IND Vs ENG 1st Test 5th Day FREE Live Streaming Details: When And Where To Watch India vs England Headingley, Leeds Test Match Live Telecast On TV, Mobile APPs Online
IND vs ENG Day 5: After four riveting days of Test cricket at Headingley, the stage is perfectly set for a thrilling final day in the first Test between India and England also the inaugural clash for the newly renamed Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. With England 21/0 at stumps on Day 4, chasing a mammoth target of 371 runs, they still need 350 runs to pull off a historic chase. India, meanwhile, are just 10 wickets away from starting their World Test Championship 2025–27 campaign with a big win.
Rain Threat Looms But Not a Major Concern
Though the match has largely escaped major weather disruptions so far, the forecast for Day 5 carries a slight cause for concern. Overnight showers in Leeds have left the outfield damp, and according to AccuWeather, there's a 55% chance of light rain at 10 AM local time just one hour before play is scheduled to begin.
However, with only minor showers expected, the chances of significant time loss appear slim. Groundstaff will be on high alert early in the morning to ensure conditions are ready for play.
Overcast Conditions Could Favour Indian Pacers
While rain may not be a major hurdle, the overcast skies expected in the morning session could be a decisive factor — and could work in India's favour. With Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, and Prasidh Krishna in their ranks, the Indian pace attack will welcome any assistance from the swinging conditions. Strong wind gusts may also make it harder for English batters to settle in.
England's Challenge: Fight Through Swing and Score Big
England's task is daunting. Needing 350 runs on a Day 5 surface under potentially cloudy skies, they will need a near-perfect batting performance. The top order must survive the early swing threat and build partnerships if they are to stand any chance of chasing down the target.
With Joe Root and Ben Stokes yet to bat, England does have the firepower to push India, but surviving the first session will be key.

Expected stubbornness but Jay Shah is honest and proper: Ganguly on tenure as BCCI President
NEW DELHI: Reflecting on his eventful tenure as BCCI President, Sourav Ganguly has revealed that he expected a "certain kind of toughness and stubbornness" from the then Board secretary and current ICC chairman Jay Shah but was left impressed with his "honesty" and resolve to do things "properly". Ganguly and Shah were colleagues at the world's richest cricket board from October 2019 to September 2022, navigating a tumultuous phase caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, which brought sporting activity to a grinding halt for few months. "He (Jay) had his own way of doing things but the best thing about him was he wanted to do things properly for Indian cricket," Ganguly told PTI in an exclusive interview at his residence in Kolkata. "See, he had the power, the support, so you expected certain kind of toughness, stubbornness from him but he would do things for Indian cricket," the iconic former captain explained, referring to Shah's status of being the son of Home Minister Amit Shah. It was the first time that both Ganguly and Shah held BCCI positions. Before that, Ganguly had headed the Cricket Association of Bengal, while Shah was an office-bearer in the Gujarat Cricket Association. While Ganguly was replaced by another former Test player Roger Binny in 2022, Shah continued as BCCI secretary till November 2024 before taking over as the youngest ever ICC chairman at 36 years of age. Asked about how the power dynamics and relationship was between the scion of a political family and a celebrated cricket star, Ganguly said they shared a cordial equation which has continued to this date.

Sanjay Manjrekar Takes Aim At Virat Kohli. Internet Says: "Retired But Your Obsession..."
Sanjay Manjrekar took a cheeky dig at Virat Kohli, while summarising the Shubman Gill -led Team India's performance in the ongoing 1st Test against England in Leeds. Following the Test retirements of Kohli and Rohit Sharma, fans and experts had expressed concerns over the team's batting in the lead up to the series. However, Gill, Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul and others have performed exceedingly well in the absence of the big stars. Captain and Gill slammed centuries in the first innings, while KL Rahul top-scored for the team in the second innings with a remarkable 137. If that wasn't enough, Pant became the first Asian batter to score hundreds in both the innings of a Test match in England. Taking to social media, Manjrekar said that the young Indian team has silenced its doubters, while taking an indirect dig at Kohli. "Cricket is a by far the no 1 sport in India. There is tremendous incentive for young kids to take up cricket. Hence 'What after fab 4, or what after Virat' is an irrational fear," Manjrekar wrote on X (formerly Twitter). The Test at Leeds has been a run-fest for Team India so far, with their lead well beyond 300 runs. In the first innings, triple treat of centuries from Yashasvi Jaiswal (101 in 159 balls, with 16 fours), skipper Shubman Gill (147 in 227 balls, with 19 fours and a six) and Rishabh Pant (134 in 178 balls, with 12 fours and six sixes) powered India to 471. After England's strong reply that left India's lead to just six runs, KL Rahul, who missed out on a fifty in the first innings, got his big one too, while Pant became India's first wicketkeeper-batter with twin Test tons, scoring 118 in 140 balls, with 15 fours and three sixes. It is the sixth time ever that this milestone has been achieved by a team in Test cricket.
