Abi and Carl's affair exposed in Coronation Street amid reckless display

Abi and Carl's affair exposed in Coronation Street amid reckless display

Metro8 hours ago
Abi Webster (Sally Carman) and brother in law Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard) have been playing with fire in Coronation Street as they've starting meeting up for passionate encounters. In a tight-knit place like Weatherfield where the net curtains are forever twitching, it's only a matter of time before somebody works out what's going on.
And the person who discovers the illicit affair is probably the worst person possible apart from Kevin (Michael Le Vell). It's Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford), who is the human embodiment of the phrase 'loose cannon.'
Tracy, of course, is a bit partial to Carl herself and has taken every opportunity to flirt with him. She's at it again in an upcoming episode and Carl is flirting back – partly to cover for the fact that he really only has eyes for Abi.
Even so, Abi is cross when he lets slip his room number at the Chariot Square Hotel to Tracy, but Carl appeases her and they arrange to meet up later at the hotel.
When Carl gets to his room later, anticipating meeting Abi, he's pleased to find she's already there and is in the shower. But as the bathroom door opens there's a shock. It's Tracy.
Carl later reports back to Abi that Tracy turned up at the hotel and that he rejected her advances. But did he? Abi's not sure and she's not best pleased.
With Debbie (Sue Devaney) encouraging Tracy to try again with Carl, there's still tension between Carl and Abi. He tells her that as long as she's still sleeping with Kevin there's no reason why he shouldn't sleep with Tracy.
Abi's supposed to be going on holiday with Kevin, but she tells him she can't find her passport and urges him to go on ahead of her and she'll join him when she's sorted the passport situation out.
Meanwhile Tracy is once again at the hotel with Carl, but this time he tells her he's in love with someone else. He's shocked when she immediately correctly guesses who the someone else is. How is he going to talk his way out of that?
The following night Abi and Carl take advantage of Kevin and Jack (Kyran Bowes) being away and Carl stays the night at number 13. Abi dashes out to buy some lager because it's thirsty work, and Tracy sees her. More Trending
Meanwhile, Debbie has let herself into number 13 to do a spot of cleaning as she believes the house is empty with the family away on holiday. She takes a dizzy turn and collapses, and Carl – who's been hiding upstairs – rushes down to look after his sister.

When Abi gets home she calls and ambulance and Ronnie (Vinta Morgan), while Carl goes back upstairs to hide again.
When the drama is over, Debbie has been safely attended to and they have the house to themselves again, Carl comes downstairs and he and Abi embrace and passionately kiss.

But they're not entirely alone. Tracy is watching through the kitchen window, her suspicions now confirmed. But what will she do with the information?

Emmerdale star quits ITV show ahead of explosive scenes

Oliver Farnworth, who plays the role of the mysterious serial killer John Sugden, will be leaving the ITV soap in explosive scenes very soon. A post shared by Emmerdale (@emmerdale) An Emmerdale source said: 'It's the beginning of the end for John. He's got away with so much, but he's about to make a fatal mistake that sees him exposed for what he is." According to The Sun, they added: 'Obviously, Oliver knew that a character like John had a shelf life and that's rapidly approaching. 'He's loved his time on the show, but there's still plenty of twists and turns coming before he departs for good.' This comes after it was revealed that Mackenzie Boyd would be murdered by John in upcoming scenes. A source with the ITV show said at the time: 'The scenes are going to be really harrowing for fans to watch. 'Mackenzie has been in so many scrapes and dangerous positions, but this time it looks like he's bitten off more than he can chew. 'Viewers will be on the edges of their seats watching what happens.' The scenes, which are meant to air later this year, will take place after Mackenzie discovers the truth about John. Actor Lawrence Robb has already filmed the final scenes for his character. The insider added: 'There are huge twists and turns coming throughout this storyline, and it's going to run for months and months. 'Nothing can be ruled out - bosses are really going for it and doing everything they can to keep the audience on their toes.' According to IMDb, Oliver Farnworth is an English actor born in Yorkshire on August 5, 1982. He is best known for playing the role of deranged killer John Sugden on the ITV soap opera Emmerdale, but he has also starred in a number of other programmes. These include the roles of Florian Dupont in Mr Selfridge as well as credits on films like The Girl on the Train and Beautiful Thing. Emmerdale fan-favourite left devastated as he's attacked in early ITVX scenes

The following article contains spoilers from an episode of Emmerdale that hasn't aired on ITV1 yet, but can be viewed on ITVX. Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson) has been left utterly broken after being attacked in Emmerdale. We know that Vinny has been feeling overwhelmed and confused ever since he tried to kiss his friend Kammy Hadiq (Shebz Miah). Because he's currently engaged to Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) and hasn't previously expressed thoughts that he might not be straight, Vinny has been trying to ignore his feelings. As far as he was concerned, if he never addressed what was on his mind, it would eventually go away. But it hasn't. Following a chat with Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) about the benefits of support groups, Vinny found an LGBTQI+ one online. He ended up messaging a man called Mike, and even met up with him a couple of times. Vinny was comfortable around Mike, because he was led to believe they were both in similar boats. Sadly though, Mike's true side was revealed in this evening's episode – and his aim was not to help Vinny come to terms with his sexuality. At Vinny's house, Mike started to suggest that Vinny fancies him. He denied this and was confused, but Mike reckoned that Vinny had invited him over because he wanted them to sleep together. It was at this point Vinny started to realise that the man he had told some very private thoughts to was a completely different person in reality. He tried to run out of the house in fear, but Mike stopped him from leaving. The next time we saw Vinny he was getting brutally attacked by Mike. He was laying on the floor in tears, curled up and shaking, a shell of the man we've grown to love. Mike wanted money from Vinny, but he also spied the wedding rings on the side and was very interested in them. While this was happening, Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) was just finishing a meeting with Charles Anderson (Kevin Mathurin) about the wedding, but realised her phone was still in the house. She stood at the front door knocking for Vinny because it was locked, but he never came. Gabby got distracted in the end because Charles found the device, meaning she was completely oblivious as to what was going on. As the episode drew to a close, Vinny looked at himself in the mirror as he tried to come to terms with what had just happened. We then flashbacked to a few years ago, when Vinny's biological father Paul (Reece Dinsdale) would physically abuse him if he tried to stand up to his dad. Vinny stood in the house all alone in tears. Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers? Who's leaving Coronation Street? The latest gossip from Emmerdale? Given the state of the house, Gabby will discover what happened to some extent, but whether Vinny says what really happened remains to be seen.
