Three men charged after alleged robbery at gunpoint during house party, documents say
Charges are allegations only. All arrested persons are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
WEST JORDAN, Utah () — Three men have been arrested and charged after robbing a small group at gunpoint during a house party on Sunday.
Vicente Everette Isais, 19, Brooks Eric Candelario, 18, and Gabriel Elias Cearrido, 22, have all been charged with aggravated robbery, prohibited dangerous weapon conduct, unlawful detention, possession of a controlled substance, and minor possession of an alcoholic product.

According to documents, on June 1, a West Jordan Police officer responded to a call about a weapons offense in the area of 1500 West Crystal Ridge Drive in West Jordan. The officer met the three victims a few blocks away.
The victims told police that they were at a party at the residence on Crystal Ridge Drive when a group of men — later identified as Isais, Candelario, and Cearrido — approached them. One man blocked the door, while the others pulled guns on the victims and stole their jewelry and bags, documents say.
One of the victims had roughly $2,000 in cash in his bag, which was taken from him at gunpoint. The necklaces the victim was wearing were also yanked off and stolen. The victims ran away from the residence and went to hide at a friend's house nearby and called the police.

A West Jordan police officer used a drone to locate the black Audi that the group of men used to flee. He located the Audi and stopped it for a traffic violation. The three men inside the vehicle were taken into custody.
During a search of the Audi, four loaded handguns were located, one of which had previously been reported stolen. THC vape devices, alcoholic beverages, and a bag matching the description of the one that was stolen were also found inside the vehicle.
The Salt Lake County District Attorney's Office requested that Isais, Candelario and Cearrido all be detained until their court appearances, and requested pretrial detentions.

Teenager killed in Sheffield crash came to UK months ago 'for a better future'
A teenager who died after being hit by a car in Sheffield had recently come to the UK from Yemen looking "for a better future", his loved ones said. Abdullah Yaser Abdullah Al Yazidi, 16, wanted to be "friends with everybody" and would "light up" people's faces with a big smile", according to his relatives and friends. After arriving in the UK from Yemen two or three months ago, he had devoted himself to learning English ahead of starting at college in September, they said. His relative, Saleh Alsirkal, runs a corner shop that the teenager popped into just before he was . "His dad brought him over to change his life, to get a better future for his son, but this has happened and destroyed everything," said Mr Alsirkal. Mr Alsirkal said Abdullah was a "kind boy" who just wanted to look after his family, including his three sisters and was really enjoying learning English. "Every time he had a new word to learn, he was so excited about it," he said. "It meant a lot to him and he learned quick. Sometimes he would stay in the shop just so he could talk to people. He tried to be friends with everyone." "He wanted to be the main guy for the family. He was 16 years old, but he was a clever man," said Mr Alsirkal. Abdullah's friend, Oasmah Thabet, said the teenager "really cared for his family". "You can really tell the character of somebody by the support they give to their family," he said. "To the people who would come around and just say hello to him, he would light up their faces with a big smile. "I'd like to think that we related in the sense that both our families migrated from Yemen to here. "The reason our family came here was for a better life - to live the dream. "For something to happen like this and for your dreams to be cut so short, it's a tragic loss for the family and it's just a shock that can't be described." The teenager was walking along Staniforth Road, in the Darnall area of , when he was hit by the car. The grey Audi also hit an e-bike, leaving an 18-year-old man with serious injuries, before leaving the scene. Police are still questioning a 20-year-old man on suspicion of murder and attempted murder after he was arrested in Kent on Thursday. "This is a heartbreaking case in which a completely innocent boy has lost his life," said Detective Chief Inspector Benjamin Wood. "Our thoughts remain with Abdullah's family and our priority is securing justice for them. "A murder investigation has been launched and we have a team of detectives working around the clock. "I am renewing our message to not share footage of this incident which may cause further distress to Abdullah's loved ones." DCI Wood asked for anyone with footage or information to contact officers and said he was keen to hear from the riders of two electric bikes who were in the area at the time. Two people, a man, aged 46, and a woman, aged 45, arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, have both been bailed pending further inquiries, police said.

Boy, 16, killed in hit and run crash named locally
A teenage pedestrian who was killed in a hit and run crash in Sheffield has been named locally. Abdullah Yaha Al-Zaidy, 16, was struck by a grey Audi which is believed to have been driven towards three electric bikes on Staniforth Road in Darnall on Wednesday afternoon. One of the e-bike riders, an 18-year-old man, suffered serious injuries and remains in hospital. A 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder on Thursday. Residents and local councillors have now paid tribute to the boy, who "always gave the best smiles", and said his death as he walked along the pavement behind the e-bikes had shocked the community. Three people, a 45-year-old woman and two men aged 26 and 46, have been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. All three remain in custody. Abdullah was described as an "innocent bystander" to the incident by South Yorkshire Police. The car did not stop at the scene. Mrs Khan, who has been living in the area for eight years, said the teenager used to work at Shansha Red Shop on Staniforth Road and serve her ice cream. "He was a good lad, reserved, not talkative but always gives good smiles," she said. "It's so sad. I couldn't sleep, especially knowing him, that upsets me really. "He was such a young boy." Darnall Labour councillor Mary Lea said: "I can speak for myself and my colleague, councillor Zahira Naz, and say we were shocked when we heard about this incident. "My first thoughts were of the family and the boy who lost his life and the tragedy of it all. "Our hearts go out to this young man's family at this time; and we can only imagine their grief and pain. We are thinking about them and they [are] in our prayers." "He was reportedly walking to a nearby shop to meet his father, with plans to eat together, when the tragic accident occurred. Man arrested in connection with West Seattle drive-by shooting
The Seattle Police Department (SPD) arrested a 23-year-old man charged with assault in connection with a drive-by shooting on Tuesday in West Seattle, SPD said in a release. At around 11:30 a.m. on June 3, officers found multiple shell casings after the shooting near Southwest Dakota Street and 25th Avenue Southwest, according to Seattle police. SPD said after reviewing video of the 23-year-old suspect running into a nearby apartment building, officers were able to find and arrest him. Police say they found a handgun with ballistic-tipped ammunition inside a black Audi sedan, but another suspect connected to the car has not been found. SPD asks anyone with information to call the Violent Crimes Tip Line at 206-233-5000.
