Did a fight really disrupt the netball tournament at Pulapol Segamat?
Verdict:
TRUE
Police have confirmed that an incident involving a group of women wearing 'Perkep' jerseys - the Police Family Association - did occur, but it happened in May.
Superintendent Ahmad Zamry Marinsah, the Segamat District Police Chief, stated they were aware of the video titled "Hari Sukan Perkep Bertukar Kecoh" circulating recently on social media.
The investigation revealed that the incident took place on May 24 during a netball tournament at the Johor People's Sports Carnival 2025, held at the Open Hall of the Segamat Police Training Centre (Pulapol).
The commotion was triggered by dissatisfaction over perceived violations of match rules set by the organisers.
"However, the situation was successfully defused, and both parties chose to resolve the matter amicably without any unwanted incidents," said Ahmad Zamry.
The involved parties were summoned to the Segamat District Police Headquarters to give statements.
On May 29, police received reports from both parties regarding the incident, and they maintained their decision not to escalate the issue as it had been resolved amicably.
The public is advised against spreading or making inaccurate statements about the incident.
