Taeyoung previously lived in Malaysia for 4 years, making this visit something of a homecoming for the vocalist. The idol group is set to share the stage with ATEEZ for the 2025 KPop Masterz In Kuala Lumpur With ATEEZ And CRAVITY concert happening tomorrow. At the time of writing, there's no information on when ATEEZ themselves will arrive in KL, but we can assume that their flight will be later today. Namjoon reacts after scripting history at AMAs, talks about BTS' military discharge; fans react
BTS leader Kim Namjoon, aka RM, scripted history as he won in the Favourite K-pop artist category at the 2025 American Music Awards (AMAs). Taking to his Instagram Stories, Namjoon reacted to his win. However, he couldn't be part of the event as he is currently serving in the South Korean military. Namjoon won the award after being nominated alongside BLACKPINK's Rose, ATEEZ, BTS' Jimin, and Stray Kids. The official Instagram page of BTS shared a post announcing Namjoon's win. It read, "Thank you for your love and support, #BTSARMY (purple heart emoji)." Re-sharing the post, Namjoon wrote, "Thank you @amaz #ARMY (kissing face emoji)." Namjoon also shared an article by Yonhap News talking about BTS' military discharge in June. Re-posting it, he wrote, "It will be soon, seriously, soon." Reacting to Namjoon's win, fans posted comments on Reddit. A person wrote, "Yaaaaayyyy!!! Congratulations RM! BTS Leader win the first AMA Kpop award. Let's go!!! Plus RPWP was a masterpiece!"
