United Spirits shares jump 3% as Citi maintains ‘Buy' rating with target price of Rs 1,800

Shares of United Spirits Ltd (USL) jumped 3% after Citi reaffirmed its Buy rating on the stock with a target price of ₹1,800. As of 10:43 AM, the shares were trading 2.87% higher at Rs 1,629.50.
Citi's report acknowledged that the near-term demand environment remains challenging due to ongoing market uncertainties. However, the brokerage expects premiumization trends to bounce back over the next two to three quarters, driven by shifting consumer preferences towards higher-end products.
As per Citi's report, a significant boost is anticipated from the India-UK Free Trade Agreement, which the management believes will enhance export opportunities and support premiumization in key markets. This trade deal is seen as a catalyst for expanding United Spirits' international footprint and strengthening its brand presence abroad.
On the regulatory front, Citi noted improvements in the policy environment that could benefit the overall alcoholic beverages sector. A more favorable regulatory framework is expected to create a supportive medium-term outlook, encouraging investment and growth in the industry.
Despite the evolving demand conditions, United Spirits is committed to maintaining its EBITDA margins at current levels for the next two to three years. This focus on margin stability underscores the company's efforts to optimize costs and enhance operational efficiency.

Citi Maintains Sell Rating on Enphase (ENPH), Lowers Price Target to $43
On June 5, analysts at Citi reiterated a 'Sell' rating on Enphase Energy, Inc. (NASDAQ:ENPH) but cut their price target to $43 from $47. The price adjustments follow mounting concerns about the future of the US residential solar market. Wind turbines against a backdrop of the sky, signifying the power of renewable energy. The analysts have raised concerns that the leading supplier of home energy solutions could come under pressure should there be changes in residential solar pricing. The Inflation Reduction Act is undergoing some changes. Proposed legislative changes include terminating 25D credits that could affect Enphase and other companies. The Citi analysts have warned that if the bill were to pass in its current form, solar installations could decline. The declines could hit highs of 75%, leading to business closures and slower innovation due to a reduced research and development budget. Assuming no changes are made to avert the slowdown, Citi analysts warn that Enphase Energy's EBITDA could decline by up to 60% next year. Likewise, the stock might end up trading in the high teens. Enphase Energy is an energy technology company specializing in designing, developing, manufacturing, and selling home energy solutions. It offers an intelligent platform that connects solar generation, energy storage, and management. Lammy seeks to ‘deepen' UK-India ties on New Delhi visit
David Lammy will seek to deepen UK-India economic ties as he visits New Delhi this weekend, saying Britain's recently agreed trade deal with the country is 'just the start of our ambitions'. Trade and migration will be at the top of the agenda for the Foreign Secretary's trip, during which he will meet Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and external affairs minister S Jaishankar. The Foreign Office said Mr Lammy would also raise 'the recent escalation in tensions following the Pahalgam terrorist attack, and how the welcomed sustained period of peace can be best supported in the interests of stability in the region'. Pakistan and India agreed to a US-brokered ceasefire last month after rising hostilities between the two nuclear-armed rivals followed a deadly attack on tourists in Pahalgam, Kashmir. Ahead of the visit, Mr Lammy said: 'Signing a free trade agreement is just the start of our ambitions – we're building a modern partnership with India for a new global era. 'We want to go even further to foster an even closer relationship and co-operate when it comes to delivering growth, fostering innovative technology, tackling the climate crisis and delivering our migration priorities, and providing greater security for our people.' The Foreign Office said talks in New Delhi would aim to 'deepen and diversify the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries'. 'The Foreign Secretary will also welcome progress in our migration partnership, including ongoing work on safeguarding citizens and securing borders in both countries,' it said.
