The club has been formally congratulated following the penalty shoot-out victory over Lowland League side Tranent.
Renfrewshire councillors have paid tribute to Johnstone Burgh after they lifted the Scottish Junior Cup for the first time in 57 years.
The club has been formally congratulated for its achievement following a penalty shoot-out victory over Lowland League side Tranent on Sunday, June 1.

Striker Kyle Lafferty converted the decisive spot-kick to ensure a 4-2 win – sparking euphoria among the players and supporters – after a 1-1 draw in normal time at Broadwood Stadium in Cumbernauld, North Lanarkshire.

It meant captain Derek Esplin became the first Burgh skipper to hoist the trophy aloft since 1968 when George Caughey did just that.
Recounting his experience of the day at Thursday's full meeting of Renfrewshire Council, Councillor Iain McMillan, a Labour representative for Johnstone South and Elderslie, declared it would "live long" in his memory.
He added: "For those of us who were at the game, it was absolutely fantastic and I was very fortunate – I was there with my dad, I was there with my daughter and I was there with my granddaughter, so there were four generations of the family.
"Being a supporter of a rather large football club, the difference you get when you go and see a smaller community club like Johnstone Burgh is like chalk and cheese because you virtually know everybody in the crowd. It's that community feeling."
Ciaran Diver grabbed a second-half equaliser to take the final to penalties after opponents Tranent had taken a first-half lead through Harry Girdwood.
Murdo MacKinnon's Burgh then held their nerve during the shoot-out, netting all of their penalties to send their fans and coaching staff into a state of jubilation.

The West of Scotland League Premier Division outfit's pitch perfect cast of takers included Fraser Mullen, Diver, Ross Davidson and Lafferty.
Later that evening, hundreds of punters draped in red and white descended on Johnstone's Houstoun Square for Burgh's eagerly anticipated homecoming.
Councillor Andy Steel, an SNP representative for Johnstone South and Elderslie, said at the meeting: "Similar to Councillor McMillan, I was there with my boy and, despite very kind invitations elsewhere, I really wanted to be there with my son to create a memory that hopefully lasts a few years for me and a lifetime for him because that's what it's all about really.

"We go to the Burgh on a Saturday afternoon and I like going to watch the Burgh because I get to spend two hours with my son, which I don't very often, so it meant an awful lot."
Provost Lorraine Cameron added: "It was a very proud day indeed for everyone in Johnstone.
"It just gave the community a whole buzz and you'll be pleased to know I'm in the process of organising an appropriate civic hospitality reception for the players and guests."
Two motions congratulating Burgh were unanimously agreed among elected members.

East Kilbride v Dunfermline: Mick Kennedy says top opposition friendlies will serve side well for League Cup

The League Two side will face the Pars on Saturday before facing Hearts behind closed doors East Kilbride players started their pre-season training this past week and Mick Kennedy's men will be thrown straight into a tough test this weekend. The Lowland League champions and newly-promoted League Two side welcome Neil Lennon's Dunfermline Athletic to K-Park for their first pre-season friendly on Saturday afternoon, ahead of a clash behind closed doors against Premiership side Hearts. ‌ Kilby are being thrown in at the deep end, but Kennedy insists it is required ahead opening competitive action at home to championship side St Johnstone on July 12 in the Premier Sports League Cup. ‌ On Saturday's test, which is a 3pm kick-off, the Kilby gaffer said: 'It will be the first pre-season friendly for both of us so it will be interesting. I believe Dunfermline have been away for a warm weather training camp so I am sure they will be well-prepared. 'To be fair to our boys, they've come back in great shape so it will be a good test. It is about trying to bed the new boys in, in terms of our philosophy because it will be different to what they are used to. 'Dunfermline and Hearts are difficult games to bed them in, to be honest, but it is a good environment for them to test themselves. ‌ 'Neil is trying to build a new team and at the early stages of rebuilding so we'll be interested to see what kind of team he plays. I imagine what team he plays on Saturday and what team starts the season for them will be very different. 'A full-time and Championship club coming here is a great test. We wanted to play against top opposition to prepare us for the League Cup. 'The Hearts game has been sorted, but it is behind closed doors so there will be no fans. That game will be a tough one for the boys.'

Gartcairn gear up for friendlies as co-boss eyes WoSFL First Division title this term

The Airdrie club are looking to bounce straight back to the top flight and start preparation on Saturday in a friendly with Lowland League Broxburn Athletic Gartcairn have lined up five pre-season friendlies as they prepare for a West of Scotland First Division title tilt. The Airdrie club host Broxburn Athletic on Saturday and then travel to Cowdenbeath on July 5, and welcome Edinburgh City to MTC Park three days later. ‌ Camelon are visitors on Saturday, July 12, before Gartcairn head to Musselburgh on July 19. ‌ Co-boss Ryan McStay, who works alongside Darren Barr, is delighted with their programme. He said: 'We've got five friendlies lined up, which is a really good test for us that we're looking forward to. 'It will be a really good gauge on where the squad is. 'Things are looking really well, we're singing off the same hymn sheet, and can't wait to get started. 'We need to start the season well and we'll be hoping to challenge for the league. 'Darvel have retained a few of their top performers, and the likes of St Roch's have recruited well. ‌ 'There will be other teams that will look at it and think it's a season to try things, with eight teams going up. 'We've signed a few young boys, trying to give them experience and blood them in to the team. But we're still going to try and win the league.' ‌ McStay says Gartcairn definitely have their stamp on them, and is eager to get going. 'When me and Darren came in it wasn't really our team in the last six games, but we've kept the boys we really wanted to,' he said. 'That's a solid base from last season, and we've done our work over the last few months. ‌ 'We've missed out on a few targets. We missed out on Paul Frize and Robbie Scullion [both from Beith], because we've dropped down from the top league. 'But we want players who want to come and play for us. We've signed a few that have a lot of experience in the West of Scotland and the senior game as well.' Meanwhile, McStay has parted company with six players over the past few weeks. Goalkeeper Kieran Hughes, defenders Ryan Lockie and Scott Rumsby have departed alongside forward trio Kenny Barr, Ross Caldwell and Robert Thomson. A club statement read: 'As the squad get ready for the hard work ahead, we'd like to say a massive thanks to the players moving on to pastures new. Thank you from everyone at the club all the best for the future.'
