Scottie Scheffler Is Prepared To Quit Golf if Situation Arises
Scottie Scheffler is the favorite heading into The Open Championship, despite an underwhelming finish last week at North Berwick. He'll be aiming to win the Claret Jug, bringing him one step closer to the prestigious Grand Slam, but it all means nothing to the World No. 1 without his family.

Last week, he revealed that golf is no longer his top priority. He loves the sport, but what matters even more is his family—his wife Meredith and son Bennett. This week, he made an even more shocking revelation. He's prepared to walk away from golf if it ever comes at their expense.
"I love playing golf. I love being able to compete. I love living out my dreams." Scheffler expressed on Tuesday. "I love being a father. I love being able to take care of my son. I love being able to provide for my family out here playing golf."

"Every day when I wake up early to go put in the work, my wife thanks me for going out and working so hard. When I get home, I try and thank her every day for taking care of our son. That's why I talk about family being my priority, because it really is," he continued.

Scheffler's wife, Meredith, has been his biggest supporter. She's there to celebrate his victories and to console him in defeat. And with baby Bennett growing up, their little family looks lovely. So, Scheffler's decision comes as no surprise.
"I'm blessed to be able to come out here and play golf, but if my golf ever started affecting my home life or it ever affected the relationship I have with my wife or my son, that's going to be the last day that I play out here for a living." Scheffler revealed.
"This is not the be-all, end-all. This is not the most important thing in my life. That's why I wrestle with, why is this so important to me? Because I'd much rather be a great father than I would be a great golfer. At the end of the day, that's what's more important to me." he added.

'Legend of Zelda' live-action movie finds its Zelda and Link
The live-action 'Legend of Zelda' movie has found its stars. Legendary game designer Shigeru Miyamoto, who's an executive producer on the film, announced Wednesday on X that Bo Bragason will portray Princess Zelda and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth will play Link in Nintendo and Sony's film. Liverpool OVERTAKE Arsenal in €100m talks
Liverpool have reportedly overtaken Arsenal in pursuit of a €100m forward. The Reds are now closest to making this happen. Luis Diaz has massively complicated things at Liverpool. The Colombian wasn't supposed to leave this summer or at the least, the Reds didn't think he would. Diaz isn't exactly an untouchable at Anfield but the idea that someone would pay his asking price seemed farfetched. And the to be fair, it has been. Barcelona and Bayern Munich have each pushed for Diaz in the last few weeks. Both failed to get anywhere near what Liverpool would want in order to sell. But now the winger has made it clear to Liverpool that he wants out. And that may well force their hand as offers continue to arrive. At the very least, it has the Reds seeking a replacement and they appear to have found a very high-profile one. Liverpool lead Rodrygo race AS claims Liverpool are now at the front of the queue for Rodrygo. The outlet mentions that the Reds view him as a replacement for Diaz, should he leave the club this summer. And so they'll fly in for talks about Rodrygo. A deal might be able to happen, even if Real Madrid want €100m for their player. Importantly, Arsenal - previously considered favourites to sign Rodrygo - are now 'more distant' in the race than Liverpool. The Reds have stolen a march on the Gunners, pushing to the front and now signing the Brazilian is a real possibility. But there is a way to go just yet. Liverpool won't sign Rodrygo unless Diaz leaves but that will take a large fee in order to cover signing the replacement.

British Open Championship 2025 Golfweek staff picks: Who will win at Royal Portrush?
The final men's major championship of the year is here, as the 2025 British Open Championship kicks off Thursday morning at Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler is the betting favorite to walk away with his fourth major title. He has three wins on the PGA Tour this season, including the PGA Championship.
