Located in the Ötztal Valley in Tyrol less than 84 km from Innsbruck Airport, Sölden is famous for its premium skiing on a seamlessly connected glacier and mountain ski area. Offering reliable snow from autumn through spring, thanks to its high-altitude terrain, two glaciers and state-of-the-art snowmaking, the resort delivers a world-class experience that blends alpine sport, entertainment and wellness.

Sölden offers high-alpine adventure with modern flair. Highlights include the cinematic 007 ELEMENTS James Bond experience at over 3,000 meters, the ice Q gourmet restaurant made famous in 'Spectre' and the BIG3 Rally across Sölden's three highest peaks. With 31 lifts and 144 km of slopes, 33 cozy ski huts, an unmatched lineup of on-mountain entertainment and signature events, the resort is known for experiences that go far beyond skiing.

Epic Passes are on sale now at the lowest price of the year through May 26. May 26 is also the last chance to receive two Buddy Tickets (for up to 45% savings on a lift ticket) and six Ski With a Friend Tickets to help Pass Holders share days at their favorite resorts with family and friends. Further, May 26 is the last chance to purchase an Epic Pass with just $49 down. Pay $49 at the time of purchase, with the remainder of the purchase due mid-September.
Sölden is the latest partner resort in Austria to be added to the Epic Pass lineup for the 2025/26 winter season capping of a week of exciting announcements from Vail Resorts. Earlier this week, Austrian ski areas Saalbach and Zell am See-Kaprun, Mayrhofen and Hintertux, and Silvretta Montafon joined the 2025/26 Epic Pass roster. Vienna's Musical Message to Aliens: One, Two, Three. One, Two, Three.
What would aliens make of the waltz? That was the big question on Saturday evening while the Vienna Symphony Orchestra performed Johann Strauss's world-renowned 'Blue Danube' waltz, as a 35-meter antenna in Cebreros, Spain, simultaneously transmitted a recording of it into space. The Vienna Tourist Board, which organized the event at the Museum of Applied Arts in collaboration with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra and the European Space Agency, said beaming the music into the cosmos was an effort to correct the record, as it were. In 1977, when the Voyager 1 and 2 spacecraft left the Earth with two copies of the Golden Record, which contains images, sounds and music from Earth, Strauss's 'Blue Danube' waltz did not make the cut. This was a mistake, according to Vienna's tourism board, which is celebrating Strauss's 200th birthday this year. After all, Strauss was the 19th-century equivalent of a pop star. According to Tim Dokter, the director of artistic administration for the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, back then, each composition for the waltz was like a hot new single. 'People would wait for it, like, 'Oh, a new waltz dropped today,'' Dokter said. 'It was something new to dance to, like a new techno song.' With Voyager 1 already more than 15 billion miles from Earth, the farthest of any object humans have launched into the universe, there's no way to make changes to the Golden Record. Instead, the 'Blue Danube' waltz — traveling as an electromagnetic wave at the speed of light — will overtake the spacecraft and continue to soar into deep space. Anna Hall ties for second all-time in heptathlon points
American Anna Hall has posted a heptathlon score bettered by only person in history — her mentor Jackie Joyner-Kersee. Hall won the famed Hypo Meeting in Götzis, Austria, with 7,032 points on Saturday and Sunday — moving from fifth to tied for second on the all-time list. Advertisement 'The last heptathlon I did before this broke my heart,' Hall said of her fifth-place finish at the Paris Olympics, according to World Athletics. 'But I feel like this heptathlon healed it." Joyner-Kersee, the 1988 and 1992 Olympic gold medalist, holds the world record of 7,291 points and the top six scores in history overall. Hall matched Swede Carolina Klüft, the 2004 Olympic gold medalist, who also scored 7,032. Hall's previous personal best was 6,988 at Götzis in 2023. In the two years between Hall's two Götzis victories, she took silver at the 2023 World Championships — 20 points behind Brit Katarina Johnson-Thompson, the closest heptathlon in world championships history — while competing with a knee injury. Pitch at the Red Bull Arena completely renewed
New natural surface laid The final whistle had barely sounded on our last home match of the season against SK Rapid Vienna when the diggers started moving in - the work on our playing surface began at the Red Bull Arena straight after the end of the season. What might look like a routine switch is actually a complete new laying of the playing surface – including all the layers underneath from 2010. A comprehensive analysis showed that the underground drainage is not working as planned. The Fiberlastic layey that was installed in October 2018 has been particularly affected, with intensive use for matches and regular machine-based maintenance causing wear. Due to the regular rain in our region, which can be heavy at times, a porous surface is essential to ensure matches can always go ahead. Irrigation and drainage improved Another important point in the improvements is the sprinkler system, which also dates from 2010. The previous arrangement of the system does not match the latest technology. In future, some 20 sprinklers rather than 12 will ensure for a more even and efficient distribution of water – both for matches and everyday. As we want to retain flexibility in our pitch system amid the expected future demands, the decision was made again to have a natural pitch. That gives the opportunity to swap individual areas or, if necessary, complete strips of turf. With the new set-up, we have everything we need for the years to come – for our players, our fans and for some memorable matches at the Red Bull Arena. We are already looking forward to getting back on the new green grass of home in July!
